Author has written 1 story for Yu-Gi-Oh.

UPDATED: 26 October 2009

Updates:
- Current stories

Current stories:

- Flight from Death: (YGO) On hiatus. Yeah. I'm thinking of discontinuing it due to lack of interest, but I like the idea enough I can't quite bring myself to give the final word.
- Untitled WIP: (YGX) I was challenged to write this by Blueglaceon. Right now, all I can say with certainty about this one is that it will be EdoxAsuka. Possible YGO crossover.
- Ashes: (YGX) Back on the map. This story has gone through so many plot revisions it's making me dizzy. I don't know what will become of it, but I really, really, really want to post it someday, so I'm going to try to remove all the references from the EdoxAsuka story.

Recommendation of the update: Meet Me at the End of the World by Cages for Bluebirds
Rated T - General - Chapters: 8 -
Words: 24,089
AU, eventual pairing. Shinji is the 17th angel. Under command of SEELE, he is to avoid direct contact with the Third Child, Kaworu and fulfill his mission. However, nothing is ever so simple, and Shinji soon finds himself faced with a much larger dilemma.

-- An Evangelion Shinji/Kaworu must-read. This author is superb, and I cannot recommend her stories enough. This is one I recommend because of its attention to detail and character. The challenge of switching the roles of two characters and yet keeping the characters IN-character is no easy task, but the author has pulled it off almost flawlessly. Yes, it's a romance, despite the "general" classification--the opening notes explain this. No graphic yaoi (see T rating) and a beautiful, distinctive style make this a story that I could go on about for days...but why waste my time when you could be reading?

About me, AKA random babble:

Name: Chausten, C, or hey, you
Age: Not too young to write a fanfic, not too old to enjoy one
Location: Somewhere in the REAL United States of America!
Interests: Writing, reading, languages, music of all kinds, quotes, other random things that escape me...
Contact: Feel free to PM me; I'm not scary. I love getting mail. It's a good homework distraction!

"Chausten" is a mix of Chopin and Jane Austen (but I pronounce it with a hard "ch"). When I write it out like that, I think it sounds kind of pretentious ("I made up my name with these two great artists; wanna hear?"), but seriously, I was just messing around trying to figure out a relatively anonymous pen name and thought it sounded cool. Maybe I just sound like a geek now and should have kept my mouth shut.

My forays into fanfiction have been erratic, to say the least. I jump from place to place, all different universes, as you can possibly tell from the above. My favorite, in all honesty, is the X-Files universe (which is almost nonexistent here on FF.N). They are extremely well developed and, because of the target audience of the show, also attract some of the older writers (therefore the quality of the work is generally higher than many other fandoms I've found).

I'm always looking for story recommendations, since this site is obviously so big. Any of the fandoms below would be great.

Fanfiction

Pairings: I've realized that I really don't care what gender the characters are, as long as the story is well-written. I prefer to read stories where I think the two characters have good chemistry already, but you could tempt me into an eccentric pairing with the promise of a really excellent story, I suppose. So slash away, anime fans!

Harry Potter: no real preferences. Ones I have read and enjoyed:
Draco/Hermione
Harry/Hermione - Don't kill me, people! I don't think it's so totally out of the realm of possibility, either. I know they're completely brother/sister in the books, but it's not hard for me to imagine their relationship growing into something more. I think it's the idea of the main-guy/main-girl pairing that puts people off so much.
Tom Riddle, Jr. - I read fics with Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and OCs. TR/HG and TR/HP tended to be the best.

Ones I did NOT enjoy:
Ron/Hermione - I blame JKR for this. She has obviously forgotten what it was like to be in a teenage relationship.
Harry/Ginny - See above.

Yu-Gi-Oh!:
Atemu/Anzu (Revolutionshipping)
Kaiba/Anzu (Azureshipping)

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: No real preferences here, either. Pairings I've read and liked:
Ryou/Asuka (Royalshipping)
Edo/Ryou
Juudai/Johan
Edo/Juudai
Edo/Asuka

Ones I did NOT like:
Juudai/Asuka - It's like too much frosting on a cake. It's so sweet it makes me choke. But, scarily enough, I have written fics that have Fiancéshipping in them.

Neon Genesis Evangelion:
Shinji/Kaworu
...and Rei kicks ass, but I don't know if I could see her in a relationship with anyone right now.

Dislike:
Shinji/Asuka - I just don't like her. She's a pain in the neck. I like English dub!Asuka better than Japanese!Asuka, which is extremely rare, so treasure it, Tiffany Grant.

And in case I ever pick up these stories again (because at some point I probably will):

Phantom of the Opera
Erik/Christine

Pirates of the Caribbean:
Heh, I just like Norrington. Please give him someone nice.

Pride and Prejudice:
Does anyone have to ask about pairings here?
I do like Georgiana/Colonel Fitzwilliam in continuations

Jane Eyre:
See above. St. John really fascinates me, though. Get him someone nice, too.

The X-Files:
You probably don't have to ask what pairing I ship for.

Aaaaand now for the best part!

"Some things just always seem to be sexy in movies, and I think a woman cleaning a wounded man, oh, as long as he's somewhat healthy and looking into her eyes, always seems to sort of ring with sexual tension, especially if he's young and handsome and has ripped abs." --Dean Georgaris, writer's commentary (Tristan + Isolde)

"Si haut que l'on soit assis, on n'est jamais assis que sur son cul." --Michel de Montaigne

YGOHP. He needed a weapon--something he didn't have the last time. After all, who could stop the man who controls the three Egyptian gods? Only one person. And he's dead. AxA, YxA.
