'Ello there...what do people put in these things, anyways? I never know what to say about myself...oh well.
As of April 2008, when I started this account, I am a 23-year-old sometimes-writer, occasional-artist, and part-time-archaeologist and know-it-all. Though obviously the writing will be focused on here (with the right to throw in archaeological and historical bits in here and there ;) ).
Okay, I see people usually listing their faves and stuff, so...here goes.
Music: just about a little bit of everything. Mostly rock, rap, older pop, jazz, blues, reggae (Bob Marley, yo!), some latin, and tons of indie folk stuff. Bands and artists include: Lowen & Navarro, Kelly Clarkson, Joyce Andersen and Harvey Reid, Christina Aguilera, Sarah McLachlan, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Crosby Stills and Nash (and occasionally Young), the Doors, Bob Marley, Jewel, Aaliyah, Dr. John, DMX, Metallica, Marilyn Manson, Nightwish, Evanescence, Within Temptation, Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Madonna (yeah yeah yeah), B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Robert Johnson (the god of blues), Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone, Camille (excellent french artist), Linkin Park, Paolo Conte, Michelle Branch, and I'm sure I'm leaving some out, but oh well.
Writers/Inspirations: The first one would have to go to Saul Williams, and his spoken-word poetry. Others include, but are not limited to (in no order): H.G. Wells, Robert Louis Stevenson, K.A. Applegate, Kyra Davis, Walter Mosely (omg), Dorothy Parker (heh...one word: Resume), Tolkein, and several others.
Movies: I don't do a lot of movies...meh. The Pirates movies, Out Cold (hillarious), I Am Legend (even though I can't watch half of it 'cause I hate crying during movies and it makes me sob uncontrollably), umm...honestly can't remember many more, meh. Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, heehee...Casino Royale, 'cause the new bond guy's kinda smexy.
Books: Animorphs, Devil in a Blue Dress, S/He, Sex Murder and a Double Latte, The Time Machine (big inspiration for me!), Treasure Island, umm...yeah. Lots of other stuff. I'm almost always reading at least two books at a time, heh.
TV: Again, not a lot watched. Cash Cab, Most Haunted, the Rachel Ray Show, Ghost Hunters, House MD, Bones (forensics, a subdivision of anthropology/archaeology, mwahaha), Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons (heehee).
Anyways... This'll probably be mostly for my Animorphs fic, though I might break down and write my historically-based one, and my anti-futuristic one SOME DAY, not sure when. And maybe if I get bored you'll get some poetry...but for now that lives on my writing.com account, so nyeh. Same name if you like poetry and wanna critique mine...I'm not promising it's any good.
