Author has written 27 stories for Labyrinth, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Avatar: Last Airbender, and Detective Conan/Case Closed. So, curious about Dire-chan are we? Well, let's see what I'm willing to spill... I am a perpetual junior working towards her bachelors in Mechanical engineering. ( Perpetual in the sense that I ran off to Japan to study abroad for a year, then came back to the States to work on junior year classes, only to find out that by not taking one class this spring, I've now delayed my graduation by a whole friggin year. So not fair. Stupid college of engineering and their pre-requisites that they don't inform anyone about and year-long classes only being offered in the fall and evil thermo teachers who like to fail everyone. Friggidy fraggidy baloh bimbah. Excuse my sad excuse for muttered cursing. And the rant. I just feel like I'll never escape sometimes.) Also, don't be scared off the engineering part. I swear I'm human! I've been reading since before I can remember - my first favorite book was Chika Chika Boom Boom. (It's an alphabet book. In rhyme. Might explain why I like poetry so much.) Early elementary was Goosebumps, Fear Street, Christoper Pike - anything with horror. Explains my love of the macabe. Fifth and sixth grade was Animorphs. Middle school introduced me to Robin McKinley and Patricia C. Wrede. Ninth grade was fairy tales and Tolkien. Sophomore year was Brian Jacques - I think. Junior year was the classics. Senior year was Narnia and Sunshine, my two favorite books for all time. But from sixth grade on, I've been cruising library shelves. College has seen me through Artemis Fowl and Scott Westerfeld. Or at least it has these past two weekends. (Yes, I do read that fast. Not that you care what I read, or how fast or how long I've been reading, but just giving you a head's anyway. Who knows? I might have obsessive stalkers.) Cooking is a great passion of mine, as is pottery. Not the making of pottery, but the buying of it. You have no idea how happy I was to discover that Noritake is headquartered in Nagoya where I studied last year. Definitely brought back some china with me. Best find was a six person Noritake china tea set, with the sugar bowl and everything. Only 1000 yen. Which in American dollars is about ten. Top that! Also found some Calvin Klein plates from the 100 yen shop. Had to bring back those plates just for the 20 US retail sticker on the back. Spent three dollars on what would have been sixty state-side. God, I'm good. If you didn't notice from the paragraph above, I'm also a sales shopper. When you find deals like those, how can you not? Writing is something I've always wanted to do, but kept putting aside as I didn't have the time. Typical excuse, right? Well, my year in Nagoya gave me the courage and free time to start up again. So I'm thankful to Japan for that, if nothing else. But the 23 pages of poetry and ten short stories in various stages of completion doesn't hurt. I have a muse, but she has no name, unlike some people cough katie-chan cough. And now I'm randomly thinking of the song: "Oh I went through the desert on a horse with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain. In the desert, you can remember your name cause there ain't no one for it to give you no pain. La la la lalalala lalala la la." And I've just spent the past minute or two trying to correct the la la la's. I'm sad, I admit it. This randomly bursting into song isn't helping my "Oh look, isn't she just nifty!" persona. (Wait a minute: nifty? Who am I, Thelma from Scooby Doo? Aye yai yai.) And because someone did ask me this once: Yes, I am a girl. What age? None of your business. From where? The USA. That's all you're getting. Name? Nah, don't feel like sharing. But it starts with one of the twenty-six letters of the alphabet, if that helps. Looks? Use your imagination. (But I ask that those imaginations be used in a good way. I'd rather not be likened to Baba Yaga.) Weight? Oh HELL no. That's like asking a woman if you can look into her purse. It's just not kosher. ...and I've probably scared people off by now. Wonder if that's a good thing? The world may never know... Breaking News! Nothing at this point in time. Sorry folks! My life's just not that interesting. So... Thank you all you wonderful readers, reviewers, and lurkers who have come to my profile page! Here's hoping I'll keep going strong! | |||||||
