Author has written 25 stories for Prince of Tennis, and Pokemon.

Hello, everyone. I will now give away all of my personal information so stalkers can find out who I am and possibly kidnap me. My name is Karen Williams Hale, I'm eighteen, and I live in Beverly Hills, 90210.

None of that is actually true, but it was fun writing it. Now for the real intro:

Introduction:

Hi, and thanks for visiting! My pen name is Feyren, because it's the name of one of the characters in a novella of mine. That was a really common question. No, I'm not a fairy and my name is not Ren. It's just the name of one of my characters. I enjoy writing very much, and I wrote my first 'story' when I was six years old. I had just learned to write complete sentences, and I made my own little picture book about a figure skater. The pictures weren't so great, but I think it's sort of cute. Heh. I also like shopping (American Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie, Aeropostale), singing, acting, and watching CW11 shows (including Gossip Girl). I used to model professionally, but having experienced a taste of both worlds, I really do like the non-celebrity life better. :) I'm attending a specialized high school this fall.

My Writing Background in General:

My junior high school school was specialized, meaning one has to take a talent test and score higher than your competition to be accepted into the school. My talent - meaning the talent that I scored highest in - was creative writing. Thus I'm in creative writing talent. And my father is a writer, so I guess I inherit some things? He writes Chinese dramas, one of the most notable being The Story of a Noble Family. I've been published in Teen Ink once, but that's hardly a big achievement.

My Writing Achievements:

Well, not much. I was accepted into my magnet school for my writing abilities. I won a writing award in fourth and fifth grade regarding essay writing. In sixth grade, I entered a poetry contest and got to the semifinals. I would've made it farther had it not been for the fact that the contest rules required a 100 donation from the finalists. I'm referred to one of the top three in my class when it comes to creative writing. One of my novels have been selected to be submitted in a novel-writing contest, and I am currently awaiting the results. (It's taking a long time.) I've written two compete novels, and two novels in progress that I intend to continue. My focus right now is a young adult novel I'm not even close to finishing about a basketball player. Horrible idea, as I know nothing about sports.

Story Idea Copying/Stealing/Basing/Anything of That Sort:

It sucks. End of story. I can't emphasize this enough! Do you have any idea how many The RikkaiDai Sleepover knockoffs I've seen on this fandom? A lot. Like, a lot. And I know a lot of you think that it's okay, as long as you put your own spin on it, but the truth is, as long as it was based or influenced by another person's writing, you must give them credit. You must ask them for permission, and you must respect the fact that they wrote it first, and in a way, their plot is copyrighted.

And I know who's been using my ideas. I admit, it's been a while since I've been on the fandom but just a while ago I went on the website, looking for decent stories and I found a RDS wanna-be. And it's okay if you want to base a story on mine, but you must ask me first! And this doesn't just apply to my story; it applies to everyone's. As a fellow writer, I respectfully ask that you keep that in mind.

Stories in Progress:

School Days~ The RikkaiDai regulars are off to school, and we get to stalk them. The school day includes AM tennis practice, lunch, and PM tennis practice. There are eight regulars, but nine classes, so lunch will just be all of the regulars interacting together. This will surely end at chapter nine. (Don't worry, I haven't ditched this yet. I'll update it soon, if I find the time.)

Gardevoir of Eden~ My first Pokemon fanfic ever! It's really just about May and the Cambi Gala, during which she tries ridiculously hard to catch a Gardevoir and fails over and over again. As the competition proceeds, May and Drew finally begin to spend time together (though forced to do so). And you can't ever forget about our lovely Harley, now can you?

The Tennislutionary War~ Atobe, the King of Tennistopia, reigns mercilessly over the poor little Seigaku and RikkaiDai citizens. When they revolt, war breaks out in the form of a tennis tournament. Well, not so much a tennis tournament as a series of very ridiculous contests. Most of it actually will relate (somewhat) to the battles and outcomes of the Revolutionary War, except less to do with guns and bullets as with ice cream and tennis racquets.

The Gossip Game~ Kirihara is Star Magazine's top reporter and the best paparazzo there is. His little career is working out great for him until he gets his latest undercover assignment: to pretend to be tennis star Yukimura's Seiichi's boyfriend (gay boyfriend, nonetheless) to get the gossip. Just how long can Kirihara keep up the charade? This story will not have any yaoi/shounen-ai. Lots of moments, but nothing concrete in the end, sorry.

Romeo and Juliet~ Once upon a time, a boy and a girl fell in love. "It wasn't love, not at first," she admitted. "I don't really know when it turned into love, but now it is, and that's all that matters." Their schools are the ultimate rivals, their friends are the ultimate enemies, and according to the unspoken school rules, what they were doing was the ultimate sin. And that was how they knew what they were doing was right. KiriAnn. (Yes, I wrote this randomly, and depending on the responses I get, I'll decide whether or not to continue it.)

Russian Roulette~ Not a songfic. At twenty-one, Oshitari Yuushi finds himself working as a criminal investigator. Tokyo's a peaceful city, with few crimes--or so it seems. When one of his own is killed at a reunion, Oshitari realizes that people change, and not always for the better. With only his former friends and rivals as potential suspects, he finds it harder and harder to trust those around him--including Mukahi Gakuto, who seems to have brought along some changes of his own. "Feelings are a materialistic waste of time," Gakuto told him, and Oshitari wasn't sure why he felt disappointed. OshiGaku/Dirty Pair/whatever you want to call it.

Updates:

11/2/09

To Try has ended! And I'm sad because of it. Thank you all so much for following the story so far. Really, you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I'm touched, and I hope reading it has been as fun for you as writing it has been for me. On another note, I've started Romeo and Juliet. It was honestly a spur of the moment thing, but I'm going to add another chapter, just to see how it goes. It'll be updated by Friday, probably. I'm almost halfway through it now.

11/8/09

So I posted Russian Roulette, which, to those of you who asked, is a sort of Hyotei version of To Try. Except this takes place in the future, and people die. Including Niou. Which I'm very sorry about, because I love Niou just as much as the rest of you.

My Disclaimer (I always forget to put it in my stories for some reason): I do not own Prince of Tennis, Shakespeare's The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, or Pokemon. I do, however, own my plots and my original characters. I do not own any typos. A kitty hiding in my closet owns them.

Following this little autobiography are my stories. Help yourselves.

Enjoy.
