Author has written 10 stories for Secret Garden, Juno, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Adventures of Tintin. Hello, I'm Expecting Rain. I love to read and write, so naturally I love this website, but thanks to real life I don't have nearly as much time to spend here as I'd like. I'm always writing, both fanfiction and my own stories, but I have a problem about finishing things: I always have so many ideas floating around in my head that I'll start something, get stuck or bored with it, start something else, get stuck or bored with it, start something else, etc., etc. So I've decided that before I post anything here, I will have finished at least the rough draft. This means that it will likely be a long time between stories, but nothing will go unfinished. Ideally, I will post many stories in many genres and categories, but we'll see what happens. So far, I've been unable to write anything that's not at least a little angsty. About reviews: I've noticed that my stories are getting one review for about every one hundred hits - this applies to chapters as well as to a story in its entirety, so I know people are reading. Two of my stories have been favorited more times than they have been reviewed. I can't begin to tell you how frustrating this is. If you've taken the time to read, please, please, please review. It only takes a few seconds, and something as simple as "I liked this" or "I didn't like this" is fine. I'm not just complaining for myself - I think every author here gets a little confused when they compare the number of hits to the number of reviews. About my avatar: I didn't really want to put a picture up, but the blank white silhouette looks really creepy, so I caved. I didn't want to put a picture up that shows what I look like because not too many people in my real life know I write fanfiction and I'd like to keep it that way, and I didn't want to steal an avatar from a website either because it wouldn't be mine and I'd feel guilty about stealing it. So these are my feet. I'm wearing bowling shoes - I don't normally wear shoes like that! I'm horrible at bowling - I think I scored about a 20 that night - but it was the only picture I had of me that didn't show my face! Well, I guess that's about all. I hope you choose to read my stories and I hope you like them; I try my best, but I know I've got a lot to learn - and, in the words of the Beatles, I'm getting better all the time! To close, I want to thank everyone who's read and especially those who have reviewed! Since I've got quite a few stories up here now (well, quite a few for me at least), I'm going to break them down by fandom and by status. Current WIPs Prisoners and Captives: a multi-chapter story; my attempt to make a cliched situation more realistic. (Harry Potter fandom, AU after HBP). Dirge: a collection of one-shots about characters mourning other characters in the aftermath of the Battle of Hogwarts (Harry Potter fandom). Fandoms The Secret Garden: my first fandom! I've neglected it a bit recently, but I'm sure I will be posting more in this fandom eventually. All stories here are completed. Forever and Ever and Ever: my first fanfic! A Good Year for the Roses: sequel to Forever and Ever. How Does Your Garden Grow?: angsty three-shot; not connected to either of my other SG stories. Harry Potter: the fandom I'm focusing on at the moment. Like a Lethifold: completed one-shot. Dirge: in progress. Prisoners and Captives: in progress. The Lord of the Rings: I love this fandom but don't feel comfortable writing more in it until I've reread the books - it's been a while! Waves Like the Sea: semi-stream-of-conscious short story. Always Torn in Two: one-shot. VERY different writing style from Waves Like the Sea. Juno: I love this movie but will probably not write any more Juno fanfiction. Malls and Minivans, TicTacs and Telephones: one-shot. Tintin: I have no idea why I had the sudden urge to write a Tintin fanfic. It will probably be my only venture into the (tiny!) Tintin fandom. Long Live General Tapioca: one-shot. Well, that's all! Hopefully something catches your interest! If you review I'll love you forever! | |||||||||
