Sometimes I will post my stories on Livejournal to see whether or not people like them; then I end up posting them here...

A hero is intelligent but not brilliant, maintaining a sort of childlike curiosity or mind-set for the whole of his life. He is motivated or unmotivated, but is thrust into a position of power against his will and without his knowledge. A hero has spirit, and enlivens all whom encounter him. A hero changes lives without meaning to.

Pairings (because I am a sappy romantic at heart...sometimes, and because sometimes I need a break from all the action-packed smashy-smashy that goes on in shonen):

Naruto: Sasuke/Sakura, Asuma/Kurenai (YAY, already happened!), Temari/Shikamaru, Naruto/Hinata

above are the pairings that I PREDICT/WANT in the manga, at the very end; I really don't believe that Tenten and Neji will be together, though I do love their fics

I think it'd be adorable that Hinata's little sister Hanabi will end up with one of the Rookie 9, but I don't know which...maybe Sai =) and yes, I know he's not one of the Rookie 9...I'm going to say Rookie 12, from now on, so it includes Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji; Hinata, Shino, Kiba; Sakura, Sasuke, Naruto; and Team Gai (Tenten, Neji, Lee)...or the Leaf-12 plus the Sand Siblings (Temari, Gaara, Kankurou)...so I guess the "growing-up" characters at the Rookie 9, Team Gai, the Sand Siblings...and Sai.

I predict that Ino, Chouji, Kiba, Shino, Lee, Tenten, Neji, Gaara, Kankurou will marry other nin not from their age-group...yes Gaara will find a sand maiden to call his very own...if one is a kage, one must eventually have offpspring...it's like a rule...except for Orochimaru, but then again, death is a rule, but Orochimaru broke that one for a while...

Naruto-crack: Itachi/Sakura, though I have enjoyed quite a few Kakashi/Sakura

Bleach: Ichigo/Rukia, Urahara/Yoruichi

Bleach-crack: Grimmjow/Apache, Ulquiorra/Orihime, Shirosaki(H!Ichigo)/Rukia

Favorite Female Characters:

1. Yoruichi (from Bleach; HELLO! she's freaking awesome in a fight; I think she may be my favorite)

2. Temari (from Naruto, because she's not like the rest of those whiny boy-crazy dolts

3. Sakura (from Part II of Naruto, because she's less of a whiny Sasuke-crazy dolt than before and because her smashy-smashy abilities made even Kakashi go O_O )

Favorite Male Characters:

1. Hatake Kakashi (from Naruto; because let's face it, he's just cool)

2. Aizen Sousuke (from Bleach; he's a manipulative what's not to love?)

3. Tousen (from Bleach; wish we could see more of him)

4. Sesshomaru (from Inuyasha; he pwns all)

5. L (from Death Note; he's brilliant and brilliantly weird)

6. Ulquiorra (from Bleach; super emo prince =D)

7. Hiei (from Yu Yu Hakusho; third-eye, hello?)

I'm starting to fall in love with Aido from Vampire Knight. He's just funny. And adorable. And really creepy sometimes.

Yeah, so most of the characters I like are male; go figure, most female characters, especially in shonen, are just downright annoying...and I don't like sappy romance manga, so...

I have a soft spot for villains, so naturally I adore Itachi, Aizen, etc., but the villain that I have never liked is Orochimaru from Naruto; he really irritates me so I was beyond pleased when Sasuke offed his sorry butt. I also have a love-hate relationship with Uzumaki Naruto. I like his cheerfulness and his quirks, but his idiocy irritates me. I read somewhere that Kishimoto sought to create an irritating character in Haruno Sakura, so I don't understand why he saw the need to create an irritating main character as well. It's great and all that Naruto is all cheerful despite his harsh past, but sometimes reading it, I forget that that even happened.

I guess what annoys me most is how Naruto is just idiotic and Kishimoto actually sought to create a character that wasn't all that bright ("simple and stupid" were his words)...but then Naruto sometimes has these strokes of brilliance. No. That's just wrong. "Simple and stupid" does not equate a character with a good head on his shoulders. It equates a simple and stupid character with a stupid head on his shoulders.

I can easily forgive Sakura, who can be idiotic, but who is also clearly intelligent (Naruto in Part II began to grow on me, but I will still forever despise his Part I counterpart). Clearly I'm biased; I like characters who are intelligent (but not necessarily brilliant), playful, and strong-willed. Witty and silly are good also. Trouble-makers are always welcomed.

"Clueless but intelligent" trumps "clueless and dumb." Count me prejudiced.

Kakashi has no flaws.

UPDATES

March 9, 2008 - Currently, I am working on what will probably be a somewhat long fic. It is byakuya/hisana, based on my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, because that is how I always imagined their relationship to be. The pairing itself is a fairly boring one, which explains its unpopularity. I also have some uaraha/yoruichi and byakuya/yoruichi stuff in the works. Maybe one day I'll delve into Naruto fics, but I'm content to reading the storyline for now...

April 3, 2008 - I'm putting my byakuya/hisana "Red Death" on HIATUS until the pendulum arc in Bleach plays itself out. I'd like to fiddle with the timeline for a bit, see how the characters in the arc are and what captains do what and which ones replace what. So, yeah, fic on hold. I think I'll just focus on Naruto one-shots, for now, since I've been obsessed for the past month with it. Now that the big battle is over (sadly) more things are on the horizon...though the latest from Bleach has made me return to the manga...a blessing after that failure that was called the HM-arc; I'm all for smashy-smashy battles, but the fights are becoming ridiculous. Hello? I want some tasty things called "plot" and phew, the pendulum arc delivers...
