My name is Naomi, and I live in Holland. I've got one older sister, who is three years older than me, and I love her dearly. We have very good bond, even though we don't see each other very often.

I love reading, writing, drawing, listening to music etc. I'm a very plain girl, who loves to read romantic stories, and watch romantic movies.I am not a girly-girl, though I do like to dress nicely and I wear a little bit of make up; not too much.

I've got my Masters degree in English, which I am very proud of since the majority of the people who took that examination failed. And to think of the fact that I'm going to college in September...

The Twilight-series are one of the best books ever written, though I didn't want to read it at first because it was about vampires, and I am NOT a horror-person. Okay, that's an understatement, but that's not my point. One of my best friends kept pushing me to read it. " You'll like it, trust me" She said, and when I found it at the library (in Dutch) I decided to take it with me. I was addicted immediately, and now ( after more than a year ) I got my friends addicted as well.

It's funny to see them read about the exact same thing right now, only a year later. I'm like; old news! Been there, done that. When my friend was reading Breaking Dawn during Geography, she made faces that made me laugh so hard because I knew I had done the exact same thing when I was reading it. I could see where she was by just looking at her, and at the end of their honeymoon (the discover) my friend dug her fingers in my arm. I was bruised for weeks! Lol but it was worth it, I guess. I laughed my ass off, just watching her! It's nice to know how captivating the series are.

I do have to say I cooled down a bit after it became super famous and all. I started reading it when it was still relatively small, and now it's all big... and I kind of lost my interest. I still like it, but I can also see the ... faults, so to speak. There are some things in there that just don't make sense. To me, at least. It could also be that I've grown up and look at it differently now.

My thoughts on a few stories (you can find them all among my favourites):

Welcome To Drama Academy by twilightluver001: This was the first fanfic I read, and it was thanks to this story I became addicted to fanfiction. I soon found out that the plot is far from original, but I still think this is the best version of this over-used plot. It's all about a girl who likes a boy she can't have, and he happens to be captain of the basketball team and a player and all that. Like I said; there are many stories like that out here; but why this stands out: well, the way it's written... it's addictive, truly. I was very happy I was reading it, and "The Reason" by Hoobastank will never be the same anymore thanks to this. It'll always remind me of the sweet scene about halfway of the story.

I Love To Hate You by An End Has A Start: An End Has A Start only has amazing stories; her story In Six Months I Lost My Mind But Found My Heart was the second fanfic I read, and I became addicted to her writing style immediately. I am following all of her stories - not only because she became a good friend of mine - just because they are so addictive. She has many stories I like; but I only want to talk about one per writer; so I chose this one.
I Love To Hate You is definitely the biggest part of the plot. Bella likes Edward; and hates him at the same time. Edward wants to win her heart. That is all I can say, you have to read the story to understand it. I loved to read it- especially because as a reader you know everything; but Bella's got no clue at all. Bella and Edward truly hate each other in the beginning, but you can see little things that show you things aren't that bad at all. I loved the way Bella acts - she's too stubborn for words and I like that. It shows she has some character. All in all a great story to read, and you really should check her stories out.

Meyer University by Sh.C: I have read many stories, and trust me when I say many... I really mean a lot. In my faves, you can only find my true favourites, the ones that stand out for me. And that is like 10 percent of what I've read, and a lot of them are files on my laptop because I didn't have internet before and I really wanted to read them.
Anyways; none of those stories was as addictive as this one. This was like my third story, but I never found anything better than this. It's long, I'll admit that (far over 120k) and 62 chapters, but... it's captivating. I was reading, and back then I only had 90 minutes to read. Trust me when I say I spent 89 of them reading, and the other one to check my email. Sh.C built up the story in such a nice way; you get information in almost every chapter, but she keeps holding things back until the last chapter. There are so many details in there; and each and every one of them is important. I am a very intuitive reader; I see things and understand things beyond what's written; clues for the rest of the plot and stuff like that. But I didn't expect some of these, it was so amazing! And some chapters made me laugh out loud - especially the chapter "Gotcha!" (chapter 44) and one made me cry, and then I mean truly cry - Chapter 33: "Rememberance"- and since then it doesn't happen a lot. Laughing; yes. Crying; no!
I am not going to say anything about the plot; it's too great for that and I am afraid I am going to spoil it for other people when I say something about it. All I want to say is that as a reader, you want to figure it all out just as much as Bella; and the clues and riddles and the solutions... IT'S GREAT! I had a hard time figuring it all out, and I can't even imagine how many time she put in this story; she had to plan a lot I think because there are details in there from the beginning that aren't coming back until near the end.
Let's just say this story is my all time favourite and I haven't found anything better yet.

If Every Word I Said Could Make You Laugh by carmelinagunn: Also known as IEWIS! Long, but great. Funny and sad. Meyer University is my all time favourite; but this is a third place. Thanks to my friend (VampireGirl15) who made me read this, it was truly addictive; and the way it's built up is great as well. Especially the fact that it takes so long for everyone to be happy; I like that. People have to deal with certain things and the way they deal with it is very realistic. It is one of the most realistic stories I've ever read - among fanfiction of course - and that says a lot. The author's notes are great; they made me laugh. Especially when she started to talk about IEWIS-land. And of course, I am a member of its citizens. It's impossible not to be after you've read it!

When Darkness Turns To Light by Janna Banana: Ah. Yes. Let me start with the fact that I am ABSOLUTELY a hard-core Edward x Bella fan. I read nothing else but that - or at least I did before this. I didn't want to read it; I refused it and clicked it away as soon as I found out it was Bella x Jasper. I don't believe in anything else but ExB, there is no other perfect combination. JxA are meant to be, and so are ExB.
Or so I thought. This story is definitely different. I thought Bella x Jasper could never work, but in this story it can. It does. And it's perfect. The way their relationship starts - as pure friendship; two lonely people who know each other and hang out to be not lonely anymore - and the way it improves; becomes something more. It's different than any other story; and it is definitely among my all time favourites. This would be a second place; between Meyer University and IEWIS. I was lost for words when I finished it; and if there's going to be a sequel I am definitely going to read it. There are lots of possibilities with the story - only Alice knows of them being together - and I would like to know how the rest of the family reacts on that fact.

Boycotts and Barflies by vjgm: I read a lot of stories from vjgm - Parenting Skills 101; We're Going Where?!; Family Therapy Cullen Style- and I can hardly choose the best one because they are all awesome. So I picked the first one I read.
It was the first time I read something sexual - or even with hints in it. I remember blushing at a few scenes- seriously! I remember feeling ashamed that I liked it so much; but it was very addictive and I read it all as fast as I could just to be able to finish it. I did that in 3 days - 3 x 90 minutes. Pretty fast for a story like this if you ask me.
Anyways; this story has; like all the others; a very nice plot. It's funny, not too long - just perfect - and it shows the great characters of Twilight. Despite what you might think; I think the characters are quite IC. Edward's a gentleman; Emmett's... well he is like himself, Jasper is sweet, quiet and funny. Alice is a shopping-addict; Rosalie is the hot chick and Bella is... Bella. The best thing is that she surprises you with the ending. I really expected something entirely different; and the best thing is that she gave clues about who the winner is but you don't see it until the end. Awesome.

The Puppet Master by Glitch in the System: Hm... Long, definitely. You must have a lot of concentration to read this; so far it has over 70 chapters. But trust me when I say it's all worth it!
Basically it follows Twilight, New Moon and so far Eclipse, but it's not like you expected at all. It's about Cammy who somehow gets transported into the life of our favourite series; just when it's about to begin! It's awesome, and I don't want to say too much about the plot because it way too freaking awesome for that; just like all the other stories I put up in here. Besides, you really have to read it to understand it all, I can't really explain it. Let's say it like nothing out here; it is definitely an original plot while it sticks to the books. There aren't many stories out here who can do that. And I loved it!

You Might Die Trying by HayleyM425: Okay it's slightly unfair for me to put this story in here; because this is the story I beta for. But when I started reading it, I wasn't yet so I think I have the right to say something about it anyway.
When I first started reading it; I was immediately addicted to her way of writing. Except for the fact that her sentences were too long and sometimes I got confused because the sentence wasn't right; but she really improved. And so has her story. It is still in the early stages; but it's starting to get somewhere. I might warn you; her chapters are insanely long, but to me that didn't matter at all. You read through it like it's nothing, and that's because of the way it's written. Every chapter contains some new information (at least; so far) and it is still interesting because there is so much you don't know yet. It is definitely a story I'd like to recommend to you because it is really captivating. It is quite unlike the other stories out here (like most of the things I put up here) and it has an unique plot (as far as I know) so it is definitely worth the few hours you'll need to spend reading it.

Things that irritate me

Being Dutch says a lot about my English. Dutch people are perfectionists (and so am I) and when we start getting English classes (when we're about 12) we learn one thing from the beginning: grammar has to be perfect. At least, that is what my teacher taught us for the past few years.
I followed English Master classes, so my English is a bit better than the avarage students at my school (my avarage is the highest in my class) and I know a bit more about different kinds of grammar regular students don't get because it's not important. Grammar has to be perfect; use the right form of a verb, know what adverbs and adjectives are (and the very important differences between them!) and of course the way you build up a sentence. Pretty much everything you need to know about the grammar of a language.
A few things that are very common out here on fanfiction;

then/than: Okay, I get where the confusion comes from; they are so much alike. I've been taught a very simple trick; and I use it each and every time when I use either then or than:
Than is when you compare something to something else: I am taller than you. Then is for all the other things.
So far, that has been correct. And to my knowledge, it'll always be correct.

there/they're/their: There; to point at something, they're is a contraction of they are, their is possesive. Not that hard, right? Right?!

also at the end of a sentence: This is one of my biggest irritations. One of my classmates does this all the time; and everytime I need to suppress the urge to wince at it. Also should not be put at the end of a sentence!! It's mainly used to say that something else/something similar is going on/has happend/is going to happen. You could also use the words 'too' or 'as well'. I don't like it when people put also at the beginning, but it is still correct according to the grammar I've learned.

And there are many more! But if I have to write them all down... no way, that is just too much. These are my biggest irritatiions, and I know it's easy to be confused; but if you think about what you are writing and what you are trying to say; you'll catch your own mistakes a lot easier. I learned that myself as well, and it truly helps. Besides, if you check your own English - just on spelling and the basic grammar; you'll get better and better without really doing anything extra. The only reason why I ask people to check my chapters is because I know English is not my first language; and I don't catch all my mistakes. I think I made the then/than mistake once; but I caught it myself and changed it immediately. I always let someone check it; but it gets easier for me to find them all so lately I haven't asked much of the people who usually check them.
I chose to be a beta myself to help others getting better, just like I did for myself. And it's easier to see the mistakes other people make; you can't always find your own because you skip some parts because you already know what you've written, and that's usually exactly where the little mistakes can be found.
