Hmm… about me.

Well, I’m a college student who loves God, her family and friends, music, dance, art, and literature. I’ve always been an avid reader, and in middle school I developed a passion for languages and for writing as well.

Since I started high school I’ve been pretty short on time, so most of my training and development in writing happened through essays, articles, speeches, and the like. I haven’t written fiction in six years or so. Recently, however, I started hanging out over at a website called The Lion’s Call, where there’s a great group of Narnia-based fan fiction authors. I began playing around with plot bunnies, and have found that I enjoy it nearly as much as non-fiction… perhaps I’ll like it just as much, once I get more accustomed to it.

My favorite authors include Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Dickens, Milton, Robert Louis Stevenson, and other such classic British fare, so my writing style and reading preferences do tend to reflect that slightly archaic flavor at times.

As far as fanfic goes, I haven’t ventured very far outside of the Lewis archives, though I’ve no aversion to other genres. However, I do prefer really original plots, rather than simply continuations or re-tellings of an existing story, and I love it when the vocabulary, characterization, etc. are really closely modeled after the style of the original work.
