WHAT'S NEW

-August 14: You know your beloved laptop is slowly dying when it begins to malfunction. Less than a week after my last set of updates on FFN, my computer began experiencing some serious problems. I'd be working on something when everything would freeze up, and when I'd try to take corrective actions, the computer would then enter a seemingly-endless cycle of starting-up and shutting down. I tried just about everything I could think of, and even went online (with a different computer) for more ideas, but nothing worked. Unfortunately, I was not able to find any computer repair places near me, so I had to find another way to pass the time. I found some satisfaction in killing off the Greek Pantheon multiple times. The good news is that it finally decided to start behaving like its old self again (though some days are better than others).
My complaining aside, I've finished another part of Culinary Idol. I believe it's the funniest one yet, but I'll leave that to you to decide. In the meanwhile, I'll get back to that next chapter of MotH.

-March 22: The last time I updated anything on this site, it was August 2010, and I was a 21-year old Private First Class. Fast-forward to March 2011, the present day. I'm now 22, enjoying being promoted to Specialist, and rediscovering the joys of writing fanfiction again (Damn you, SC2, for being so damn addictive!). To commemorate my return to fanfiction, I've brought the newest chapter of MotH that I promised a long time back, and now have the next one in the works (should be out this weekend, if my credibility still means anything to you). My return has been a terribly long time coming, though, so I'd like to apologize for being gone so long and making several of you wait so long for an update! (Edit - March 24: Well, damn. Can't upload cause I keep getting an error message every time I try to make the appropriate edit. Looks like I'll be doing a double-update. In the meantime, I've already sent an email to the support folks (who haven't responded yet) and will keep trying. It's gotta work sometime!)

-April 2: After spending much time trying to update MotH and getting that same damn error message, I finally updated my story!!! I don't quite have the next chapter ready yet, but I'm hoping to have it ready by tomorrow. In the meantime, it feels very good to be back again.

December 18: Don't know if anybody's reading this, but if you are, I have two things to say: THANK YOU for sticking with me despite my lengthy inactivity, and second, I don't think I can apologize enough for my loose ends. I realize how wrong it was of me to essentially leave without saying goodbye (not that I'd ever really leave FFN - I enjoy it too much!), and I'm looking forward to my triumphant return. Let me explain. I'm sure you've already guessed from my personal info that I'm in the U.S. Army, and since my last posting in April, my unit got very busy with pre-deployment preparations, and everything was a whirlwind until about late July, at which time I was hunkered down in a quaint little building in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. Being deployed hasn't been too bad thus far, but internet access out here is spotty at best, and for the longest time, I couldn't even access this site till recently. I expect to be in Afghanistan till next July, and I'm not sure if I'll be doing any updates to any of my stories in the meantime. Even if I don't, I intend to return to writing fanfics once I get back to the states, though, so don't you worry!

1. Name: Clarissa Ketchum

Age: 17 (will be 18 in a matter of months)

Hometown/Region: Phenac City, Orre Region

Profession: Appears to be a simple Coordinator, but might be hiding a dark secret

Physical Appearance: Blue eyes with blue hair that hangs down at her lower back. Stands at roughly five and a half feet tall. Her choice of clothing is very simplisic - her usual wardrobe consists mostly of loose-fitting T-shirts and either thigh-length shorts or ankle-length skirts. (Hopefully, I can try to get a picture up on DeviantART before too long)

Personality: Very sweet and usually considerate of others. However, it appears she's keeping her true identity a secret for the time being.

Relatives: Kavichi Ketchum (Father), Ash Ketchum (Cousin, though neither are yet aware of this), Giovanni Ketchum (Uncle)

Pokémon: Currently has a Wynaut, Clefairy and Magnemite.

2. Name: Kavichi Ketchum

Age: Early 40's

Hometown/Region: Phenac City, Orre Region (Originally from southern Kanto Region)

Profession: Top executive of Team Nefarious, which he formed from the remaining members of Cipher and Team Snagem. From time to time, he consults with his commanders, which include Silver (the very Silver from the GSC games), Snattle, and Miror B. Although sponsoring the contests and leagues ongoing in the Orre Region, his ultimate goal is conquest of the Orre Region (and later, the world) through the creation of unstoppable shadow Pokémon.

Physical Appearance: Very similar to Giovanni's own complexion. Indeed, only minute facial appearances and outfit make/color distinguish them. He stands at six feet tall and has a head full of black hair. (Again, I'll try to get a picture of him uploaded onto my DA account)

Personality: His current mood is influenced by the progression of his plans; if everything works out smoothly, he's happy, otherwise... Acts calm around strangers, yet is capable of provoking fear in even the most steadfast individuals. It is due in large part to this that he commands much respect from within his faction.

Relatives: Clarissa Ketchum (Daughter), Giovanni Ketchum (Older Brother), Ash Ketchum (Nephew)

Pokémon: Keeps his vast army in PC storage, to be chosen at random. However, he usually relies on his second-in-commands to take care of any threats or foolish challengers.

Current Location: Executive office suite, situated at the very top of the former Cipher shadow Pokémon factory in the desert north of Phenac City

Age: Late 30's (as of chapter 4)

Hometown/Region: Littleroot Town, Hoenn Region

Profession: Single housewife (or, to be a bit more precise, house-widow) and mother of four

Physical Appearance: Waist-length blue hair. Emerald-green eyes. Wears the type of clothing that is considered seasonally appropriate. She's a mom, how do you think she looks?

Personality: Sweet and nurturing. Again, she's a mother, so this is to be expected.

Relatives: Charleston (Deceased Husband), Sally (Daughter), Annie (Daughter), Molly (Daughter), Harley (Son)

Pokémon: Has none of her own. Loves Pokémon, but not enough to want one.

4. Name: Mark Hayden

Age: Mid 40's

Hometown/Region: LaRousse City, Hoenn Region

Profession: Businessman (of sorts)

Physical Appearance: Dark green hair, got a bit of a beer-belly. He usually dresses in the style of "business casual". When out and about, he sports a pair of cool shades.

Personality: He's your classic male chauvinistic pig. In every sense of the word, he's a manly man. His idea of a good time is hanging out at the bar, downing a few beers and chili-cheese fries while alternating his gaze between the big game on TV and that big-chested waitress. Once a loyal family-man, he's become quite the womanizer since the death of his wife (a tradgedy resulting from childbirth complications). Two things he cannot tolerate: a woman who says 'no', and a man who is a little too in-touch with his 'inner woman'.

Relatives: Drew Hayden (Son), Deceased Wife

Pokémon: "Lemme ask ya something. Why ask a Pokémon to do a man's work, when the man can just as easily do the work himself?"

Current Location: Verdanturf, following the tournament of his son and prospective daughter-in-law
