Author has written 2 stories for Twilight. ~Update - 18.04.09~ Hey-hey—I’m back! Okay, so I kind of disappeared off the face of the earth for a while there. Like I said in the Author’s Note on the last chapter, I was dealing with some pretty serious issues, but the problem was I wasn’t dealing with them well. shudder But now, it’s all good! : I’ve dealt with them, I’ve moved on and I’ve been able to concentrate on things that are important. And, yes, that does include IBWIBFY. All of you stressing that I have forgotten about the story, fear not—I never forgot about it (who could ever forget about Twilight?). I just had to step back and leave it alone for a while because I was worried that if I tried to work on it while I was messed up, I’d ruin the story. And I think I did a good thing in doing that, even if it caused a bit of panic about the story’s future. In all honesty, I was actually considering scrapping the story, but it’s a good thing I changed my mind, eh? Ah, I’d just like to thank everyone for being so supportive, for all the smiles and well-wishes. So…thank you. I avoided my inbox for a while, and when I finally logged back in for the first time a couple of months ago, it was chocas with reviews and PMs, all hoping I find my muse, and that things work out ok…and they were the first real step back towards working on the story. I know this might sound trivial, but it was a pretty dark time for me—I’m not usually a negative person, but at the time, everything was too much, and I couldn’t see any way out. And the reviews and stuff really did help. It’s really…uplifting, for want of a better word, to know that there are people out there who actually cared about something I did, and that they liked it and wanted more. It gave the work I had been doing a purpose, made it worthwhile. So basically, you guys have kept this story alive. Uh, I also want to thank my boyfriend, too. He was the real driving force behind everything. One day he got a bit curious about all the emails I was getting, because they were all from the same place. I was a bit grudging when I told him what it was, being all the emails from FanFiction.net, because I’m pretty shy about my writing. I explained that I wrote Fan Fiction for Twilight and he laughed. Yeah, that was a real confidence booster, right there. He knows I love to write, he just didn’t know that I wrote Fan Fiction—he found it funny for some reason…what reason, I’m not really sure, he never could elaborate for me. Now, the thing about my boyfriend is that he doesn’t like to read. He’s one of those guys that have never read a book from cover to cover because he just can’t see the point of it when you can watch a live action film instead. So I didn’t think he’d chase it any further. Yet, when I came home from work one night, there he was, sitting on the computer, reading IBWIBFY on FanFiction.net. I was mortified. Posting it on the net for you guys to read is one thing, but to have someone so close to me read it is a completely different thing entirely. I’m not really sure why, but I just find it so nerve-racking. He said he wanted to see what it was about the story that caught you all. And ever since, he’s been urging me to write. : And not just my Fan Fiction—he’s also been pushing me to work on my own little project that I also pushed away. He wants me to work on that more than the Fan Fiction because “it has more potential”. I hadn’t realised he’d read my own story until he said that. He got all sheepish, when I confronted him about it (you have to understand that I haven’t let anyone read it—not even my mother—and I get pretty territorial about it) and said he wanted to see if it was as good as IBWIBFY. LOL. That’s the only thing that saved him from sleeping outside. But yeah. It’s not just the Fan Fiction he helped me with. I probably wouldn’t be where I am today if didn’t have him. So you guys can expect an update sometime in the near future : I’m excited to get it up—I just have to get some small kinks worked out of it, then it’ll be sweet. Also, keep your eye out for a new story I’ve been working on. It’s a bit darker than IBWIBFY because I take Edward in a new direction, but I’ve tried to stay as true to the characters as possible. Sarah Backes ... everybody calls me Backes 'cause I have two other friends called Sarah and Backes is unique - I know you're talking to me when you say Backes. I was born and raised here in the quaint little town of Newcastle on Australia's east coast. I'm 20 years old on the 24th of December...Yup, for real--my birthday is on Christmas Eve. I'm the third of four children and that fact kind of drives me insane 'cause I have two older sisters, both of whom I look like (even if one is blonde - the other is brunette, like me). I constantly hear the phrase "God, you look like (insert either of my sister's names here) !" Like ... DUH ! Of course I'm going to look like my sisters (ok, I know some people don't look like their siblings, but it's generic in my family) and yes, of course I'm aware of that fact since I GREW UP WITH THEM... --shakes head-- It's so disappointing ... I'm not sure whether to take it as an insult to my intelligence that I wouldn't know who I looked like or whether to take it as a complement that at least they didn't THINK I was my sisters... my little brother (who is actually taller than me and only 18 months younger) is just a pain in my a... What else ? I'm a bit of a book fanatic ... ok, 'a bit' may be an understatement, but don't get the wrong idea ... as much as I love stimulating my mind with a good book, I'm a very active kind of person. I do sport - I play netball, I snowboard whenever I can afford to go down to the snow, I like to pretend I can surf. It may only take me 14 hours to finish a 600+ page book but I can't sit down and read it without moving ... especially if its a good book - like Twilight ... I know most people, well the one's I talk to, get glued to their seats when they read a good book. I know I've got a good book when I have to get up and do a queer little jig to get rid of all the tension my excitement brings up ... so to all the authors out there (including those on fanfic) you've done well by me when I jig. I may as well tell you some of my favourite books and authors while I'm at it : I love to drive. I just bought me a sexc little Mazda 2 (one of the new ones) and I love taking her out for long drives. I find it really relaxing - it calms me down and clears my head, especially when I have the window down and Flyleaf blasting out the speakers ... ok, so they don't blast out the speakers because I value my hearing too much, but they do play rather loudly. I enjoy writing. I've been working on a little project of mine since about ... wow - since 2000/2001 ... I hadn't realised it'd been over five years ... wow. Anywhosits ... I've been contemplating maybe posting excerpts somewhere or something just to get an idea of what people think. Maybe... I love, love, love music. I hardly ever used to listen to it and now I'm pretty sure I'd have a hard time without it... I like to draw maps ... and collect them - the old-world ones, I mean, like you see in Pirates of the Caribbean. Actually, when I went to America, I bought three different maps on a cruise of the Caribbean, all old-school. I love 'em. But, yeah, I like to draw them too. I can't draw anything else but I can draw maps. I've drawn about four so far for my little writing project. I'm also a massive Dragon fanatic. My Dragon collection is second only to those in the shops, as far as I'm aware. Seriously. ~My Fics~ I've currently only authored 2 fics so far and if you're here, that most probably means you've already read a least one of them ... or what there is of them. 1) It's Better When I Bleed For You - A Twilight Fic 2ND PLACE WINNER FOR BEST WRITING-IN-PROGRESS OVER AT THE TWILIGHT AWARDS--THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED, YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME!! 1ST PLACE WINNER FOR BEST OVERALL STORY OVER AT THE TWILIGHT FANFICTION AWARDS--THANKS AGAIN GUYS! THIS STORY WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT YOU!! Detailed Summary: I had never wished more fervently that I could bend time, that I could go back and never leave her, than I had when Alice had told me she was dead. When Laurent and Bella cross paths in the meadow, Alice sees that Bella doesn't manage to escape before Laurent attacks her. Alice sees Laurent drinking from her and when everything goes black, Alice assumes it means the very worst for Bella. What Alice can't see is the arrival of the werewolves, interrupting Laurent's meal. Edward goes to Italy, but his attempted suicide is diverted by his loyal family, who eventually convince him to come back with them. Eighty years later, the Cullens decide to relocate to Chicago... Also, I recieved a pretty interesting review that mentioned wanting to see the reactions of the other people in Bella's life when she was changed. Since that doesn't fit in with my current story, I may be making it a series...for those of you who might be interested... 2) You Could Be Mine - A Twilight Fic This is just a little two (2) part story that I wrote because it was hindering my progress on IBWIBFY...but people are asking for more o.O I don't THINK it will go any further because it was just a writing exercise. But anyway... About the story: It's my version of Edward and Bella's wedding night from Edward's point of view and if you avoid this kind of story because a good majority seem to get out of hand and are usually almost worthy of being XXX rated porn, then don't worry--I'm not one for writing pornographic details. I tried to capture the sweeter side of their relationship and their first time together.
