Semi-retired Proofreader, QC, and occasional Editor for scanlations. Proofreading being actually checking translations with the original source (I'm Japanese literate), style, grammar, spelling, etc. QC is catching anything the proofreader misses and Editor is someone who uses Photoshop a lot.

If you're interested in my being a Beta, there are several things you should know:
1. I'm very picky and can be quite anal in my corrections, as my 'boss' told me before about translators complaining at my changes to their script. Though, I'm not that bad when going over works that hasn't crossed over a language; most of my selectiveness is because I'm true to the original -- in this case, the canon personalities and characterizations.
2. I'm not that familiar with British English though am probably better than most Americans about it. Most of the people I've worked with in the past are European, so that helps.
3. Grammar. Still learning but can stick to a certain style when it involves conversation. Again, that mostly has to do with my mixing European and American styles together in my own writing but usually only happens in my own personal works. I DO make mistakes but who doesn't?
4. Fandoms. I'd probably stick to stuff I've read since I'm more the type to offer ideas and inspiration than a strict grammar-nazi. Harry Potter, Naruto, HxH, YYH, Inuyasha, Hellsing, PoT, Ouran Koukou Host Club, etc. I'm constantly adding to that list (and have plenty that I actually don't read fanfictions of in the back burner) but please, no LoTR. That's a bit too information heavy for me. I'm alright with slash and most depravity a person can think of, though a warning would be nice.
5. I'm actually better as a soundboard, really, but I can double as a proofreader if necessary.

Art:
Accepts coloring requests along with having some fan-art in the works. I just need to get off my bum and start it.

PM if interested.

Pet Peeves: Spelling (occasionally, people make mistakes but I hate it when people constantly spell lose with two o's), incorrect ages and birthdays (I'm weird like that, along with other details like height and physical coloring), and blatant lust that's not humor (I had been permanently scarred, once, involving Snape fawning over Harry in a... ack! No, the horror! The memories!).

Pairing's I Abhor:
Kakashi/Iruka (where does this pairing come from?!)
Naruto/Hinata (hear me out. The two are cute but it's SO overused, and I personally dislike cutesy romance, anyway. It's sad how I've developed the habit of flinching whenever I see this pairing in a summary.)

Pairings I Dislike:
Harry/Ginny
Ron/Hermione
Harry/Draco or Harry/Most Males
Harry/Severus (traumatic experience)
Severus with anyone (too OOC unless it's Lily and even then, it's supposed to be unrequited love)
Kagome/Inuyasha (I actually hate most canon pairings since the guy makes such a fool of the girl. Kagome's so rational but when it involves Inuyasha...)
Sesshoumaru/Rin
Ranma/Akane (then there's always the case with the girl abusing the guy)
Itachi/Anybody (mostly since these fics usually involve a way OOC Itachi)
Sakura/Naruto or Sakura/Sasuke (this is actually like Hermione, as I can't really imagine these two girls with someone their age or younger)
Killua or Gon with anybody, including each other. Especially each other. (The only possible thing I might be able to read is Hisoka/Killua and that's just for the kicks.)
Leorio with a male
Anything slash in Host Club (it's supposed to be a reverse harem, for goodness sakes! Though I'm amenable to femslash in this, which would be quite amusing)
--I usually can tolerate these if they're minor pairings but anything more than that just annoys -- or freaks -- me out. Of course, really good authors can make an exception to this, where I just try to ignore the specified romance and concentrate on the awesome plot.

My 'ships:
Hermione/Cedric (OTP for Hermione, no idea why, really)
Kagome/Sesshoumaru (mainly because Sesshoumaru's so pretty and no real thought to this)
Sasuke/Naruto (oh, come on. If you HAVE to ship either one, why not ship them together?)
Shikamaru/Temari
Ino/Chouji
There's probably more but meh, I can basically stomach anything if the plot is good enough (and it isn't romance driven in case it's my less liked pairings). I mean, I read H/Hr while I'm not partial to that pairing either but can tolerate it. And really, I don't mind slash as long as it's believable. If it's obvious the character is straight(Leorio, Sengoku from PoT, Miroku, Kakash-- well, I'm not actually sure about him. Er, yeah.) then the writer has to try very hard to convince me. It all depends on the quality of the romance written. Well, except for Harry/Ginny and IY/K -- I just can't stand those and usually avoid stories with them.

My goal is to inspire people and give constructive criticism in reviews when needed. There's also a habit I have of being unable to shut up which is just part of me, unfortunately; I hate a blank page.

Update - Yeah, I suck. I promised myself I won't submit anything but a completed work but meh... NaNoWriMo is coming up though, so if I'm not writing an original story, I SHOULD have something to post after November. I mean, no one wants to read a poem, right?
