Me.

Well, what to say?

I've been having half-year spells of wanting to be a writer all my life, and then other stuff catches up with me again... I'm the sort of girl that's very fickle about her hobbies; one month I'll be into martial arts, the next I'll want to be a rocket engineer, and a year from now I'll probably be saving puppies with the RSPCA. So don't expect me to churn out a story a month, updating faithfully and everything. There could be three oneshots a day for a week and then nothing for half a year - who knows? I for one do not have a clue. There are some things about me that are certain, though. My name is Susan. I'm from the Netherlands. I'm 16, which means that over here I can drink but can't drive, can get a tattoo but can't vote, et cetera. I'm a little on the curvaceous side - long dirty blonde hair, green eyes, with an easy laugh that's never far behind. Never been with anyone on the long term - I'm a little scared of commitments like that. I don't have many friends, but those I do have count themselves lucky.

I am a reader, first and foremost; I love my books probably more than anything in this world and the next (which I don't believe in - pleasant atheist). It's the same with drawing and theatre; I'm a traditional artist, creating mostly pencil portraits, and am crazy about almost all musicals and plays, even if I've never actually performed in one myself. History greatly interests me, especially the ancient part and revolution history, such as the French Revolution, the Bakamatsu and the American Civil War, and medieval Britain as well. In fact, I have an inordinate love for anything British. I'm not kidding; the people, the weather, Shakespeare, the English language and literature, Strictly Come Dancing, Graham Norton, Stephen Fry, snooker, tea, scrambled eggs and quirky accents - I adore it all. Other random things I enjoy on a more or less regular basis are getting up early, swimming, the beach/ocean, little dresses, white flowers, stand-up comedy, working out, sailing, thunder, cheesecake, dancing my brains out and Mai Tais.

I greatly enjoy watching movies, mostly period dramas and fantasy films with a little romantic comedy thrown in the mix, and action here and there. Favorites include but are not limited to The Lord of the Rings, Titanic, Gladiator, Match Point, Children Of Men, The Last Samurai, The Other Boleyn Girl... Unlike all other teenagers on this planet, I actually don't have a preferred music genre or a favourite musician/band. I must admit I enjoy all sorts of music - rock, pop, folk, R&B, trance, classical music, metal... Currently my favourite song is Ave Maria by David Bisbal, but I don't think that will last long - most of my infatuations perish within a fortnight. Things I hate are bad grammar and spelling, unbelievable fanfiction, cigarettes, drugs, bad breath, unnecessary stupidity, arrogance (although I can't deny that in a man, I find it incredibly appealing - and I'm a sucker for a man in suit, especially when combined with jeans). I don't think there's anything else personal you need to know - if there is, ask and I'll enlighten you.

My Writing.

Alright, now for the part about my actual writing... I like flowery prose, a lot. Too much, actually - I often find it clutters my work and prevents me from getting my point across. It's one of my many issues which I hope to resolve sooner or later. I'm very finicky when it comes to what fanfiction, fandoms and pairings I like and do not like. I don't have an OTP - my OTP tends to shift every couple of months. Usually it alternates between NaruSasu, SasuSaku and SasuHina. There are also occasional spells of NaruIno, NejiTen, ShikaIno and KakaSaku. However, the first three definitely top the list, in whatever order. SasuSaku is a fave because there's a certain pre-destined quality about it, and an intenseness that intrigues me. I like NaruSasu because of the possibilities of their friendship turning into something more, the lovely banter between them, the way Sasuke's departure brings them together and various other things... I had reason to believe that it would become canon until Naruto confessed and ruined things for me.

As you probably already noticed, I'm not too fond of NaruHina. That's because it is 1) too predictable and 2) too plain. Point number 1 speaks for itself; we know exactly what kind of relationship theirs would be. It'd be infinitely sweet, with the both of them supporting their other half in their own way. But it's so clear. This ties in with number 2; I like my pairings complex, multi-layered, intrinsic. And NaruHina is just too there for me to like it. SasuHina, however... Now there's a pinch. Sure, it's as fanon as can be, but they'd have a certain chemistry that's just too interesting to pass up for more obvious pairings. Her soft, but constant gentle strength, often reminding me of a river, would be exactly what he needs to mend, whereas his fiery attention would be able to give her the confidence in herself she lacks. Both of them would make the other complete. And once he got his mind fixed on wanting her, there'd be a certain futility in anyone, even fate, trying to pry them apart. Plenty of 'underneath the underneath' here. I like that.

Naruto is my main fandom, but I also enjoy Ouran High School Host Club (TamaHaru), Rurouni Kenshin (SanoMisao, K&K), Bleach (IchiRuki, KarinHitsugaya) and Gossip Girl (Chair) a lot. And some other stuff... Basically I'll ready anything, so long as the characters are portrayed in a believable fashion and there is actual substance there. But I won't write everything - no yuri or yaoi and hardly any slash. It's just not my thing.

My Recommendations.

Since I'm such a selfless person (grin), I'll list my favourite FF.net stories here.

A Scandalous Proposal - This is one of the best NaruSaku stories around these days. No one will be able to resist Doc Destructo's eloquent, humorous style.

Seduce My Wife! - Another impressive NaruSaku creation by Doc Destructo. His portrayal of Naruto as loansome Hokage is very intriguing, and I felt truly touched by the story.

Konoha Wives - By the wonderful IbikiTeishi, this is a jewel of SasuSaku-ness, with wonderfully steamy encounters here and there. I swear this will impress you greatly!

Swallowed A Fly - Quillslinger truly outdoes herself here. The paring (Jiraiya/Naruto) is risqué, I'll give you that, but it's delivered superbly. That melancholy Quillslinger touch gets me everytime.

This Is How We Operate - Another one of Quill's stories, NaruSaku this time. One of my favourites because it's slightly more humorous. Incredible storytelling, truly had me awed. Her directness is astounding.

The Life Pursuit - NaruIno may seem like a fanon pairing, but Quillslinger proves that they match well in this masterpiece. This is incredibly funny and the interaction between characters is splendidly drawn.

Butt Out! - This story by Astra M made me laugh and cry, at the same time. It's the best ShikaIno I've found; go and read it, because it's an amazing portrayal of our beloved lazybum and beauty queen.

Biohazard - An incredible SasuSaku story, featuring everyone of our beloved Konoha 12. This story by Yellow Mask delves into Sakura's medical career in a stunningly realistic approach, is gripping and entertaining.

Ripples - A true Yellow Mask story, Ripples is a wonderful SasuSaku with a stunningly original plot and a strongwilled, ironfisted Sakura that will entrance a reader before the first chapter is done. One of the best!

Ikigai - And now a little attention for my favourite FF.net author, Lanse. All of her stories I would gladly recommend, but this is the best out of them, if I had to choose. A well-paced, magnificently set, original approach to a fanon pairing (SasuHina) that's realistic and very impressive, truly one of the best stories around. I also will you to read her NejiOC story, Ryukaze: Dragon Wind, in which her wonderful interpretation of Neji and the incredibly well-written OC Sorano will sweep you off your feet.

What Time Takes - I'm putting this last because it's FMA (EdWin), and not Naruto, but deserves to be mentioned. This Yellow Mask story is extremely intriguing and well-paced, reeling you in. A true catch.

My Stories.

Shukumei - My first serous multi-chapter, a Neji/Tenten story with bits of other assorted pairings. It's my possible interpretation of the relationship between Neji and Tenten and how it would develop... I love to explore their interaction, especially since Kishi-sama seems to take pleasure in ignoring the wiles of Neji/Tenten fans and putting Tenten-chan on a back burner. Well, I won't! Plenty of mushy romance mized with interteamial fraternization, very dry humour and some angst here and there. Everything you could possibly want! ;)

When Chuck Bass Burns - This is a little drabble-like Gossip Girl tale that came to me while I was watching episode 2:14 and pondering the nature of destructive relationships like the one between the moth and the flame. Who else to fit to this theme but Chuck and Blair? Also, it's an effort to exploit fiery adjectives, in order for me to enlarge my vocabulary and have you, the reader, envision the fires of passion.
