Author has written 17 stories for Final Fantasy VII, Labyrinth, Legacy of Kain, Lord of the Rings, Phantom of the Opera, Peter Pan, and American McGee's Alice. I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's; I will not reason and compare: my business is to create. — William Blake Greetings, I’m a useless individual that is fully a romantic dreamer and no longer a partial existentialist. I have cast aside the latter, since my bittersweet ignorance was terribly wrought in vain. My horrid, pessimistic notions are usually perplexing and arcane to the average, adult mind. Actually I’m a little cynical when it comes to being serious, so forgive me if I laugh at someone getting electrocuted by a shock-box. My main interests on this material plane basically contrive of spiritual beliefs, family, and of course, writing. (Without these elements, I doubt I could exist.) I enjoy the art of expression, whether it is performing or visual. However, doing photography is a different matter… Horrid memories, don’t ask. Reading is also an atrocious addiction that I cannot seem to overcome. My taste runs to those that catch my interest within the first, few, precious moments, and hold me until the inevitable end. It is rather saddening when such a rare, captivating story can hold my brief attention, and make me shed tears when it ends… But, I have a good cry and move on… Current Projects/Stories I am Working on: The Mask's Lament: Continuation of 'The Phantom of the Opéra.' This story is based on the original novel by Gaston Leroux, which gives a plausible what-if scenario of Erik managing to have his Christine, after all. Their journey, combined with a suspicion of an attempted murder, leads both down a winding path of intrigue and fantasy—one that inexorably leads to the realisation of something ordained, long before they ever met. (I plan for this story to be extremely long and very drawn out.) Expect semi-current updates on this one. (Note: December 31, 2007: As today marks the four-year anniversary of my posting The Mask's Lament, I had every intention in having a new chapter posted. Yet notwithstanding mine own, personal desires, with family and school, I have had very little time to work on it. I must apologise to those who have, and are, reading this. I will not have another chapter posted today. I am sorry. However, I have no intention in abandoning this story. I have worked too long, and far too hard to do so. I cannot promise when I will post again; however, know that I will hopefully get this story completed one day soon. Again, I wish to thank everyone who has read, commented, and added this story to their favourites. I greatly appreciate it!) Promise of the Last Kiss: Based on both the J.M. Barrie novel and the 2003 'Peter Pan' film, Promise of the Last Kiss is a continuation of the fanciful tale of a boy who refused to grow up, an antagonised captain who only dared to dream, and the one woman who was torn between them. The obligations of having to accept responsibility and the inevitable setting aside of childish things comes to the forefront where the young Wendy Darling has to finally grow up and choose. (This story will be almost as long as The Mask's Lament, as it delves into the mysteries of the human heart, and the journey one makes when growing up.) To Analyse a Murderer: As previously mentioned in September, I have finally decided to write this story, as I had found it, rather sadly, lying amongst some of my old notes for The Mask's Lament the other day. I should have written this five years ago. Seriously. I cannot believe I had almost forgotten it. No matter. I intend to write it now, as I finally posted the first chapter. And I have decided that, instead of having this to be an overly-long oneshot, it will be comprised into five shorter parts. It seems easier for me to write it that way, as all I can say is that this story shall take place in between Idle Recollections on a Red Death and A Moment's Absolution, and will be set seven years after the first. For those who are interested in the dark, morbid, and grotesque, added with a heavy dose of romance Recollections-style, then be prepared for a very long and analytical study of the human conscience, and the painful realisation one makes in understanding the concept of good and evil in its most visceral of forms. The late 1880s are not the best of years, when defining the good of humanity, as Christine comes to understand. This shall indeed be updated regularly. (Also, too, both Idle Recollections and A Moment's Absolution have been updated and corrected for those curious.) A Haunting Reflection: Is another story devoted to the world of Peter Pan and its characters. Like some of my other works, this story will be dark, intense, and hopefully, one that will leave a person thinking, well after the story ends. I do not intend for this story to be overly long, since I am working on so many other stories at the moment. But yes, for those of you who enjoy very dark and hopelessly romantic—as in Romantic Poets William Blake/Wuthering Heights/Jane Eyre romantic, not Harlequin Romance romantic—stories filled with horror, suspense, guilt, forgiveness, redemption, love, as well as having a bit of light at the proverbial end of the tunnel, then A Haunting Reflection may be a cure for those averse to fluff. Even though...fluff can be nice sometimes, though not for this story. Indeed, I doubt Hook would allow 'fluff' in any way, shape, or form for this story, in particular, as this shall also be a very dark take on the Hook/Wendy pairing. Really, sometimes dark romance can be just as beautiful and riveting as that of light. But now, I am waxing poetic! -.-; Expect very current updates on this! ;) Upcoming Tin Man Oneshot: I have been working on this one for quite a while now, and I have just finished it. I intend to post it, I believe, sometime by next month. It is fairly long for a oneshot, but one, I hope, will appeal to those who enjoy the series! ;) Traitor of Dreams: A continuation of 'Labyrinth.' (Currently, I am not working on this story.) And now, here is an updated list on some of the fictitious pairings that I so admire: 3:10 to Yuma: Ben Wade/Alice Evans (But only under very special circumstances, given the storyline of the film.) Alice in Wonderland/Alice Through the Looking Glass: Alice/Hatter (Sheer and utter madness there, I realise! But oh, so incredible, too! ;) ) Devil May Cry: Ah...Dante/Trish? Nero/Kyrie Definitely! (They are rather cute together! Now, if only those horrid demons would stop interposing on their most affectionate moments together! Nero cannot even get a single, measly kiss in, for crying out loud!) Dracula: Dracula/Mina (Yes, I have now found myself completely captivated by this pairing. So terribly sorry, Jonathon!) Fairy Tales: Rumpelstiltskin/The Miller's Daughter, Red/Wolf (Well, that is, only if the wolf is actually a werewolf. For me, I find the classic, age-old story more interesting that way, if not more cohesive to the overall plot.) (Grins.) Frankenstein: The Creature/Elizabeth (Really, I truly feel that the Creature was more deserving of Elizabeth's affections, compared to that of Victor. I honestly detest that man. —.—') The Gemma Doyle Trilogy: Ann/Charlie, Gemma/Kartik (Though preferably the former.) Greek Mythology: Eros/Psyche, Hades/Persephone (The latter being my favourite.) Final Fantasy VII: Cloud/Tifa, Sephiroth/Aerith, Vincent/Yuffie (All three pairings are cute.) Labyrinth: Jareth/Sarah (The potential chemistry there is so wonderful!) Phantom of the Opéra: Erik/Christine, Raoul/Meg (On Erik and the haunting Other Woman...I cannot bring myself to consider the possiblity, for I truly believe that Christine was meant for Erik, as my deep conviction in them blinds me otherwise... Of course, I can also view the sweet, naïve love Raoul and Christine shared in the novel, too... However, for my latter choice in the aforementioned part above—Raoul/Meg—I really can explain that, though it would take me a little past forever and a day...sighs...) Legacy of Kain: Kain/Umah (Forgive me.) Lord of the Rings: Aragorn/Arwen (One of the best canon couples in literature!) North and South: Mr. John Thornton/Margaret Hale (Loved the 2004 BBC version of this. Thornton and Margaret have to be one of my favourite canon pairings because of it!) Peter Pan: Hook/Wendy (I have my reasons...) Pride and Prejudice: Jane/Mr. Bingley, Lizzy/Mr. Darcy (I only wish Darcy faced Wickham in a duel, much like what had transpired in Sense and Sensibility—however briefly mentioned though such a thought-provoking event was—as Colonel Brandon nevertheless gets a point over Darcy on that! Oh, and has anyone else ever noticed that, with perhaps the exception of Captain Wentworth, a few of Miss Austen's villains' last names begin in either W or C? Just a thought...) Robin Hood BBC: Robin/Marian, Gisborne/Meg (Because Gisborne needs love, too!) Sense and Sensibility: Edward/Elinor, Colonel Brandon/Marianne (Love the latter, though! Splendid pairing! Gives Lizzy and Darcy a run for their money! And besides which, Willoughby is a cad!) Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod/Katrina (Say yes to intellectual fellows, who have a most peculiar tendency to faint at the most inopportune of moments!) Tin Man: Cain/DG (Love, love, love!) Underworld/Underworld Evolution: Michael/Selene (I adore this pairing!) There are many others, but I’m too lazy to name them at the moment. Random Thoughts: Let’s see, I believe that condenses a few of my interests. There are many more, I can assure that, but it would be a rather tremendous list, so I will not go in depth with it. I’ll save everyone from the boredom! If you're still intrigued, there's information about me on my website. Trust me, the list is there! I confess that my writing may somewhat be the same as my boring nature—I tend to go a little too much in detail instead of constantly upsetting the reader with an emotional roller coaster of antics and drama. Really, I over-indulge the reader with detail—so much, I fear that it will give one a clear, vivid, mental image of what the story is trying to convey. I leave little to nothing to the imagination, as I find myself greatly disappointed by the lack of detail from contemporary writers. Perhaps that is my eccentric nature turning to those pre-twentieth century. Everything seems so void and two-dimensional nowadays. Yet I hope my own overly-detailed writings will, in a way, make up for that. Or, perhaps, I am simply trying to think outside of the prison instituted by literary sources—there is not enough thought placed into a paragraph and its overall meaning anymore. Interpretation, I fear, is dead. However, I am not Shakespeare, or one of those blasphemous daytime drama writers, more’s the pity. Yet, you can expect something semi-interesting, or at least I hope so! Also, I do not do fluff. It is fun to read, but I cannot write it for some odd reason. I think it the dark, brooding side of me, which rails heavily against such subject matter. That, and I cannot seem to write parodies/humorous stories. I fault my morbid sense of humour for the latter! Oh, and since I'm in college, my writing and updates will not be as constant. I fear the harsh obligation to schoolwork has cut heavily upon my time. But, being the crazed perfectionist that I am, I will finish what I start, unless I die first, of course… 0.o; And, that’s all I have to say…I think! | |||||||||
