Kagome finally sees that Inuyasha will never be able to love her, so long as Kikyo's dead body wanders the world. In a rush of agony induced madness, Kagome runs away from everything she once held dear. She finds no point in breathing, and is intending to find a way to stop the now unnecessary habit, when she senses a sacred jewel shard approaching fast.
Inuyasha knows how he's scarred Kikyo; he knows how he's hurt Kagome. He knows that because of this, he doesn't deserve happiness, and the guilt and hurt he feels seems like the only thing he will ever deserve. He wont allow anyone to comfort him, and he intends to leave his companions so as not to bring them down with him. But that is something the monk wont allow, because he knows what Inuyasha deserves. Inuyasha deserves love. And Miroku wants to be the one to give it to him--share it with him.
