Author has written 26 stories for Lord of the Rings, Matrix, and Four Brothers. A young woman clad in black silk dances out of the darkness, swaying to the haunting tones of a Celtic flute as her netting draped arms beckon you forth. Her limbs seem to constantly move, like the gentle, mesmerizing ripples of a brook as the delicate layers of sleek skirts swirl out about her bear feet, a single anklet reflecting the light. Black lines her eyes and highlights pupils of dark, mysterious blue, acting as the focus of attention upon the pale face. Red-brown hair cascades down her back, over her shoulders and onto the exotic fabric, covered with a soft veil of moonlight silver. A thick collar is locked tightly around her neck, fashioned of twisted silver cords looping around a solid, flat base of metal, the two tones glimmering in the candlelight as if they were an image from a ghostly dream. She seems alive and yet trapped within the world of the haunting dead; constantly swaying to the music in a way akin to a snake being charmed out of its basket. Silver cuffs adorn her wrists, small chains and charms tinkling against one and other as she moves, bring her arms to cross just below her face as her talon like black nails catch the light, illuminating the red flicks sparkling at the tips. Red painted lips move, as if chanting something secret under her breath before her eyes fully lock onto yours, freezing you within the strange moment just as she freezes to the tantalizing pull of the flute. “Let me entice you into a world of darkness...” she whispers, her right hand extending out, offering you all the seductive temptation that the world has to offer; all yours for the taking. “Come to a place where darkness never sleeps, where the night rules with an iron fist and where all things deemed ‘good’ are crushed underfoot.” Teeth sinking almost thoughtfully into her lower lip, the woman smiles as small droplets of blood start to form. She watches you, watches your interest grow as her tongue flicks out over her glimmering lower lip, tasting the blood and savoring it like it were the sweetest of honey. Right hand still outstretched, a curved eyebrow rising ever so slightly – the only other movement on the otherwise stone-still face – she takes a step forward, rotating her shoulders to the music and causing the layers of netting to shimmer in the candlelight. “Let me lead you into temptation; into power and into dominance...” ***** Name: Minka Age: old enough Likes: Books/writers: The Gormenghast Trilogy by Mervyn Peake, anything by Anne Rice, Marrion Zimmer Bradely, Raymond E. Feist and John Marsden. Movies: The Lord of the Rings (obviously), From Hell, Pirates of the Caribbean, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Identity, El Mariachi, Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico, The Matrix movies, The Mists of Avalon, Interview with the Vampire, Sleepy Hollow, The 13th Warrior, and anything else that is kinda creepy and violent! Story Genres: I only really read stories which focus upon the darker side of life and fantasy. Action and battle scenes, character suffering and pain, and stories with as much blood as possible are my favorites. Mary-Sues I hate, romance I despise (apart from the occasional slash when I am in an odd mood). Give me the evil stuff! ;) ***** New Story Alert! (External Link) Returning with a story deemed too ‘face-fanning hot’ for the pages of fanfiction.net, Minka once again delves into darkness with the newest product of her ambiguous imagination. ’The King's Conquest’ escorts the reader on a path which twists precariously along the boundaries of desire, duty and the fantasies which one normally strives to veil. But just where does one end and the other begin, and what happens when the placement of such limitations is no longer within your power to decide? Summary: (Alternate Universe) King Elessar of Gondor is notoriously renowned throughout Middle Earth for his endless pursuit of military power and trinkets of beauty. It is also greatly understood that he has the ways and means of getting whatever his heart desires, so when his eye fixates upon the Elven realm of Mirkwood, her only prince is forced to do whatever he can to keep his people alive. But when that demands a price which Legolas cannot possibly understand, where is the logical place to draw the line? Trapped in a situation both alien and unnerving, Legolas loses himself in a world full of power, dominance and emotional intrigue where only three questions remain clear; to fight or surrender, to live or die, to give or to be taken. Praise for ’The King’s Conquest’: Reviewed as being ’absolutely amazing.’ Readers are kept spellbound as ’...the plot was absolutely riveting’ And the climax? ’When the truth finally comes out in the end, it is…fantastic!
