You can call me Bookflower - my name doesn't matter.
You have probably guessed this from my very presence here, but hey, it might be a good idea for me to mention it: I love books! I read all the time, mostly fantastical and historical fiction. And I talk about books all the time as well. There are so many authors out there who write very well, but the ones that amazed me more than others, the ones who's books I couldn't put down, are: Lian Hearn, Trudi Canavan, Cornelia Funke, Stephenie Meyer, Tamora Pierce and Terry Pratchett.
I suppose that list makes it pretty clear I'm female...
I'm also in the middle of taking my GCSEs (yes, I am British) so updates probably won't be very common. In between working, I'm most likely to be reading, so writing, however much I want it to be foremost, will end up not at the top of my list of priorties...
As well, as reading, writing, and working, I horseride and fence. (One of my sisters jokes about me being pretentious with the sports I do...) I also cycle quite a bit, but don't get the wrong idea. I am not sporty! My school somehow managed to put me into a PE group with all of the really sporty people, who are on football and basketball teams inside and outside of school and take sports really seriously. PE has now become an extremely embarrassing experience. Every lesson I have to try my best not to totally humilate myself. As I said, I'm not sporty. Really, I'm an intellectual. This is supported by the fact that my favourite lessons are Maths (that one earns me many weird looks), Physics (that one does too), and, unsuprisingly, English. However, in the latter, I really do tend to go over the top. My lastest essay was 7300 words when everyone else was writing around 2000.
Hmm, as for my apperance... I'm tall - most people might consider me very tall for a girl, but seeing as I have a female friend who's 6ft, I don't really feel tall. However, as the youngest of three sisters, it is slightly bizarre that I'm larger than both of them, and my mother... I simply have no clue what colour my eyes are. Generally, it suffices to say that they are grey. I wear glasses, yet another sign of me being an academic... As well as being tall I'm quite slim. However, my most redeeming feature, I would probably decide, is my hair. Its a dirty blond colour, nothing particulary amazing, but its long. In fact, its past waist length...
Oh, and I really, really love quotes. Just some of my favourites (by no means all of them) are:
'The brave don't live forever, but the cautious do not live at all.'
'I, myself, have noticed by growing resemblance to a daffodil...' Neal of Queenscove (Tamora Pierce)
'You'll get a prince someday. Mine just took a wrong turn, got lost and is too stubborn to ask for directions.'
'You must never stop being afraid. For as long as you live there's something new to be afraid of. But that's no reason not to do it.' Afterdark Princess (Annie Dalton)
'The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going through them into the impossible.' Arthur C Clarke
'Worry is a misuse of the imagination.'
'Have the courage to live. Anyone can die.' Robert Cody
'A girl has to kiss a lot of frogs before she can say for certain that she has found her prince.' Princess Diaries (Meg Cabot)
'You don't have to kiss any frogs to find the Prince of Peace.'
In school today, someone called me a geek. Don't get me wrong, I didn't take offence - I call myself a geek. However, afterwards, my friend made a very amusing comment to me. She said 'Everyone has an inner geek. Yours just isn't quite so 'inner'...'
The fandoms I read in are mainly Tamora Pierce, Twilight, Alex Rider, and occansionally Harry Potter.
I haven't abandoned my story - Daughter - I wouldn't dream of doing so, but my life is so busy right now. I have exams, loads of work, college taster days, work experience, visits to see my sisters (both of whom live about 150 miles away). It will be updated, but I can't say when... I will update though, I promise!
