KCS - my initials, obviously.
Note: I will be gone from Monday, July 21, through about midnight on Thursday, the 24th, as a camp counselor (no internet or time to write, unfortunately). I'll return then, and Friday morning will be on a plane for my family's vacation. So I'll see you all Friday evening - have a wonderful week and God bless!
(Two new writing prompts are listed below, sorry I had no time to find more for you.)

That Whiter Host is now up and running! Below you will find the link mentioned at the beginning of the story - the poem will give you an idea what is to come in the fic.

Writing Prompt #9
Your challenge today - Why exactly did Sherlock Holmes ask the Doctor to accompany him on the Drebber murder, other than the 'If you've nothing better to do' we get from STUD?
Writing Prompt #10
From the fifth chapter of STUD, we never do find out who the man is that impersonated an old woman to get the ring back.
Your challenge today - who was that man, and did Holmes ever encounter him again?
Writing Prompt #11
Chapter 6 of STUD is memorable for the debut of the Baker Street Irregulars.
Your challenge today - Use your imagination. When did Holmes first encounter these urchins, how did they meet, how did they begin to work for him, etc.
Writing Prompt #12
From Chapter 7, you remember Holmes saying "Now would you mind going down and fetching that poor little devil of a terrier which has been bad so long, and which the lady wanted you to put out of its pain yesterday..."?
Your challenge today - Why didn't Watson put it out of its misery when Mrs. Hudson asked him to? Soft-heartedness, or something else?
In case someone is actually interested and is reading this, here goes:
About my fics:
I am a firm believer in the idea that you need to be thoroughly immersed in the Canon and characters for which you write; which is why the SH fandom is the only one I have forayed into at this point - I am not quite into the minds of any of the other fandoms I like to read.
I also insist upon Canonical accuracy - my pet peeves being Holmes/Irene (or Holmes/Anyone), slash, time travel, and Holmes being antagonistic toward Mary Morstan...none of which are Canonical. I try to remain stolidly Victorian in my writing, so if you see any egregious Colonialisms, please do let me know!
However, I think in the proper circumstances, it is entirely appropriate to tweak the Canon just a bit (ok, more than just a bit) so long as the spirit of the work stays the same. Which is why I obviously have a fondness for AUs, tasteful ones.
And just so everyone knows, my OC the Baker Street Irregular Alfie may be borrowed with my permission - just PM me as a few people already have.
Also, my 221B series will be going to 221 chapters - and if you have a request or a challenge I'd love to meet it; just PM me about it and I'll do my best.
Favorite Quotes:
“It is as impossible for man to demonstrate the existence of God as it would be for Sherlock Holmes to demonstrate the existence of Arthur Conan Doyle.” ~ Frederick Buechner
“To me, the Sherlock Holmes stories are about a great friendship. Without Watson, Holmes might well have burnt out on drugs long ago. I hope the series shows how important friendship is.” ~ our dear Jeremy Brett
Speaking of great friendships, here's an unashamed plug for a good chum and an excellent writer, Protector of the Gray Fortress - check out her lovely fics after you're done wading through my long-winded bio. Yes, now.
