Author has written 13 stories for Harry Potter, and Maximum Ride. Hey, everyone! So, I decided to go ahead and clean out my profile for the summer. Especially considering the last time I cleaned it out was December...Nicely done, Bub'les. Nicely done. Anywho, I'll just give you guys a little info about myself that in most ways does not at all correlate to fanfiction: Name: Sarah, Bub'les, Pagina...preferably not Blanco. that'd be not cool. Age: the lovely age of fifteen...bleh. Preferred fandoms: Harry Potter, pre-war, Marauder's Era; The Mortal Instruments; Percy Jackson; Narnia, occasionally; Alex Rider (slash is a magical, magical thing); Maximum Ride, forever and always; Twilight, on a good day; Avatar; TV shows, Lie to Me, House, Dollhouse, Bones; Wicked Lovely; and several others that I forgot to mention but are there, I swear! Very Bestest Fanfic-ing friend (because it's necessary): The lovely Pallas Athen. Look her up, people! Alternate Accounts: Bubbles and Bub'les - look us up, I share it with Pallas Athen. We're currently working on a delightful little extravaganza. It's going to be fantabulous! Other Important Info: I find flaming/crushing people's souls deliciously fun, so if I hurt you in any manner: too bad. Suck it up, and write better. That's pretty much me. Have fun exploring the rest of my profile, and if you have any questions or comments PLEASE message me! I'm bereft for friends, here, people... 12.20.08 I just wanted to put this up for all of you. It's from the Guidelines section of the Publish tab, and I think everyone should read it. Everyone knows that no one actually reads the terms (I don't judge - I didn't actually read them until today) but this is really important to writers because, frankly, less than half of the writers on here actually DO all of this. Here is a list of conducts that should always be observed: Spell check all stories and poems. There is no excuse for not doing this. If you do not have a word processor that has the spell checking feature, use a search engine such as Google.Com to find one. Proofread all entries for grammar and other aspects of writing before submission. 'Hot off the press' content is often riddled with errors. No one is perfect but it is the duty of the writer to perform to the best of his/her ability. Respect the reviewers. Not all reviews will strictly praise the work. If someone rightfully criticizes a portion of the writing, take it as a compliment that the reviewer has opted to spend his/her valuable time to help improve your writing. Everyone here is an aspiring writer. Respect your fellow members and lend a helping a hand when they need it. Like many things, the path to becoming a better writer is often a two way street. Use proper textual formatting. For example: using only capital letters in the story title, summary, or content is not only incorrect but also a disregard for the language itself. -x- The Dash I read of a man who stood to speak At the funeral of a friend He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning to the end He noted that first came the date of her birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; The cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what’s true and real And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we’ve never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile Remembering that this special dash Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy is being read With your life’s actions to rehash Would you be proud of the things they say About how you spent your dash? -Linda Ellis How Will You Spend YOUR Dash? -x- Just some of my more remembered quotes: "How did this come about?" he inquired mildly. "Surely you have not learned to fly, or someone would have mentioned it at supper." "Zuko, i dont care what everyone else says about you. You're pretty smart." Ang, Avatar Vid. "That’s what mates are for, I guess. To remind you that you’ve gone insane." The Incoherent Ramblings of a Twisted Mind, johnnydicaprio "Dear Ms Evans, We would like to congratulate you on breaking record number 3182: the record of the number of times the word starting with ‘f’ and rhyming with ‘duck’ is said/muttered/screamed/roared/etc in the time space of 60 seconds by any given person in any given area of any of the Wizarding institutions throughout the entire European continent. "(Outside the Castle during a snow flurry) “The forest is off limits you know,” said Lily. Moments of Bliss, Chapter 21, Moonymaniac "Sirius looked at Remus strangely. “I didn’t expect you to actually believe me,” he said quietly." Moments of Bliss, Chapter 28, Moonymaniac -x- A note to all fan fic writers: You have a fandom. You are responsible for characters and scenarios you did not create. You are responsible to treat these characters and scenarios with proper respect. You are responsible to do them justice and to give authors a reason to not ban/discourage fans from writing fan fiction. You have a responsibility to remember that the fandom is not yours alone. You have liberty. You get to play around with characters you didn't have to bother creating. You get to make up new scenarios and characters to fit into the world of the canon already created. You get to work with already formed ideas instead of taking hours just to brainstorm an incredible newly formed universe. You have a responsibility to keep your extensions in check. You have a challenge. You get the opportunity to create something new and original in an already created canon. You have obstacles to overcome when you try and fit something new and original in. You have to pay close attention to the world you are working with so that you do not contradict something fans count on. You have a responsibility to meet this challenge head-on and to not take the easy path of avoidance, sacrificing your work's relationship to the canon in the process. You have your own agenda. You are not being paid for this and have the luxury to be self-indulgent because this site does not determine your success or failure as a writer. You have a responsibility to not be too self-indulgent. You have to be respectful. You have to treat your readers with respect. You have to treat your fan fiction's origins with respect. You have to respect yourself and your writing and your potential. You have to respect the changes others make even if you do not agree. You have a responsibility to be respectful. You have wants. You want to get reviews. You want to get fans. You want people to appreciate your hard work. You want people to respect you and your decisions. You want to improve. You want to make something interesting. You want to be a good writer. You want positive feedback. You have a responsibility to achieve your wants. You have readers. You have people giving you feedback you may not like. You have people discouraging you. You have people trying to help you. You have people giving you advice and tips, even if all they tell you is what they don't like. You have people to listen to, even if you don't want to listen. You have a responsibility to remember your readers. You have an ability. You have the potential to write many things. You have ideas to explore. You have things to say. You have reason and logic and a proper understanding that comes with being a writer. You have a responsibility to use your ability well and to respect it by using it properly. Fan fiction writers have a lot of responsibility. ((It occurs to me - Bub'les - that several of these would be great advice to give to the people that make the movies for these books. No matter how many people go to see the movies, there's always plently of people who WON'T go see it because of how they made them.)) -x- Quotes:(this is one of the hottest quotes ever. If you don't think a quote can be hot prepare to be proven wrong) "Rowr!" - Fang -Maximum Ride: SOF (I'm sorry but that's seriously hot.) -x- Friendship Dearest Niobe. Everyone can see it, but only you can truly feel its warmth. -x- Top Ten Reasons Why Gay Marriage Is Wrong: 1) Being gay is not natural. Real America has always reject unnatural things like glasses, plastic surgery, and air conditioning. 2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall. 3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and 4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. 5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed. The sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed! 6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children. 7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children. 8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America. 9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children. 10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans Please repost this if you are for gay marriage. | |||||||||
