Hey everybody!

My name is Smaginn, and I love to read and write fanfiction. I read: Totally Spies (SamxScam), HARRY POTTER (squee!), KND (not anymore really), and many others.

I have read so many excellent fanfics, because FanFiction.net allows almost anyone to publish their work. And yes, there are stories that are, to be blunt, complete crap (you want an example? Read one of mine. :P I'm being painfully honest here, because my stories were written when I was like, 8, and had no idea how to write stories. I only recently published them because a friend urged to me, and I was tempted by the thought of nice reviews.) but there are also these really deep, meaningful fics that I absolutely adore. These stories I will STORY ALERT. I don't like FAVOURITING stories, and there is no particular reason, so if I alert it, then either it isn't complete, and I want to finish it, or its really good, and I enjoyed it. Take your pick.

Okay, now my main focus is Harry Potter, in fanfiction. The real reason (besides for me loving to read and write) is that I seriously dislike a lot of things in canon, and like a lot of things in fanon. Simple enough. What I don't want is for JK Rowling fans to come at me with pitchforks and knives because I disregard a lot of things she wrote. I think JK is a great author, but she isn't perfect, and there are just countless of things I hate about her and her books, which I'm going to list out here. The real problem isn't her books, it is the way she herself thinks, and I think that is reflected in the HP series, and what pisses me off is her, really. I can't say she is a crappy author, because she's writing from her point of view and the way she thinks is different to mine, obviously. So please consider what I'm saying instead of jumping at me immediately, I'd appreciate that, thanks.

The whole Slytherin is evil, Gryffindor is good thing

Do I need to explain this any further? Even when JK tries to fix this by making Pettigrew a DE, and Regulas Black, Severus Snape etc. good guys, we still can't really shake off the whole Black and White perception. Even in the epilogue, Ron is warning his kids not to spend time with Scorpius and not to be in Slytherin.

The way Voldemort is so stupid, how can he call himself a Dark Lord?

Fanfiction has this extensive list of stories with battle scenes and everything. Honestly, I realise that HP is a children's books, but Voldie is so stupid, surely he'd be dead long before Harry was even born! He DOES NOT have a huge army like in fanon, he does NOT have greatly thought out plans, and he is so focused on a BOY that his world domination plans are crappy. -.-

The way Dumbledore is the ultimate good guy even when he is a manipulative bastard

What I love about Dumbledore is Arianna and the whole childhood drama. What I hate? That it only came out in the last book, that he manipulates everyone, but they still look up to him, how he treats Snape, etc etc etc. Basically, I don't mind his cunningness, but would people WAKE UP and realise Dumbledore is NOT the ultimate good guy?

The way JK bases Hermione on herself, making her Mary Sue-ish and super smart

Jo said once, "when I need someone to say something it will be Dumbledore or Hermione" not in those exact words. Hm... why Hermione? She's an obsessive know-it-all who constantly nags and whines and apparently, is the smartest witch of their generation. Talk about Mary Sue! And on top of that, guess who Hermione is based on? That's right, the author herself.

The way Harry is so not hero material, and is way too angsty in a bad way

Teenagers are angsty. I get that. I don't know whether Jo had a normal childhood or not, but the way Harry angsts is, to be frank, not the good type that we like to read about. It's the uncomfortable, JK, what were you thinking, type. Also, at least for me, we had romances as earlier as Secondary school, which means 11 or 12 years old. Wasn't serious, but felt like the world to me at the time. I get that Harry is not a ladies man, and probably Parvati or someone had boyfriends earlier but Harry didn't notice because he's so self centred, see below, The way only the Golden Trio are important and no-one else is. I like how Harry had a horrible romance at first. Realistic. I don't like how he married his second girlfriend. Unrealistic. Get the pattern? Also the most important nagging at the back of my mind thing about Harry is his personality. We get our personality from genetics AND the surroundings we grow up in. Excuse me while I scream BULL everytime Harry is a modest, kind, hero-like, brave person. If I were abused and neglected since one years of age, I would probably distrust adults, and be timid and shy. I certainly wouldn't back talk teachers and Uncle Vernon! I can see Harry going into Slytherin, seeing as he has to be cunning to get out of punishments, I can see him going into Hufflepuff, because he desires love and affection, I can even see him going into Ravenclaw, since he wants to be good at something, and has a thirst for knowledge. Gryffindor? Um... where exactly can Harry have picked up his "brave" traits? Uh... Dudley? I don't think so!!

The way the Ron Weasley is a jerk, and still is Harry's BFFL

I like Ron's personality. Why? Because he's REAL, guys. He has FLAWS. On the other hand, he shows up in book one, looking like a huge jerk, is better in book two, is mean to Hermione in book three, becomes a prat in book four, is WOW-ish in book five, FINALLY gets a girlfriend in book six, BUT because Hermione doesn't like Lavender, he looks ridiculous, and in book seven, he ditches them AGAIN. Nice best mate you got there Harry! So I like Ron, yes. Do I like the fact he's a complete jerk? Nope! I think JK was too concentrated on his flaws to realise his comical nice-ness!

The way Ginny isn't mentioned that much in books 2, 3, 4 and then pops up in book 5 and is perfect

This I just can't stand. She is just "Ron's baby sister" in three books, and then suddenly Harry notices her? Not cool, Jo, way not cool. And when she does pop up, she's this miss perfect BITCH who trips up Ron in order to embarrass him in front of Fleur? She's this fierce warrior who totally compliments Harry's personality (NOT!) and they have three kids together. Um... anyone say cliché and very unrealistic?

The way characters are so 2 Dimensional

Characters need to be developed. Enough said.

The way JK tried to fix things as the series progressed and fails miserably

I'll give her credit for trying to fix up her mistakes, but please, they aren't working, Jo.

The way only the Golden Trio are important and no-one else is

So this is kind of related to The way characters are so 2D, above. The Golden Trio are basically the only ones developed well (and not too well, mind you) and no-one else is. We get a nice little background on Neville, don't see him for about a book, and next time he's this brave Gryff going round getting crucio-ed by the Carrows. Okay, I like how Neville came out of his shell, do I think it's too sudden and doesn't work? Yes. And the list goes on with numerous people. We barely know who Daphne Greengrass, let alone Astoria, and suddenly she pops up at the very end and is Draco's wife. Nice, Jo, nice. I think people would prefer it if Susan Bones went off with Draco, even though the two don't match AT ALL, we know something about her!

Time Turners

Um. Does anyone see any major problems with having a device that allows you to travel back in time? No-one? Okay then.

And countless others... There are probably more, but I think I have ranted enough, and so that will be all for now. Note I have not stated the positive only the negative, so your impression might be that I HATE HP and JK. That would be wrong. I LOVE Harry Potter, but these are just a few aspects that I disagree/dislike.

Okay I have a few notices, and one is about stories that I have already posted. These will ALL be cleared up, and edited and reviewed. I'm thinking I will post up blah Version TWO up, and if people don't like it, I'll take it down, and if they like it, I'll delete version one. Does that sound alright? Good. Recently I have deleted some stories that I absolutely hate. Sorry for not posting up a notice on each story, but since they were not very popular anyway, I didn't feel the need to, and I am sure they won't be missed. Right. Now I'm going to summarize stories that have already been posted and upcoming hopefuls. Here goes:

Breathe Again- Completed. One shot. Kuki/Wally. K+. KND

We all know Wally is a huge sissy when it comes to water. Maybe Kuki can change that.

Hopefully will be revised soon, and Version 2 posted. Basically a short cutesy fluffy 3/4. Need I say more?

Desicion Making- Completed. Ten Chapters. T. KND

Sector V and more! 's THIRTEENTH birthday is coming up... will anyone choose betrayal to keep their valuable memories?

Most definitely absolute crap. Excuse my language, but I hate this story. It will be going under complete editing, and so the sequel will have to wait.

No Regrets- Incomplete. On Hiatus. 2 Chapters so far. T. KND

They've made their choices, and it's far too late to regret them now. Tangled up in a web of lies, deceit and cowardice, no-one knows who to trust. What is left of the beloved, noble Sector V? Will they ever re-unite?

Sequel to Decision Making, but I won't be posting any more of No Regrets until Decision Making is finished. Expect to wait for a very very long time. Sorry!!

Trilogy: Innocence, Dying and Heaven. Hopefully all three will be revised soon, and Version 2s of them posted.

Innocence- Completed. One shot. Wally/Kuki. T. KND

Kuki will never be the same again, not after what she has done in her little moment of rage. Wally is gone now, and he won't be coming back.

This was written way before Dying and Heaven so the story might not match up. I def. need to look into this trilogy.

How can Kuki live with her guilt and grief, after everything she has done?

I'm alright with this... not too happy, but I will make some big changes to the plot.

"Why can't you remember what she looks like?" - Wally feels ever more the alone, because even heaven is hell without her there.

UPDATE! I have revised this!! (Before the prequels, yes.) And I am satisfied. Dying and Innocence will be arriving soon, I swear!! :)

ExGirlfriend: Fire- Completed. 13 Chapters. T. KND

Wally promised Kuki forever when she left. But forever is a long time, and just 4 years later, Kuki returns to find that he has moved on... How will she cope? By exacting revenge on the unlucky girl, of course!

This is also very very bad. No sequel will be posted until revised!!

Upcoming hopefuls:

Metamorphasis- Chaptered fic. Eventual Dramione. T. Harry Potter

I'm not too sure on this one. I like Dramione Drabbles, and I detest Dramione Chaptered fics. Don't know why. My friend is forcing me to write this, and basically it is a cliche overused plotline, while still writing an original story. Seventh year, Head boy/girl, you know the deal. This will be the "main story", Butterfly Effect and Just a Moth will kind of be side stories, or prequels. They start earlier than Meta, but end later as well. So shrugs

The Butterfly Effect- Chaptered fic. Harry/Luna. T. Harry Potter

This will be a side story/or prequel to Metamorphosis, and will be told from Harry's POVs. Starts off Harry/Ginny, and ends up Harry/Luna, Ginny/Blaise. Basically Luna says something (because of whatever reason. That will be explained it the story) and Harry starts to obsess over what she said, leading to him falling for her, and Ginny going off with Blaise.

Just a Moth- Chaptered fic. Ginny/Blaise. T. Harry Potter

"I'm just a moth... attracted to the light that you bring/shine. And just like that light, you will be the death of me yet." Blaise Zabini will say this line somewhere in this fic, and he will be talking about Ginny. Goes on at the same time as The Butterfly Effect, but from his POV. Those two stories will be very related. Blaise is a nasty death eater Slytherin... right? So why is Ginny so intrigued, and why, for Merlin's sake, does he keep staring at her?

Life's but a chessboard- Chaptered fic. Pansy/Ron. T. Harry Potter

Side story to Meta. Pansy is being forced to marry Draco (he doesn't know it yet though) and she doesn't want to. The only way to get out of this mess is to marry someone of the same age, and has Malfoy blood in him... but there isn't anyone, is there? And then she finds one particular match- Ron Weasley. Will he be able to give up everything he's wanted to marry this Pug-faced girl in Slytherin? Not bloody likely! Pansy must pursue and start this game of seduction!! (The title might not make sense, but basically Pansy is tired of being a pawn for her greedy father, and now she is a queen, reading to manipulate Ron into liking her... but Ron is equally good, if not better, at the rules of chess.)

Learn to Fly- Chaptered fic. Draco/Hermione. T. Harry Potter

Sequel to Meta, this story will continue a few years afterwards. I can't reveal too much because it would spoil Meta's ending otherwise. The title might still change, though.

Where is your Cocoon- Chaptered fic. Parvati/Dean OR Lavender/Seamus. T. Harry Potter

Side story to Meta. Parvati is with Seamus, and loves him... and Dean. Dean is with Ginny (briefly) and loves Parvati. Lavender is with Ron, and loves him to the point of obsession. Seamus is with Parvati, and loves her... and Lavender. So how will this work out?? (The title is a bit strange. Cocoons protect you, so the title is kind of like, where is your protection? Hope that simplifies it.)

Plot Bunnies:

Okay, here is the deal. These are some very detailed plot ideas for some stories. I'd like to co-write them with someone, or give them up for adoption. If you do decide to completely take over any of these stories, I would like to know. That isn't a request, that is a demand. I'd like to read how it goes, and offer any advice if needed. Oh yes, and if you have read any similar stories, please tell me too. Thanks! I might do some kind of Plot Bunny story, with random stories and drabbles coming in, similar to Odd ideas by Rorschach's Blot, go check that out if you can, it is good!! In the meantime, this is what I have so far!

Untitled- Chaptered fic. Ginny/Tom. T. Harry Potter

Unknown to everyone else, Ginny fell in love with Tom while communicating with him through the diary. Resentful for Harry killing Tom, she plots to resurrect the diary. Several options- One, Ginny was completely aware of the basilisk, and wishes to clean the world of mudbloods, alongside Tom. (Ginny is dark) Two- Ginny is not dark, and has fallen in love with the future Dark Lord. She aims to change him, and succeeds. Three- this is an option I dislike, and that is Ginny realises she was mistaken, deserts Tom, and ends up with Harry once more.

Untitled- Chaptered fic. Lily Evans/?. T. Harry Potter

What if Lily had been a little more selfish? A little more self-preserving? A little more shocked? What if Lily had stepped aside when Voldemort gave her the chance, how would that change the timeline? Drastically, of course! First of all, Harry would have died, Voldemort would have lived. Some may say that Lily is too OOC, but how would you react when a dark lord shows up at your house? I would probably freeze and obey him, while thinking of plans to shoot a spell at him while his back is turned. Lily is either shocked, or has some inner Slytherin in her. Regardless, she is then taken back to the HQ of the Death Eaters, and is kept as a "guest", and treated nicely. It will either be Lily/Severus, as he rescues her out, or Lily/Voldemort, as she begins to understand him, or Lily/Death eater, possibles include Macnair, Rookwood, Nott, Avery etc. Lily can either be light, and ends up with Severus, or dark and ends up with some death eater. If with Voldemort, she can be light, and tries to change him, or dark and accepts him. If she turns dark, it has to be gradual and IN CHARACTER! If she is light, there must be some kind of "betrayed" guilt feeling.

Untitled- Chaptered fic. Luna/Draco. T. Harry Potter

I love Luna. I love Draco. I love Luna and Draco. Makes sense, doesn't it? I have some conflicting ideas here. One is that Luna and Draco are romantically related, and there are loads of ideas. The second is more curious. Luna is Draco's cousin. What?! Well, let's take a look at the evidence, (1) Luna has blonde hair similar to that of Draco's. (2) Although Luna is quite mad, Draco doesn't bully her, like he bullies Neville, for instance. (3) Luna's mother is dead. Can anybody say suspicious? I'm thinking not so accidental, here! The rest is up to your imagination!

One more thing about Luna. I dislike it when authors make her normal. Not quite following? Here it an example:

Luna: suddenly very serious This is in fact a mask I hide behind. I am not in fact, looney, and I care about people making fun of me.

er... subtle much, guys...

Thing is, Luna is quite... odd. She is quirky. She is fun to write, so what's the point in making her normal? I read this really great story (Forgot the name. sorry!!) from Luna's POV, and she is insane. On the other hand, her comments are often very insightful, aren't they? So is she crazy? Probably not. I'd say she's more observant, more clever, and definitely unique. Maybe she isn't "normal" but that is a good thing guys! Normal people are so boring to write about! (Not true, but anyway) Luna is Luna. How can you make her into someone else? (Well you could. It's called OOC) But I digress. There just aren't enough Luna fics out there, you know?

George + Angelina = True Love despite Fred?

Just a few words this time, guys. Here is the deal. If the person you loved died, would you go off with his twin and name your son his name? Likewise, if you were a twin, and your twin died, you wouldn't go off with your dead twin's lover would you? Well, you could. And that is what Angelina and George did. Think about it, they are both mourning the same person, it is both creepy and natural for them to bond. What we need it the perfect blend of the two, and I haven't read one that is just that- a blend of the two. Think of it as a challenge. :D

Update I've just had a thought. There is this story I've read where a twin dies, and the other twin lives, and he names himself the dead twin's name. Freaky, eh? But what if George died, and Fred had his ear cut off? Or Angelina never went to the ball with Fred, she went with George? Or George asked her out, but Fred went on the date? etc. etc. etc. Think of all the possibilities!!

When I think of any more good ideas, I'll post them up here. In regards to the note below, again, I will not be posting up one shot ideas, because I'm pretty sure I can do that myself. I just have little patience for long chaptered fics. Most of these stories, I will be honest, I cannot get around to. In fact, I'm questioning whether I shouldn't just delete all my KND stories and forget about them. Surely they wouldn't be too missed? I'm lazy, and that is exactly what I need to change. Pity I can't see myself getting up and doing anything useful anytime soon. :)

Things that might just be interesting

Stories that portray "bad people" sympathetically. Dolores Umbridge, Peter Pettigrew, Petunia, Marge, Dursleys basically etc. Not the major baddies, there are enough swooning fangirls of Lucius out there, thanks!! (Not trying to be mean, I used to be a fangirl myself, but that isn't what I'm looking for.)

What's strange? The fact that there are so many Harry-goes-back-in-time stories, that either are hilarious or serious. Why aren't there any Draco/Pansy/Hannah/Neville/EVEN GOYLE goes-back-in-time stories? There are Hermione and Ginny, so I didn't include them, but you guys!! Think outside of the box, please! Those would be more interesting anyway, don't you think?

Do you know what I absolutely hate?

Like, even more than bad grammar, wrong spelling, horrible plots, no characterisation...? OCs. Come on, guys! JK has mentioned in passing several hundred people that haven't been developed. Why do all these readers feel the need to make up who are Ginny's room-mates, when we know they are Vicky Frobisher, Demelza Robins, Romilda Vane? (This information may or may not be accurate.) So many characters, guys. Su Li, for example. She is one of my favourites- and can you tell me FIVE stories where she has been included? No? Didn't think so. Can you come up with five where OCs are asian, and are in Harry's year and is in Ravenclaw. Probably, but they're called something different, and they are an OC. ugh. I hate OCs. I don't read stories where OCs are main characters.

A Note:

Random one shots won't be included here, though. Just to let you know. They will most likely be spontaneous anyway. All these upcoming hopefuls will have to wait until my KND already posted ones are revised and up. Sorry! Another thing worth mentioning. Meta will be co-written by Theena.x. Also, if I use some of your things in my stories, I apologise sincerely, please send me a link of your story and I will check if it is indeed your story I have taken some ideas. If it isn't, well I'll tell you that. If it is, then again I am sorry, and I will make sure to credit you. The Butterfly Effect is going to be taken from another Harry/Luna story but I really can't remember what it is called. Basically the idea is that Luna asks Harry whether he feels any sparks when kissing Ginny, and when he replies no, he is confused and wonders who would have that spark. The answer is Luna, of course! Please tell me if your story is similar to what I have just written, and if it is, I'll be sure to keep in touch. Thanks.
