"The trick to making anything that matters is to not treat the source material as if you can indulge your own political dialectic by picking and choosing, because the world is more complicated than that."
- David Simon
About me: Being a product of the '90's and early 2000's Generation X subculture, you can pretty much guess the type of person I am.
I grew up with grunge, hard rock, folk rock, and trip-hop, and they've to this day remained my favorite in terms of being most the most socially aware music as well as just plain sounding good. If you're a fan of Massive Attack, UNKLE, Radiohead, the Foo Fighters, RHCP, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, etc., anything really spanning the last two decades in terms of real music and you've got a friend in me.
I am an avid reader, and once again, the best books seem to delve into the transgressive genre (American Psycho, A Clockwork Orange [without the last chapter, of course]). I also enjoy dystopian novels, as well as philosophy.
That's really all there is to me.
EDIT 6/3/12: Unfortunately, with the end of DotU combined with my disinterest in WF and a bunch of work-related incidents, I'm putting Weird Fishes, possibly for good, under the abandoned section. It was a good try, but I ultimately think it couldn't have carried on far enough.
TKOL Chapters To Go:
"The Master and The Marxist"
4.23: Broomspotting is proving to be a major pain in the ass to write. I'm about 5k in and stuck, even though I know exactly where I want the chapter to go. It's just a matter of getting the writing down perfect. Expect a few more MB updates before TKoL.
