The name’s Mia—pronounced like the Princess Diaries character. I live on a beautiful island off the coast of Canada, doing a bachelor degree in psychology and film studies, and I used to publish under the name Yasashii Tsubasa, for those of you who are nostalgic.

I crochet my own sweaters, change the colour of my hair more often than is probably healthy, and occasionally I spin a tale or two. I used to write a lot of anime, and my award-winning Angel stories are still here, but at the moment I'm focusing on Criminal Minds.

I draw inspiration from Chuck Palahniuk, the writer of the original Fight Club novel (as well as many other brilliant books), as well as Timothy Findley and John Irving. Go check them out, especially Fight Club, which will inspire you greatly and scare the heck out of you.

My soundtracks are the incredible Canadian bands of the alternative scene: Stars, The New Pornographers, The Dears, Metric and Broken Social Scene. There's more to us than Avril and Celine, my friends, and a lot of it is damned good writing music.

I will review your stories and go into detail as to what I like or don't like; don't take it personally. I know all too well what it's like to be a new writer on this site, and it's my mission to help people improve their writing. I like reviews, too, so feel free to critique my work. I always like to know what my readers are thinking.
