Author has written 5 stories for Naruto.

Hmm, let's see...

I'm a nineteen year old woman who lives in the scenic Rocky Mountains and has a penchant for writing about obscure characters with difficult characterizations. I'm also an incurable anime/manga addict who lacks the will to drag herself away from the computer screen long enough to live a normal, non-anime influenced life. They should have anime fanatics anonymous meetings; although I rather suspect that would fail...miserably. Ah well, I'm content with my obsessed lifestyle. Everything is all the better now that we have have created an official anime club here on campus. Nothing beats knowing that I'm no longer alone and that there is a whole group of people equally as crazy as I am. Halloween is quite useful since it makes finding cosplayers and anime/manga lovers to notify about the club that much easier. On a related note, my fellow cosplayer, and collaborator for Fangirl no Jutsu, and I found a pair of chibi Gaara cosplayers running around the sub on Halloween night. I'm ashamed to say I actually fangirled, scream and all. It must have been weird seeing an Itachi cosplayer screaming like a girl about how cute they were from all the way down the hall. I hope nobody had a video camera on their phone. L's cosplayer was awesome. She had the appearance and the mannerisms down perfectly.

My name is a secret, albeit an easy one to figure out, but you can call me Nephele. I'm currently attending college in Yamagakure no sato (inside joke...if you get it, chances are I know you), and I am an English major with a concentration in teaching. I'm also looking at adding a major in Japan studies, so I'm taking classes for that also. I have a deep love for languages and have studied French, Latin, Japanese, and for a brief year in high school, German (I don't remember much though). I'm bilingual, since I can only read/write Latin, and my Japanese is nowhere near fluent enough for me to include. Maybe by the end of the 102 class. I'm not about to claim fluency or knowledge that I don't have. I may be a bit arrogant, but I'm not self-delusional.

I'm a member of Anime Club here on campus, and of a (non-official) cosplay group. To that effect, I'm currently Uchiha Itachi, and I have some interest in cosplaying Nanao from Bleach also.

I love anime. I'd seen bits and pieces for years on Cartoon Network before I ever realized what anime was, but the first anime that I ever consciously watched was Inuyasha. That was also what sparked my interest in Japan, its history, mythology, and culture. Currently I'm fixated on Naruto, but I'm interested in quite a few other anime and manga (such as Bleach, Trinity Blood, etc...). I far prefer to read the manga since it doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out from too much filler and rampant changing of story lines.

Anyone who knows me is probably aware of the not-so-minor fact that I'm a bibliophile. I also like to read (I'd be surprised if anyone actually gets my reference here). I actually feel naked and bereft if I don't have a book or something to read with me at all times. Even if I'm not going to use it, I still need it. The same goes for a notebook. They are simply necessary items to my existance. I have bought books during my breaks at work because I forgot to bring one with me, and I keep one in my locker there at all times. I'm just a freak that way.

I've been writing for a good portion of my life. My fifth grade teacher actually spent a good deal of time making his students write in various forms (essays, business letters, penpals, plays, stories). I had lots of those papers saved up by the end of the year in mini-portfolios, and those were only the best ones we picked out. My high school English teacher (I managed to get her for 3 years in a row) also placed an emphasis on writing (this is the school system where they keep writing portfolios for each student from K-12), and I still owe her my gratitude for that. It was because of her and her awesomeness that I started writing independently of school assignments.

So, for non-school related writings, I've been writing since I was 13-14 years old. Of course, Hell will freeze over before anyone gets a hold of any of those fictions. It's bad enough that there are people out there who have read them. I discovered fanfiction during my general business class when I was 15 via The Very Secret Diaries of LOTR, Schnoogle, and Cassandra Claire. It didn't take long before I had discovered the realm of Inuyasha fandom.

It wasn't until after I moved to another state that I began writing fanfiction myself and actually posting it to the internet where other people could see it. This started about two years ago with Inuyasha (only AU) and within the last year has transferred itself over to Naruto (only canon).

Unfortunately, I have a mental block about writing without mass amounts of research because I need to be historically accurate when writing alternate universes (I won't put them in my own created worlds); and when writing Canon, I need to make sure that I'm not portraying events inaccurately. This tends to make me slow about writing and updating since I can't just sit down and write. I'm also a nitpicker about my own writing. I can beta for others and help them with their own writing, but I'm a really harsh critic when it comes to my own. I don't like the presence of holes in my writing or sentences that just seem off. It's wierd how that works.

We started a Writers Workshop for anyone who wants some help with their writing skills or just wants some people to BS with.

If you really want to know more about me, look me up on myspace or send me a message!
