Okay, after watching all the trailers and reading up on it on the KH Wiki, here is my theory on the Sora-Ven-Roxas relationship: Master Xehanort did something that was causing Ven to like, lose his heart to the darkness or something, and so he asked Aqua to 'erase him.' So maybe Aqua like, removed all his memories and made his heart into a blank slate and gave it to Terra. Then maybe Terra put the heart into Sora's body (since Terra's been seen looking at Sora and Riku playing on the beach when they were really young), since this has been proven possible like in the case with Kairi's heart. So maybe when Sora's released his heart to free Kairi, he also released Ven, but Ven didn't have his memories. And then Xemnas found him and mistook him for Sora's Nobody and gave him the name Roxas. AND the reason they needed Roxas to help restore Sora's memories was cause Ven's heart had been in Sora's body for so long that it had like, become part of Sora so it held some of his memories and junk.
