Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Glee. THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD Hello! I'm not as active on here as I once was, as in, at all, but...I really do like coming on here and reading interesting things. My obsessions come and go -- some are reoccurring, others take the more "once-and-done" route -- and my activity tends to vary from site to site, because I have no self control and have accounts nearly everywhere. But I digress. If you'd like to contact me, you can certainly do so by PM, which I will get in my email and we can go from there. Heck, I might even put my email up there. I'm still undecided. I also have a tumblr under the name disperanza and an LJ which I don't use very much under the name abitofadork7. I now even have a snazzy IJ, as drachmas, and a very rarely-used Twitter, goldendrachmas. As for matters such as names, penname is fine, but I've also been known to respond to Marissa. Feel free to use either. :) GENERAL UPDATE ON LIFE Say Yes is pretty much never going to happen at this point, unless I somehow magically regain interest and rewrite the entire thing. I'm sorry to any fans that lurk among you, but I don't see myself finishing it. Existing chapters can still be read in my LJ comm, dorky_fics, if you'd like to reread for whatever reason. At the moment, I'm working on a few non-fic projects, one's a collaboration with some friends of mine, the other is just something that's been at the tip of my tongue for quite a while, now, and I'm happy to finally be working on it. Yay for semi-cooperating muse! I'm pretty much always open for one-shot request-thingies, or beta reading, though, so if you need one of those, don't be afraid to ask! SHE As you may have read above, my name's Marissa. I...am a writer. I know, right? Total shock. (I'm not funny, but please just indulge me.) Aside from the obvious, I'm a teenager, although that may be obvious as well. I love to read, and I love to eat. Especially chocolate. I suck at understanding math concepts at a quick pace and absolutely adore my friends. Some of them are even on here, as well, conveniently enough! (Some of them haven't updated in some time, but whatever's still up there is gold, so you should go read if you're ever in need of good writing.) I like movies; music is awesome, computers are my friends, my cell phone is pretty, I watch too much television for my own good, and my bed is comfy. Especially when I'm supposed to be getting up for school. I've been told that I have a sarcastic personality, and I'm rather inclined to agree with that assessment. Despite the apparent fact that "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit," it's just part of who I am, and I guess it reflects my view on the world, as well. If you manage to catch me at the right moment, I'm also very silly. Also occasionally amusing. I love to make people laugh, so maybe that's it. I embrace my inner nerdism and dorkiness and snarkiness, and just enjoy life, as much as I can. I'm not happy-go-lucky and probably never will be, but if I can manage to make peace with myself at some point, then I figure I've done something right somewhere along the line. LIKES Too many to name. We could literally be here for days. I like teenagerly activities. If you really feel compelled to know how I spend my free time besides reading fanfiction, you are more than welcome to ask. DISLIKES (Don't worry, there aren't too, too many of them.) Twilight, Names spelled wrong, canon mixed up, unhelpful flames, and Mary Sues. Twilight, ignorance, people who use the word 'ignorant' as an insult when they mean 'stupid', extremely poor grammar, ingratitude, over-the-top feminists, and generally rude people. I find it very disappoint, as well, when I find nothing new to eat in my refrigerator since the last time I checked ten minutes ago. Also, when fictional characters to whom I have grown entirely too attached just up and die on me. I hate that. It's so selfish, and then I'm a mess, and then people start looking at me oddly, and then I have to go and grieve and it's just ugh. A dreadful process. Moral of the story: My favorite characters should not die. The end. THEM AKA, my friends. They're just awesome people who write awesome things. Haven't had to chance to catch up to them in quite some time, due to my somehow busy life, but they're just incredibly friendly and I've learned a lot from all of them over several years. I'm referring specifically to those under my RECOMMENDATIONS section, if you'd like to take a peek. WRITING I like to write. And I try to make it something worth reading. I'd adore you if you checked them out, maybe left a review or a thought, or something. I put love and time into them. Most of the time, I don't even write down what it's in my head. Those are my little plot bunnies that sparked to life and jumped onto the word processor. I'd like to know if I'm doing a good job or if I'm absolute crap. (I really hope I'm not.) I'll take anything: critisism, praise, requests, whatever. I want to hear from you. It helps me grow as a writer, and it would be make me love you all forever and ever although I already do because you took the time to read them. :) But, even if I don't get much feedback, I just hope you enjoy my stories, at the least. Writing is a hobby. It's a stress reliever, to be honest, and it's just something I've grown to love. I want little more than to do the characters justice in a new adventure of sorts. RECOMMENDATIONS (under construction) As previously mentioned, I strongly suggest for you to go down to the bottom of the page, click "Favorite Authors" and check out any of these people. I promise you won't be disappointed because these are some talented folks. tierfal ~~ books4evah ~~ passthebutter ~~ jenwryn ~~ Marmalade Fever ~~ eltea ~~ IceQueenRex ~~ Chamyl~~ LadyBracknell ~~ CrazyboutRemmy ~~ Amethyst-Heart And do yourself a favor by checking out these rather fabulous websites: 1000 AWESOME THINGS;; AO3 (search for: abitofadork7);; TUMBLR (search for disperanza);; TV TROPES;; PINTEREST So, that's me.
