Author has written 3 stories for X-overs, and Death Note.

Please feel free to leave a review for any of my work. It partially keeps me from straying too far into drivel, and partially keeps the chapters coming. Not that I write for the attention. Well, obviously I do write for the attention, but it's nice to pretend I write for other reasons. Like love. Or charity. But we both know the truth. So do some feedback, people.

If anyone likes my work - doubtful - and thinks I might like their work - doubtful - and is interested in co-writing a piece, contact me. I love the concept of differing styles and ideas merging to create mindless nonesense. Or beautiful music. Your call.

Below are some notes and summaries of my work - be it current or set for some future date - for anyone that actually enjoyed the sputum I scrawled and felt the need for some self-commentary. Or alternatively, for those of you that hated the sputum I scrawled and felt the need to mock my pretentious warbling.

I'm joking, there's no pretension on FanFiction.net. Can you imagine?

The Fantastica - The Volumes

Essentially my experiment with the cross-over genre. Draws from a variety of sources, be they ones I like or otherwise, including Torchwood, Heroes, Harry Potter, Donnie Darko, Ashes to Ashes, Death Note, Transformers, X-Files, to varying degrees. Hopefully this will be a successful delving into a genre I myself have never really understood or particularly enjoyed, using a few canonical sources I might not have ever really enjoyed.

Each volume will work with a unified overarching storyline, which may be utterly original or a reworking of another canon's telling of events, which will tie in and bring together a collection of smaller character story arcs, as characters slowly come together and disperse, and as perhaps new characters - and new canonical sources - are introduced.

If you enjoyed The Fantastica volumes, please feel free to praise me wherever possible. I don't always particularly like the work I produce, and the sycophancy of the anonymous masses rarely fails to soothe my self-doubt.

If you didn't enjoy it and have some helpful constructive criticism to offer, feel free to offer it. I most likely won't listen, and will plough on regardless, because frankly I'm somewhat arrogant. But it's always nice to know you care.
If you just want to insult my scribblings, be inventive. It might ease the pain.

The Fantastica - Volume 1: Black Dossier

First installment of The Fantastica, currently a work-in-progress.
The very first experiment with the mass cross-over genre, hopefully establishing the universe and mythology that brings the various canons together. The 'black dossier' in question is simultaneously a reference to the Death Note involved in the storyline and homage to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen collection of the same name. I'm clever like that.

The overarching storyline concerns the rise of a new Kira, set in the near future not so long after the fall of Light Yagami, a storyline so overused I'm hoping it appeals on a kitsch value. In Japan, Nate Rivers - operating under the guise of L - reopens the Kira-case to close down the new killer as quickly as possible, while in the United Kingdom a reformed Torchwood, divided and reshuffled in the years between the volume's present and the programme's own, discovers the returned threat may be closer than expected. In America a brutal killer with a sick penchant for mutilation is hunted by the International Confederation of Wizards after his crimes begin to extend into the wizarding world, while a man thought to have died in 1988 is born again, and sets about fixing the world with newly discovered powers, his mind slowly breaking down as the figure that haunts him leads him into a self-destructive spiral.

The Fantastica - Volume 2: Cthulhu Cycle

Working title for the second volume of The Fantastica. Sketchy ideas as to how the world is left after the first volume and where it goes from there are the primary thoughts at the moment.

Alternate titles and concepts are Dalek Invasion, Adventures of Ianto Jones, Past Transgressions and Gospel Cycle. All to varying degrees of thoughout-edness.
What comes out eventually is a mystery, to be honest. I hadn't even realised Jack Sparrow would be in the first one.

Other Work

Non-Fantastica stories I might accidentally churn out. Will largely be short, oneshot pieces experimenting with the feel of a character before I actually use it anywhere else, or else be a story I really don't want associated with The Fantastica. Essentially, if I should accidentally do any purely slash-based stories, this is where they'll be.

The Picture of Teru Mikami

Nothing to do with Wilde's famous piece, unfortunately. Messing around with writing style - far more detached, vague, no dialogue - and with the character. Largely because I expect I'll want to use Mikami for a larger purpose some time soon, and would hate to abuse such an excellent character.

The Bleak House of Doctor Watari

The Bleak House of Doctor Watari is utterly and shamelessly inspired by the rather excellent Gaslight Gothic and Scarlet Letter, both by the talented RobinRocks. Having read and thouroughly enjoyed both, and being both a Death Note enthusiast and a fan of the Victorian era and associated literature as a whole, I couldn't help but pay homage to (or 'steal', as the term is more commonly known) the concept.

If it looks unfinished, that's because I don't see it going anywhere for the moment. If I feel it needs more in the future, I'll work on it, but for the moment I'm happy to let it stand as more a premise than an actual storyline-centric piece.
