History

My name's Dawn and I'm British, from the West Midlands (near Birmingham). I live with my hubby, with three cats), in a little house with roses around the door and a picket fence. Well, it's a castle really. As you know, all Brits live in castles, it's the law!

I first started reading Nancy Drew after I'd worked my way though the entire Famous Five series, then one day, looking for something different to read at the library, I happened upon the Hardy Boy books. Struck by how similar looking they were to Nancy, I picked one up and began reading. Never stopped reading them since. And to be fair, I'm probably too old to be reading them now, but HANG IT ALL, if people of all ages can read Harry Potter, then I can have my fill of Frank and Joe, can't I?

I've been writing fan fiction since 2000, 'Stranger and Stranger' being my first story, and really something of an experiment. I started writing it after coming across HB fan fiction on another site, and decided to have a go and see if I could do a Casefiles length story. Much to my surprise, I could. The fact I could plot a story was the most amazing thing!

Later, I felt I wanted to write Frank and Joe older, give the stories a bit more of an adult feel (and by adult, I don't mean 'adult') - I mean a Frank and Joe for older fans. Fans like me who have grown up reading them and would like them written with a bit more umph and us in mind! More complicated and entwining plots, packed full of surprises, and ones which give more of a flavour of their private lives. Finally, I wanted to build some of the secondary characters up, make them less one-dimensional.

I hope I've managed that.

So if you're this way minded, I think you'll enjoy my stories, so come on in and have a read.

Background Information

Frank and Joe are now working for their father, Fenton Hardy, in his Detective Agency (as they've always planned). Joe and Frank are both living away from home, in separate places. Frank (age 23) has an apartment in downtown Bayport and drives a red convertible. Joe (age 22) lives in a Houseboat with a cat called Rufus and drives an old clunker car and/or a black motor cycle. Sam Radley has recently retired, leaving Fenton partnerless...but not for long! Aunt Gertrude no longer lives with the Hardys. Frank is no longer dating Callie, but Joe is still with his Vanessa.

Miscellaneous

Just as a point of reference. I always ALWAYS complete every story before I start posting it up. I hate it when people write about eight chapters, and then just disappear off the face of the earth. You won't be getting that from me. When/if I include Nancy Drew in my stories, she doesn't take over, so you hard-core HB fans (especially you Joe Hardy fans) can be safe in the knowledge that they won't end up her 'sometimes sidekicks' and Joe most definitely has as much page time as Frank.

Story Order

This is quite important as I'm writing them as a series. So for your reading pleasure I would recommend you read them in the following order:

Stranger & Stranger

Pandora

Boosting

However, if you don't read them in order, you'll still know what's going on as I write them from the viewpoint that every reader hasn't read the others first.

Other Notes

If it's slash fiction you're looking for, or stories strewn with sex or hard-core cuss words, well I'm afraid you won't find it here. I write with the viewpoint that Frank and Joe (and Nancy) are children's book characters, and I prefer them to be safely accessible for children. So if that's what you're looking for...move along, there's nothing to see here!

I don't own the copywrite for the Hardy Boys, I'm just playing with them, and I'll put them back when I'm finished. If someone from Simon & Schuster should come along and see what I've written, I hope you like it and don't mind. And if you do like it...give me a job! I'm terribly cheap! LOL
