Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter, and Alex Rider. Hi. I'm Tinsnail. I'm a fairly new writer here, and I hope to get your feedback on my stories. I'm posting work very intermittently. I could update more often, but I am a busy person, and I don't feel like committing that much time. I welcome (i.e. rabidly drool over) reviews for the purpose of becoming a better author. I have an original story which I would like to write, but I want to be a better writer first. I was raised on honesty, and thus, any and all critique, criticism and commentary on my work that you would be willing to part with would make me happy. The longer your review and the more brutally honest your critique, the happier I will be. Thank you to all of the people who have responded to my work. On a less diplomatic note: reviews which say nothing beyond "OMG i love this fic!! XOXOXO lol", or the simpler "update", don't make for a very good basis on which to judge how I am doing with my story. More importantly, they piss me off. I think its the chat-speak that rubs me the wrong way so much. Please don't send me this kind of review, because I may send you a rude response before I think better of it. I like fanfiction of Harry Potter, Naruto, the rare well-written Inu yasha, the similarly uncommon Alex Rider, Ranma 1/2, Legend of Zelda, and occasionally others (Skip Beat! most frequently). Bad grammar, spelling and usage bother me in any kind of writing, but I am guilty of such mistakes as much as anyone, so I can't point fingers. As you will see in my favorites category, I hold no prejudice against any kind of story or pairing with the nearly singular exception of incest (which is NOT 'hot', it's sick). I am only sorry that so many people wreck a good plot for the sake of developing a shallow relationship between characters who would realistically never have anything to do with each other. To that effect, I will not likely have "romance" be a central feature of my writing. IN MY FAVORITE STORIES, there is a fic called "Heir to a Warlord". It is my opinion that all of you who read this should go check it out. Not only is it well written and realistic (in the extreme, in some ways), it is also educational. If you don't like blood, it might not be for you, but give it a chance...this story is one that will grab your attention and hold you, fascinated, horrified and gleeful by turn. Done ranting for now. Enjoy. 2009-11-06 Hey guys. I felt very guilty regarding my elastic sense of time (at lest when it comes to updating). In a small act of reparation, I present you with: "The Plaque on 1504." I hope can forgive the deadened aura of angst it carries with it... At the moment, it is merely a one-shot. However, the original idea behind it was to send Alex on a lengthy mission with xXx character Xander Cage. So really, it's half one-shot, half prologue. One day, far into the future where I have finished with Research & Development, this idea may come to fruition. If you have ideas for such a plot, I would love to hear them. I am collecting plot devices at the moment. | |||||
