| asobi seksu |
Author has written 12 stories for Prince of Tennis, Code Geass, and Gintama. Who am I? I'm a seventeen year old girl whose been reading/writing fanfiction for a while. asobi seksu means playful sex (or casual sex) in Japanese . A person once told me that they once both cringed and laughed upon reading my pen name. I think that's a good sign I should keep it for at least a couple of years. xD Some people know me as "Resonance Breaks Glass" and some people know me as Tally. I go by any of those names. n.n I like... Reading, writing, emoticons, anime, classical music, and makeup tutorials on Youtube. Also, my favorites. I frequently dip into my stash. Most of them I would highly recommend - quite a lot of them are underrated, too. I love it when I find stories that develop characters for who they are. They really epitomize what "fanfiction" is - a story dedicated to a character they way they are in canon fiction. :D 1/23/12 update - I got into a relationship with a great guy. I can't help but consciously think that he's going to influence a lot of my stories - he just makes me super happy. My Community It's officially two years old! Huzzah. Just added some stuff to it, so if you're interested in a good OC fic you might want to check it out. :) Me and Reviews I love getting reviews. I like replying to the ones that ask me a personal question about the story. I don't review other writers very often, though; if I don't have anything to say, I'll just fave it or story alert or something. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING BAD, DON'T HURT ME. I'm not much of a critical reviewer. I can't criticize, really. If there's something that really bugs me then maybe I'd mention it but mostly I just use the back arrow and find another story. I really do appreciate concrit. It gives me direction. :3 About those who give me reviews only saying "Update soon" - Please, if it's not too much trouble, I would prefer you have something specific to say about my story, whether compliments or constructive criticism. I always do this because it means I'm responding to something that got a reaction to the story. Additional notes - I'm an "inspired" fanfiction writer, which means I write for fun when I have enough time. Sometimes I'm really stunned by epic length fanfictions, because I could never fathom putting that much effort into fanfiction. Sometimes I get tired of reading serious fanfictions as well, 'cause hell, it's a hobby. Some people are really into it though, and that's fine. My philosophy when it comes to people saying "it's so hard to find a good story in whatever fandom these days" - Not really! There's always been good writers, and some of them just go unrecognized. I think it's sort of a responsibility to recommend them to other readers so that they'll unconsciously imitate that style. You might be surprised sometimes (I know I am). Also, my other philosophy: when it comes to OCs, they should be written to explore and develop the personality of a canon character. If you want to write solely about your OC only in great depth, then it doesn't belong on fanfiction because it has to at least somewhat merge with the canon universe/characters/whatever. Take Yukimura Sayoko from Neon Genesis's "250 Dark Stars" for example - what's really remarkable is that there's a part where Tachibana An helps Sayoko out in a crisis even though she seems to be a cold-hearted b-tch. You get some insight into the person that An is, and while the point of Sayoko in the story isn't purely to showcase An's personality, the author also writes Sayoko musing, interacting, and talking with other canon characters. If you haven't read it and at the same time aspire to be a good OC writer, by all means, check it out pronto! My favorite pairings - Prince of Tennis: Tango, Silver, KiriAn, Troika, occasional Platinum Pair Gintama: OkiKagu, IkumatsuKatsura, GinTsu Code Geass: KallenGino, NunnallyRolo, JeremiahSayoko Naruto: KibaIno, SuiKa My favorite characters are pretty much anybody really strong (or at least useful), hot, and pretty much anything else goes. Note that I don't have to like a character to appreciate a good story, though! Naruto: Konan, Terumi Mei, Yamanaka Ino, Sasuke, Naruto, Lee, Kiba, Shikamaru Prince of Tennis: Atobe, Sanada, Tachibana An, Yukimura, Yanagi, Inui, Kajimoto, Shishido, Choutarou Gintama: Okita, Tsukuyo, Gintoki, Kagura, Hijikata, Mitsuba Code Geass: Kallen, Gino, older!Nunnally, Lloyd, Suzaku I just have to say how great Konan is as a kunoichi. I loooooooove her. She's beautiful, strong, semi-psychotic and the part where she bombs Madara is like, HOLY SHIT MOTHER OF GOD no one, not even Sasuke, has gotten far enough to actually harm Madara. Her powers are so creative and versatile! It made me sad when she died in the manga, but I'm happy that the Akatsuki Trio are together now. About me as a writer - I like slow development, so don't expect romance to erupt out of one corner. I'm a huuuuuuuuuge stickler for canon. I prefer to write the PoT characters in a high school setting. It just makes more sense to write them as 16-17 year olds rather than 14-15 year olds. Don't ask me why. Rikkaidai Fuzoku is like... my favorite tennis team ever. XD Sanada Genichirou is like... my favorite character in PoT ever. He's like an old man who's just really a misunderstood teenager who everyone thinks is scary. It's probably why he's my icon. Tango Pair (Sanada plus Atobe) is like... my OTP. Two beautiful, headstrong and insanely powerful tennis players put together? fffffffff yeah. Actually, the Three Demons are the awesomest characters ever, so... uh... Actually, they would make a pretty sick threesome, if you thought about it. (ohgodmymindisinthegutter) I love writing OCs, but reading them is another thing entirely. In order for me to like a pairing, I have to like both of the characters. I can, however, dislike a person and like the story though. :D I have been writing OCs for approximately five years. :P Here is my old account for people who want to look at the suckiness. I will probably not write anything in the future about Seigaku, although one of the ideas I had that I thought was pretty good was a member of the Chocolates interacting with Kikumaru Eiji (for those who don't know, that's his favorite girl band that writes pop music). You can steal that if you want as long as you give credit. About my stories - a blooming flower - Already put a warning for 2012. Considering rewriting the whole thing. Last Chance - Bleeeeeeeeeh. I'll Hold You in The Dark - third chapter going okay but probably not going to be updated anytime soon. Zero Regrets - I know where it's going but it's hard for me to come out with chapters. It's a great story and I just don't want to disgrace it. Everything else is either not going to be updated, but still there for the hell of it. Anyways, drop off a review - I'd like to hear what you like/dislike. About OCs in general (mostly regarding anime/PoT) I'll be honest. I usually don't read them. When the majority of fanfiction writers are 13 year old girls, you can pretty much predict where they're going to go. :/ My biggest pet peeves usually involve one or any combination of the choices below - a) they don't make canon characters a major part of the story b) or they cram too many OCs that I can barely remember c) they have a tragic past d) they have weird names (especially when it deals with the Japanese culture) e) they have too many relationships with varied canon characters (ex. someone's cousin transfers to a different school and has an instant connection to another tennis regular) f) they don't have compatibility with the canon characters I honestly don't have a problem with Mary Sues as long as they're well-written. But what I really dislike is... irrationality. Bad/cliched depictions of fangirls. Unrealistic scenarios. And so on and so forth. Like say for example the whole 'I think I'll just pick her 'cause a fake girlfriend would get my fans off my back' plot - it's been done to death. Although it's probable that someone could make it sound good and I never noticed. xD Or, the whole 'arranged marriage' thing. While culturally it is very plausible in Japan, it's unrealistic for Japanese parents to force their child to marry someone shortly after high school. Childhood friends are an iffy thing for me. I'd really recommend researching the canon for anyone who wants to take this particular route. There's quite a lot of gender segregation depending on what cultural context it is. For Japan, the average student is very shy about interacting with the opposite sex. n.n Thank you for reading. Please drop off a message if you would like to contact me. ~Tally | |||||
