Isabel Gets Married challenge.
Okay, I got this idea from Shadow.Raven.x 's wonderful piece and my own story that I have been working on that I have yet to finish. I will be posting it soon as an example piece.
The Topic: The story has to be a one-shot of Isabel's marriage day, in any POV you like and are comfortable with. There will be NO PRIZES. It's just some simple competitive fun.
If you want to join this competition please PM me the link of your story and I will post it on the special community I created specifically for this contest. The link: http://www.fanfiction.net/community/Isabel_gets_married_Challenge/62821/
Th rules: 1) It must be a one-shot.
2) It must be PG-13 rated. If you want to include the wedding night -cough--cough- please make sure you rate it appropriately.
3) Entries must be submitted by December first. That gives you plenty of time.
4) It must be of Isabel's wedding. There is no specification to who she marries. It can be Matt if you're sick enough to do it. But it MUST be Isabel. Any POV is acceptable.
5) You are allowed ONE edit. And in that edit, you CANNOT change any event. If you have Arkarian tapdancing in a tutu, Arkarian must STAY tapdancing in a tutu. You are, however, allowed to change minor points such as sentence structures, grammar and spelling. If you accidentally double post please tell me so or else it will be considered as your edit, and please be honest about it. Anyone who edits more than once will NOT be considered for the voting but your story will stay in the community as an example for others.
6) You can submit as many as you want in any POV you want. There is no limit to the number of stories you are allowed to submit.
7) Poetry is accepted.
8) It doesn't JUST have to be the wedding; you can kill Isabel at the end of it, but the wedding MUST be in there in some form. I highly discourage an underlying plot, but if you can pull it off in a one-shot, please feel free to write away.
9) It doesn't have to be fluff or limes or lemons or any fruit, mold, or bacteria you can think of. There can be angst, drama, comedy even. It's a very free style competition.
If you have any questions or are unsure if something is permitted or not, please feel free to PM me.
The judging: I will choose the top five to ten of all the submissions by the third of December- I am assuming there will be more than five stories (hopefully)but I'm not pressuring anyone- and then there will be a poll on my profile in which y'all will choose your all time favorite. Please know that there will be no prizes for the winner- at least not up till now - it's just some writing fun.
I will judge on the following points - not in any specific order -: 1) GRAMMAR!! I am a grammar freak so don't test me.
2) Reasonably acceptable spelling and good writing technique.
3) Originality and charactarisation. The more IC the better. And the more original the greater the chance of winning.
4) The length. If it's too short and fast paced, or if it's too long and drags on forever, it's not going to make the cut. I want reasonably paced, well developed stories. You may not get anything out of it but please put some effort into it. Even if it's just 100 words and you convey the point you were trying to make, that would be fantabulous. And if it's 3000 words and captivating from begging to end, then that's good too. I would rather you submitted one good, well thought out story than twenty crappy pieces. Sorry if anyone is offended.
5) Who you choose to get Isabel to marry DOES NOT MATTER. I will not be biased. As long as I can believe what's happening, I will accept it. It may even give you a better chance at winning in the originality and quality writing sections. If you think you can do it justice, go right ahead.
6) Also which POV you choose to do it from has no effect whatsoever on the results. Just make sure you're in character. And even if you're out of character don't make it too radical (like a tap dancing Arkarian).
I will be posting an example very soon hopefully.
May the best writer win.
