Lloyd Irving(Aurion): My favorite character in ToS. He might be very poor in school, but he's genuine and unafraid to speak what's on his mind no matter what. He has some of the best character development I've ever seen out of many video games/stories/real life, which is saying something about the world we live in. Add onto that the fact that he can recognize when he made a mistake and make sure never to do the same thing again and tries to make up for the mistake, he's very much ... Human. Colette Brunel: To be honest, even though Colette's Lloyd's canon love interest, she ... irritates me. I don't HATE her like several people here do, because if she lost her inability to see things aren't always her fault (and if she'd stop getting kidnapped), she'd actually be a really funny character. Her klutz attacks make me smile. The fact that she is potrayed as a dumb blond irritates me, not just because sterotyping is bad in of itself, but also because of the upbringing she went through. Why go through Sex Ed. if you're not going to live long enough to have kids? Genis Sage: If i could give him a hug, I would. He's adorable, and once you get past his grudge against humans, he's just like any other preteen boy struggling to figure himself out. In all honesty, he reminds me of my little brother, and since he's my little brother's favorite character, it all works out. Raine Sage: She makes me die laughing whenever she goes into Ruin-mode, makes me wince every time she slaps/kicks/spanks someone, makes me sympathise with her views on life in general ... She's a good, deep character, and she does not act like ANY healer I have ever met. True, Serra in RnK comes close, but ... Kratos Aurion: Okay, clearing this up now: I DON'T HATE HIM. The main reason I crack down so hard on him though is because he's ... kind of a irresponsible moron of a stone wall who can't forget about the past, but at teh same time, he seems the most human out of the rest of the group after Lloyd. He does have an ego stick the size of the Eifel tower shoved up his ass, but he's got to have SOME flaws. And although we can all TELL he LOVES his son to bits, he needs to give him a GODDAMN HUG. Seriously, Lloyd won't bite you, Kratos. Sheena Fujibayashi: Second favorite character after Lloyd. She's gone through a lot too, and while I might be taller than her, I know how painful it is to have that good of a figure (back pain galore). She too has guilt issues, but she's willing to accept that - like Lloyd - and attempt to correct her mistakes. And while she does shirk from making a pact with Volt at first, considering that she was forced into it when she couldn't understand what Volt was saying when she was 7 it makes sense that she should be at least a little wary. Presea Combatir: Another character that needs a hug and a lot more love. Once she regains her soul, she's struggling to cope with it, and it really can't be easy to adjust to having a 28-year-old mind in a 11-year-old body, now can it? She's also a powerhouse, plain and simple, and like Lloyd, she can't use any form of magic in teh game itself. Zelos Wilder: I must have a weakness when it comes to perverts, because I always cry when he dies/betrays you. To be completely honest, running around and hitting on women to get stuff is my biggest guilty pleasure in the game. He's got a deep backstory too, and you can tell through a couple of the overworld skits that although he's hiding it, he really just needs someone to talk to about it and accept him as well, Zelos. Regal Bryant: HE IS NOT A CHILD MOLESTER, DAMMIT! Okay, with that now out of the way, let me say that I really, REALLY don't understand why people don't like Regal. He's another favorite, and to be completely honest, he's a downright gentleman when all is said and done. He too has guilt issues (although not as much as Kratos), but he's willing to talk with others about it, and after a while, he seems to figure out that he isn't as guilty as he thinks he is. (Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken) Lyn: Total connection to her the first time I saw her. Tall, tomboyish, the farthest thing from a damsel in distress, very strong willed and kind, she's like all of us girls who all defy stereotypes and act like ourselves. When you need to rescue her from her home, she's leading her friends to help fight off the invaders alongside your troops. and in the Temple of Water, the only reason you need to save her is because the floor is randomly dropping away without a second's notice. That's teh only time you need to rescue her, because the rest of the time, she can rescue herself. Hector:Two words: HUMAN TANK. He's ridiculously tall and wide, with that girth being muscle, mind, and he's just as gruff and blunt as any pirate should ever be. Even though Hector's not a pirate (he'd certainly be a good one though). He might act gruff and harsh, but he's got a big heart, he just doesn't like to admit it at all. Not even a little. It's still there though. Ninian: another seriously underrated character. Yes, she is a typical damsel in distress, yes, she needs to be rescued, yes, she seems weak, yes, she's always crying about how she's decieving everyone. But let's face it: she's NOT. It's quite the opposite, actually: her powers are so strong compared to the rest of the group that it is hindering her. Elibe doesn't have that much energy for her to draw on, and without that energy, she can't do much more than support you, and it causes her emotional distress. Think of it much like how you have a big test the day after you've been sick for a week and unable to study for it; that's the way her mind works. Don't forget, after all, that if it weren't for Ninian, you would have to fight three dragons at full strenght. She kills two and severely wounds the third for you: can't get much stronger than that, now can you? OPINIONS ON MISC. ITEMS Canon fanatics: Canon fanatics are those who aren't brave enough to try and explore the multiple other possibilities that present themselves to our imaginations. Bible thumpers: I am Prodestant. if you aren't, I don't care in the least. I am here to write what I feel like writing, not to try and convert people to my religion. Hell, I use so many occult refrences that it might SEEM like I'm wiccan/occultist/gothic/diabloist, which I am not. Bible thumpers, be warned, I won't tolerate any of teh shit you try to pull on me. Pairing wars: Seriously, people, GIVE THEM A FUCKING REST!! If someone writes a pairing that you might not agree with doesn't mean that you have to mercilessly flame the other person's story. what pairing they write is a matter of their personal opinion. There are canon writers, there are original writers, and there are AU writers. This is FANFICTION people, we have freedom to write what we want to write as long as we do not claim it completely as our own original work. And anyways, with all the chaos in the world today, who the hell really gives a care about who ends up with who in a fictional story? Twilight: THIS BOOK SERIES MAKES MY BRAIN WANT TO GNAW A HOLE THROUGH MY SKULL TO ESCAPE. I don't know what the appeal in this series is at all, in all honesty. and the 'vampires' aren't really vampires: THEY ARE REINCARNATED DISCO BALL WITH A FUCKING GRUDGE!
