Plot:

Several prestigious families with long and rich histories send their children to Summer Rains Academy. They soon learn that old feuds die hard and with McNamara Corp playing them against each other, things are about to get intense.

Shayler – Symbol: Arcanine – A family descended from Alton Shayler, a fire trainer who became wealthy after selling his family land and building a ranch for breeding powerful fire type Pokémon and selling them to the highest prospect. The current Shaylers are known for being passionate about life and slightly hot-tempered. They are mostly loved, but have a fierce rivalry with the Tremaines which dates back seventy-five years.

Tremaine – Symbol: Sharpedo – A family descended from Daren Tremaine, a mercenary who roamed the seas and accumulated a massive amount of gold, eventually founding a port city. The current Tremaines are noted for their ruthless behavior and unlawful and immoral business operations. They are mistrusted and disliked for their supposed role in the death of Rodrick McNamara.

McNamara Corp – The most powerful company among the prestigious families and currently behind only a few of the most powerful companies in the world (Silph Co, Devon, etc.) and is run by Charles McNamara. It is known for rumors of unethical and unlawful business deals especially with the recent influx of Tremaine family members after the death of Charles's grandnephew, Rodrick McNamara. It is also rumored that Charles may have played a part in it.

Name: Marcus 'Marc' Shayler

Appearance: Marc heavily resembles his father. He is tall with an athletic and muscular build and the only physical trait that he shares with his mother's family is his dark gray eyes. He has the Shayler tanned skin and strong jaw along with the straight, jet black hair that goes down to his neck. He also has a bit of stubble and shaves semi-frequently.

Clothing: Marc's casual clothing is a red button down shirt with a black t-shirt underneath, black pants, a black belt, and expensive red and black sneakers. He also has a pair of dark shades that he wears as well. His formal wear is a black suit and pants with black dress shoes and a red tie. Marc's swimwear is a pair of dark orange swimming trunks.

Personality: Marc inherited the 'fiery' personality of his family. He's bold, determined, and has a general love for life. He is confident, loyal, charming, charismatic, and assured of himself and his abilities. While he can be reckless, he has matured quite a bit in the last couple of years, especially after the events of the previous year, and tends to think things through more often before resorting to his fists. Although he sometimes teases them, he is fiercely protective of his younger siblings and his uncle and messing with them is the quickest way to get on his bad side. Despite his good qualities, Marc can be extremely arrogant at times and has a nasty temper. He is stubborn as well and gets bored easily to the point where he can hardly stick to anything for too long a time be it girls, cars, or anything else. However, Marc does occasionally muse over the fact that no girl would want him because he has a child. He is willing to befriend anyone, but he can just as easily become an enemy. He is also under quite a bit of pressure due to being the 'heir' of the Shaylers.

Anya – Marc has a good relationship with his younger sister due to their similar personalities and the two often goof off and tease Edwin together when she isn't hanging out with Jay.

Edwin – Marc has a decent relationship with Edwin, but dislikes how stuffy he is. He also teases him a bit, but it's mostly harmless.

Jay – Marc and Jay get along quite well despite their opposite personalities. He treats him like a younger brother.

Pokémon:

Arcanine – Male – Marc's first Pokémon and a gift from his father. Arcanine is a loyal and brave companion, but has too much of a battle lust at times.

Machamp – Male – While he is not the brightest, he is definitely the most protective and acts as a bodyguard for his trainer.

Cloyster – Female – A bit of a recluse, Cloyster loves her trainer, but often keeps to herself.

Other: Is heir to the Shayler fortune and was best friends with his rival Rodrick McNamara before the latter's death. Is repeating his final year at Summer Rains due to the events of the previous year. Plays several sports and battles frequently. He has quite a bit of a spending problem as well. Has an illegitimate daughter named Marcella and visits her when he can. His battling style is mostly based on power.

Appearance: Anya heavily resembles her mother and has some similarities with her uncle, Jay. She is average height with a slim build and has her father's amber eyes and tanned skin. She has her mother's thin and angular face along with a thin nose and she has long and straight dirty blond hair that she sometimes dyes black.

Clothing: Anya's casual clothing includes a white tanktop with black skull designs on it, black jogging pants that have white stripes on the side and a pair of white and black tennis shoes. She doesn't wear makeup often, but has several bracelets on her arms and also has a pair of shades that she keeps above her head. She also has several facial and body piercings and its rumored that she has a tattoo. Her formal wear is a dark red strapless dress with matching flats and she keeps her hair in a ponytail. Her swimwear is a black bikini with orange claws on the top and bottoms.

Personality: Anya is a determined, expressive, and driven girl and is very much like her older brother, having inherited the 'fiery' personality of the Shaylers as well and a zest for life. She is almost always bursting with excitement and is a bit of a goofball. She doesn't care much for her family's wealth and likes to have fun without using money. This is reflective in the way she dresses casually. She is comical and light-hearted, always cracking a joke. Like Marc, she can be extremely rash and has a bad temper to those who get on her bad side, but she is even worse than he is since he matured. She is also fiercely protective of her brothers and uncle and tends to be wary of any girls interested in them. Her voice is a bit low and husky and she's a bit insecure about it having being nicknamed 'Madam Man-Voice' or some variant.

Other: Loves video games, but she has a pretty short attention span anyway and she loves music of any kind. Is the only daughter of the Shaylers and is best friends with her uncle, Jay Aderyn. Her battling style is mostly based on speed.

Appearance: Unlike his siblings, Edwin shares a lot of his physical traits with both parents. He has his mother's dark gray eyes, angular face and thin build. He has his father's jet black hair and tanned skin. Edwin is average height as well and keeps his hair neatly kept.

Clothing: Edwin's casual clothing consists of a dark yellow checkered sweater vest with a white dress shirt underneath along with khaki pants, a brown belt, and brown oxford shoes along with a gold watch. His formal wear is a dark brown suit with a cream colored dress shirt underneath and a dark brown tie along with dark brown dress shoes. His swimwear are red and yellow swimming trunks.

Personality: Edwin isn't very much like his older siblings as it appears he inherited his personality from his mother's side. He is highly intelligent for his age and enjoys his family's wealth quite a bit and is quite proper if a bit stuffy. He is slightly cynical and extremely sarcastic towards everything. He thinks of himself as the 'brains' to his siblings' 'brawn' and can be condescending towards anyone that he deems stupid. As a result, he has little patience and tolerance for someone who isn't on his intellectual level. He is also a bit insecure as he believes everyone loves his siblings and his uncle more and as a result, he tends to be a bit gloomy. As cold as he seems, Edwin is quite a gentle person though people have to reach out to him first before he reciprocates be it friendship or romance.

Marc – Edwin looks up to Marc, but is annoyed by his teasing. He also feels like he is perpetually stuck in his shadow.

Anya – Edwin has a decent relationship with his sister despite her teasing, but is easily annoyed by her behavior.

Jay – Edwin gets along with Jay better than his siblings since they have similar personalities and he doesn't tease him. The two have a strong bond.

Pokémon:

Magmar – Male – Edwin's first Pokémon that he is holding off on evolving for a bit. Magmar is a reserved Pokémon, but gets angered if pushed too far.

Noctowl – Female – A cheerful Pokémon who likes to observe what's going on around her.

Magnezone – Genderless – An awkward Pokémon who is trying its best to understand things without much luck.

Other: Plays several classical instruments and talks extremely proper. He is also very close to his mother. His battling style is mostly based on defense, though he doesn't really battle as often as his siblings.

Appearance: Jay is slightly above average height and is skinny though he is starting to develop more of a lean and athletic build. He has shaggy sandy blonde hair and fair skin (though its often tanned due to him spending a lot of time at the beach) along with his family's dark gray eyes (though they have a bluish tint to them, perhaps a trait he inherited from his mother) thin, angular face, and thin nose. He has slightly long eyelashes and it's something that people occasionally make fun of.

Clothing: Jay's casual clothing consists of a short-sleeved navy blue shirt along with blue jeans and a pair of plain black sneakers and fingerless black gloves. He occasionally throws a black coat over his shirt if it's cold. His formal wear is a dark gray suit with a gray dress shirt underneath and black dress shoes. He swims in black and white swimming trunks.

Personality: Jay is a reserved and level-headed young man, a staple of the Aderyn family. He is quite content with everything life has thrown at him and has a relaxed personality, though he is a bit more serious than Marc and Anya. He is easy to make friends with since he is willing to engage with anyone. He can be a bit sarcastic and apathetic to trivial matters, but he always tries to think things through before acting. He's not really stoic since he's a bit more outgoing than that, but he has moments of silence when he's thinking deeply as he tends to get lost in his thoughts often. Though he's not shy, he never really has much to say, so he's not the easiest person to start a conversation with, but he'll give decent advice if asked. He also has a sense of pragmatism, but will only pull tricks when necessary and can be a bit inactive unless someone like Anya can give him some motivation. Though he is the last surviving Aderyn member from the male line, he tries not to think about it much.

Marc – Jay looks up to Marc and the two spent quite a lot of time together growing up. Their relationship is more of an older brother/younger brother than nephew/uncle.

Anya – Jay is the same age as Anya and as a result, the two became best friends as they grew up despite their opposite personalities. They are hardly ever seen apart.

Edwin – Jay has a good relationship with Edwin and doesn't tease him like Marc and Anya. He usually gives him advice if he asks for it.

Pokémon:

Golduck – Male – An easygoing and lax Pokémon who always has a smile on his face and is willing to interact with anyone human and Pokémon.

Dodrio – Female – The daughter of a male Fearow and a female Dodrio. As per usual, the three heads are always arguing, but they all love their trainer equally.

Hitmonlee – Male – Caught alongside Anya's Hitmontop as a Tyrogue. He is stoic and often has little to say. He usually just sits back while everyone else has fun.

Other: Is the last surviving member of the Aderyn family through the male line. Was raised by his sister and her husband since the age of two as his father was already aging when he was born. Jay was the first one to find Rodrick McNamara after his death and is still slightly haunted by it. He likes cycling and surfing and is best friends with his niece, Anya. Jay's battling style shifts often depending on who he's up against.

Name: Michael 'Mike' Snowe

Age: 12 (at the beginning)

Gender: Male

Level: First Year

Initial Appearance: At the start of the story, Mike is only twelve and has yet to finish growing. He is a short and scrawny boy with olive skin and playful hazel eyes. He has a mop of light brown hair on his head and has a thin face with slightly bushy eyebrows. He has white teeth that can often be seen due to him always grinning.

Ending Appearance: Towards the end of the story, Mike has gotten much taller and developed a bit of a lean and athletic build. His hair has gotten a bit darker and he's gotten it cut a bit shorter and his eyebrows are less bushy. He retains his signature grin.

Clothing:

Everyday – At the start of the story, Mike wears a dark blue t-shirt with a logo of a gray piece symbol in the middle of it. He pairs this with khaki cargo shorts and a pair of dark blue sneakers. During winter, he throws a gray hoodie over his shirt and wears cargo pants.

Formal/Swimwear/Sleepwear – For formal occasions, Mike dresses in a navy blue dress coat with a white dress shirt underneath, navy blue pants and black dress shoes. He swims in a pair of green swimming trunks, and sleeps in a white t-shirt and red basketball shorts.

Later outfit – As a near adult (age: 17-18), Mike wears a light blue t-shirt under a royal blue and black checkered shirt with dark jeans and a pair of black shoes.

Core Personality: At his core, Mike is a humorous and entertaining kid. As the class clown, he is a perfect fit for the mascot and though he isn't to thrilled about it at first, he later accepts his position on the team...mainly because it gives him a chance to hang out with the second year cheerleaders, but also because it gives him a chance of entertaining the crowd. He is friendly, cheeky, witty, confident, and non-judgmental, but has a big mouth that quite often gets him into trouble. Because of aforementioned big mouth, Mike can come off as a bit of a smart-aleck with his wisecracks and at times bites off more than he can chew especially when it comes to those who are stronger than he is. The older kids tend to view him as either adorable or annoying, or both. He tends to flirt with a the older girls a lot, but they usually see it as him just joking around. He's relaxed sometimes to the point of being a lazy slacker and he tries to solve all his problems with humor making him come off as uncaring. As he gets older, he starts to realize that there are some things you can't just laugh off and begins to take a more mature look on life.

Watortle – Male – Mike's starter Pokémon that he received when he first became a trainer. Watortle is more serious than his trainer and loves to battle which is why he's a bit upset about Mike as the mascot. Still, he sticks with his trainer no matter what.

Crobat – Female – The only female and fully evolved member of Mike's team, Crobat likes to keep to herself and is a bit shy. However, she is very close to her trainer and is protective of him.

Elekid – Male – Mike's most recent addition to the team and the Pokémon you're likely to see following him around the most. Elekid is even goofier than his trainer, but matures throughout the years.

Other: Mike and his friends share an expensive electric scooter that they bought with all of their money put together.
