Why I write...

I always knew I loved writing but I only discovered my love of story telling after finishing the fourth Harry Potter book. I knew it would be some time before the next book was released and deciding that couldn't wait for it I began to write my own version.

What started out as one fanfiction grew into a series of sequels. Most of what I wrote was written before the book on which it's based came out and this is true for all of my fanfiction stories posted to date.

I do write my own books and have three major series, not one of which I've ever felt comfortable enough to publish. I'm just trying to develop my 'Voice' as soon as I can.

I've won awards for my writing before and had two poems, an opinion piece and a short story published in a local magazine for which later on I became co-editor of.

I couldn't imagine spending my time doing anything else other than writing. I mostly write with a pen and paper although when it comes to my own books I usually use the laptop.

I've always had bad spelling and grammar and suspect I am dyspraxic.

I'm currently entering my third year studying for my BA with honors in Film, media and journalism studies and currently posses a BETAC diploma in moving image and a FETAC cert in media studies.

I plan to use this site purely for my own enjoyment, reading and writing and maybe for some critical feedback which would be nice for a solitary writer. Who knows? Maybe I'll gain a few like minded friends along the way

Why say in a hundred words, what you can say in three?

If poetry is the window to the soul, then words are the glass.

An epitaph is only as good as the words it is written with.

Words hold little meaning, it's the emotions behind them that mold them into messages.

I wanted to say something philosophical and inspirational, but the words said it for me.

Words have a nasty habit of running from you when you pursue them.
