In these darkening hours of midnight and madnight, when Truth and Reality twist in the Veil, join me at my fireside. Sit and partake of my hospitality, tea and scones are to your left on the end table. Watch the fire burn, fed on the remnant scraps of my hopes and dreams, with the minuscule blurbs of my written words kindling to the flame. Be not alarmed at the shadows that scurry across the walls in the corners of your eyes. Tis only your imagination at play. At least, tell yourself a lie if it will set you at ease. It's a strange place, my abode, caught in the crux of twilight and dusk, the shuttered light from beyond a pale shadow of possibility. I'd offer to light a candle, but I'm afraid I'm all out. The candle seller stopped coming by my door ages ago. This grey facsimile will just have to suffice. If the feeble light does not hamper you, then please come sit at my side. Share a poem, a prose, a heartfelt sigh. Let out all your frustrations, cry out your tears. I shall never say a word. For words have power, terrible dangerous power, and once spoken, can never be recalled. I cannot guarantee that I'm the only one listening. And who knows how the words will be interpreted. But, if you say the right words, the true right words, we may just be able to whittle this stolen dream in time away. It will be difficult, there isn't much time, but what's a reward without a little risk? I'm a bit of a gambler myself. Care to make a wager?
