Author has written 23 stories for Bridge to Terabithia, and iCarly.

As of December ninth, 2010, all multi-chapter fanfictions not previously deemed on hiatus or incomplete (Long Way Down, Shadow and In the Paradox of Wonderland) will be put on temporary hiatus until my current work in progress (tentatively titled Zenith) is completed. I promise all fans of the three stories listed above that they will be completed, eventually, but right now the start and ultimate completion of Zenith (or whatever it may ultimately be titled) is imperative to my continual endeavor into and my understanding of the universe of Bridge to Terabithia fanfiction. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I hope you will grow to enjoy Zenith once it is posted. :) I am currently in the planning and prewriting stages, and hope to begin the writing process by early January, 2011.

Oneshots both related and unrelated (most likely unrelated) to the Zenith universe will continue to be posted as the Muses kiss me. I am currently working on one short story/oneshot set in an alternate Leslie-Doesn't-Die universe titled Shades of Black and Gray, which has been in the works for the past two or so months. I hope to have it done once the holiday season has passed. Fingers crossed! ;)

My profile will be, for the time being, the "media hub" for the Zenith world. For those of you who are curious, Zenith is my personal rewrite of the 2007 Bridge to Terabithia movie, transforming it from a PG-rated Disney film that carried the expectations of being the next "Chronicles of Narnia" into a novel that - I sincerely hope - will read more like a young-adult story. Taking the basis of the Stockwell and Paterson script (which, of course, I loved dearly) and providing it with detail, pacing and character development that the movie wouldn't have been able to provide for both rating and time restrictions. I hope to explore the way in which Jess and Leslie's relationship takes on a more "adult" feel in the film than it does in the original novel, as well as provide insight into Leslie Burke that the sole focus on Jess left us rather void of. For fans of both the novel and movie, many of you are undoubtedly aware of the vast differences in the handling of the relationships, interactions and timeline. For example, in Katherine Paterson's original manuscript, Leslie does not hug Jess after he presents her with Prince Terrian. The additional emotional depth that the actors (particularly Josh Hutcherson, AnnaSophia Robb and Robert Patrick) chose to add to their characters combined with the addition of physical contact between Jess and Leslie (the hug and deleted hand-holding scene, which you can see a picture of here) leads me to believe that the characters are intended to be a bit older than portrayed in the novel. A great deal more information about the ages and timeline that will be used in Zenith can be read below.

According to actress AnnaSophia Robb, the movie was shot from late January 2006 until mid-April 2006. Since New Zealand experiences spring and summer during those months and it is verified in the film that Mrs. Meyers’s class is returning to school after summer vacation, I have decided that the timeline of the movie will run from from early September 2006 through (roughly) mid-February 2007 in order to make the weather changes flow with what would actually occur in Virginia.

Since the timeline variations in the book and movie are so vastly different that they no longer have any continuity at all—Christmas changed to Jess’s birthday, no mention of Leslie accompanying the Aarons family to church on Palm Sunday—I am choosing to create my own realm in which certain things occur. This encompasses a lot of things, including dates, ages, et cetera. As the movie itself really pays no heed to the timeline established in the book, my “re-imagining” of the film will do the same. Therefore, we will say that the first day of school at Lark Creek takes place on September 6th, 2006, and the Burkes officially moved into town on the fourth (the idea of Jess and May Belle not noticing their new neighbor and of Leslie being able to travel so effortlessly to school without being seen seems improbable to me; perhaps this was why Katherine Paterson chose to have her Jesse and Leslie meet for the first time outside of the classroom).

Turning the focus from time to ages, I have decided that, rather than Jess and Leslie being fifth graders like in the book, they will be sixth graders, as alluded to by Lauren Levine and Josh Hutcherson on the DVD commentary. AnnaSophia Robb herself was in the sixth grade when the film was shot, although the larger age difference between her and Josh Hutcherson would normally allow him to be in the seventh, eighth, or ninth grade by the time he was fourteen (which I believe he was). For easiness sake, however, we’ll say that the both of them are sixth graders. I’m choosing to up the ages of the characters a bit; rather than Jess being ten and turning eleven (the appropriate ages for a fifth grader); we’ll say he is twelve turning thirteen. In my mind, Jesse’s birthday is October 12th, 1994, Leslie’s is February 21st, 1995, and May Belle’s is April 19th, 1998. May Belle, then, is in the third grade when Jess and Leslie are in sixth; while I’m aware that Bailee Madison was around five or six years old when the movie itself was shot, I’m under the impression that the filmmakers wanted us to believe that the age difference between Jess and May Belle, or Josh Hutcherson and Bailee Madison, was smaller within the confines of the film then the actual eight year period that spans between the two actors. With the aging up of Jess and May Belle, I’m choosing to do the same with Ellie, Brenda and Joyce Ann: we’ll say that Ellie is seventeen, Brenda sixteen, and Joyce Ann five. The book makes it appear that Joyce Ann is slightly older than the two or three year old toddler that she’s portrayed as in the film, so this is my one nod to the book cannon. As for an older Joyce Ann, visually, I saw actress/model Mackenzie Foy circa 2006. You can view a picture of her at this link.

Continue checking back for updates regarding the progress of Zenith, additional information, and a "soundtrack". Thank you so much for taking the time to read my work. The support means more than I can ever express! :)
