I'm a university graduate with a major in History and Museum Studies, currently looking for employment in the museum field. My favourite fandoms tend to wax and wane in involvement and time invested in reading/writing fanfic, but the main ones are Harry Potter (hence the nickname--I heart Snape!), CSI, 24, Firefly, Due South, and Phantom of the Opera.
In case my fandoms weren't conflicting enough, I love to read anything and everything: Jane Austen; a little Michael Crichton and Tom Clancy; Shakespeare; Anne Perry; Douglas Adams; Anne & Charlotte Bronte (haven't tried Wuthering Heights yet) and scads of other authors, fiction as well as non-fic. I'm also a hard-core historical RMS Titanic freak. No, not a Cameronite. I find the truth more interesting than the fiction--have since I was 12 (though of course the Cameron movie didn't come out till I was 17...like I said. Me not logical, so don't even try and figure out that last sentence. It's 12:45 am as I write this. My brain is dead. Whoa, I should probably end this monologue in parentheses.)
I also enjoy listening to music (particularly film scores, Loreena McKennitt, Enya and Blue Rodeo), watching movies, going to the theatre, writing (duh) and knitting (Harry Potter scarves, anyone? :-).
Oh yes, and I'm proud to be Canadian. :-)
And if you're wondering--the "my favourite stories" section isn't necessarily for that, per se. There are some faves in there, but I also put stories there that I want to read/finish reading but can't bookmark at the moment. Some are favourites though. Just to mess with your head. :-) If you want to see favourites, check out the "favourite authors" section--the authors whose works I really enjoy are listed there.
Also, for more frequent updates as to what I'm up to (fic-wise and IRL) and some wee previews of fic, visit my online journal.
UPDATE: Dec. 18, 2004
Well, as those who have been watching "The Shepherd: Book 2" have probably noticed, it's going nowhere fast.Currently it's on hiatus, and at the moment I can't see myself working on it anytime in the near future. Inspiration has completely dried up in that quarter, and real life has been intruding, making it difficult to write. Trust me, I want to finish this story, but I just can't seem to get the words on the page. My apologies to anyone who was looking forward to book 2--hopefully my muses will get back on my case and I can get moving on this fic again.
At the moment, I don't have any long stories that I plan to post any time soon, for any fandom. I have, however, recently uploaded a new short 24 fanfiction story ("All the King's Men"), and I have one or two short CSI fics that I'll upload soon.
As ever, if you want to hear more frequent updates as to how a story is going, or want to see snippets of fics-in-the-works, see my LiveJournal.
