| CharNobyl |
Author has written 6 stories for Claymore, Fallout, and Dead Space. Name: You'll know me as Char-Nobyl, which is both a derivation of "Chernobyl," and completely ripped from the nuclear-powered grill in Aqua Teen Hunger Force. If I have any reason for you to know my actual name, I'll tell you. Age: 18 Location: Central New Jersey. Y'know, the place with all the bodies buried in construction sites. Moving soon for eastern PA, where I'll be moving from the set of The Sopranos over to a region where I'll have to fend off attacks by the local mountain people. Prolonged exposure to Pennsylvania may result in flannel shirts and lumberjacking. Writing style: I can churn out writing of pretty good quality in fairly short periods of time, but usually only when I feel particularly inspired, and that happens at seemingly random intervals. By the time that point arrives, I sit down at my desk and type while listening to The Offspring or some techno remix that I ripped from Youtube. My grammar is usually flawless, having lived in a house with an English teacher for the first sixteen years of my life. And, in retrospect, my writing can get fairly graphic, and not the fun kind of graphic, either. More the, "Man rips intestines from victim's stomach on the battlefield" kind of graphic. Oddly enough, I actually did that in one of my stories. Credit to...: Well, besides my parents, who apparently gave me the ability to write by some kind of hereditary hoo-hah (my sister's a journalist), there's the authors, writers, and other such employed professionals who this site rips off for lack of true creativity. Others of note include Kinematics, a resident of this site who grabbed me by the hair and beat some sense into me when I was pulling Dawn of the End Times out of my ass. He's since gone mysteriously missing. It might to help to actually try and contact him, come to think of it. He's got more knowledge of Claymore than Wikipedia, and every iota of it was useful for me. There's also Lithius Amarnatinos, someone who inexplicably took a liking to my followup story (Rising Tides) that I made as a complete overhaul of the first. And he's...also gone mysteriously missing. Christ, I'm wondering if I've somehow written both my betareaders out of existence or something. General personality: I'm a nice guy, fairly outgoing and socially adept. I have an inexplicable ability to make people like me, which I've used to get past lines at the DMV (an invaluable skill for anyone whose been there) among other things. I like sports, writing, video games, reading, and doing things with other people. Random facts: I've hurt peoples' hands with a combination of my jawline and its perpetual stubble. It's like concrete with barbed wire. I balance writing, friends, school, girlfriend, and sports, not to mention random activities that don't involve other people. It's been working fine for years. I'm guessing that I'm extraordinarily lucky most of the time, with the occasional catastrophe which doesn't affect me specifically. Go figure. Current stories Alright, figure I might as well put on something sorta pertaining to a story-update thing. My normally Thesaurus-like mind is failing me, so here's the...thing. Stories in no particular order. Updates to this list are marginally likely, as of 12/4. Fallout: Cyrodiil: At this point, probably my best bet for turning out a decent story that I've also sunk the most time into. Starting chapter seven. Repentent: Part of my ongoing series of 'Claymore stories I wrote on a whim.' This one got the furthest. Not sure when an update will come, but chapter five's mostly done as it is. Perhaps I'll stop being lazy and finish it or something. Dawn of the...you know what, forget this story ever happened. I ought to delete it, but it was the first story I posted. The Rising Tides: Ah, better. My biggest Claymore story, and with two crossovers embedded in it that effectively disabled it from being accessible to more than a small crowd, and with and ending that jumped the shark so well it could have survived a Jaws movie. Oh well. I had fun with it, and it's over and done with. Semper Fi: My newest story, and a Dead Space one at that. This and Fallout are probably going to be my primary areas of focus for the time being. Again, new chapter just begun. Isolation: Oh, man. This story...it's like the paragon of awesome ideas that does an amazing job of shooting itself in the foot. I've got chapter two pretty much done, but even if I keep the story rolling, odds are you'd have no idea what was going on/who my couple OC's were since it's the sequel to Rising Tides. Easily my biggest disappointment in the bunch. Check it out if you liked Rising Tides. | |||||||||||
