Author has written 12 stories for Good Omens, Fairy Tales, and Sherlock Holmes. Have decided to completely rewrite profile, since the old one was starting to smell. ME: I'm a college student with delusions of grandeur and too much time on her hands. I love love love fantasy/sci fi. Tolkien is my favorite author, The Lord of the Rings trilogy is my favorite book (/are my favorite books... I never know how to say that). Besides fantasy/sci fi anything I like music, literature in general, sparkly things, Alan Rickman, and tortellini pizza (That's pizza with tortellini on it. Don't judge until you've tried it. It's delicious.) I also highly enjoy photography and being snarky about movies and books, so I'm looking for a job as a critic who takes pictures. I'm apparently not allowed to major in Talking About Movies and Books and Taking Pictures, though, so I'm majoring in English instead for the moment. I am the kind of person who will tilt at windmills because they might be giants. I have a livejournal, for anyone who enjoys large doses of random. MY FANDOMS: I write for: Sherlock Holmes Good Omens Firefly (someday maybe I'll finish that first story I've been working on for months, I mean) Fairy Tales Artemis Fowl (again, someday...) This list may get longer at some point--there are lots of fandoms that I haven't even started stories for yet, but that I have lots of ideas about... MY WRITING: I don't know where I ever got the idea that I'm better at writing drama than humor. I like writing emotional, angsty pieces, especially for Sherlock Holmes, but my best work always ends up being humorous. #shrug# I'm working on a short, weird piece for SH at the moment, as well as a handful of drabble-ish prompt answers (I won't call them drabbles for all you purists out there ;-) "Ficlets" or "drabble-ish" will have to do). I'm also working on a Firefly Zoe/Wash pre-series oneshot, an Artemis Fowl oneshot on Foaly, and a Good Omens story on Crowley and the Seven Deadly Sins. Maybe someday, like twenty years from now, one of them will get done. Slash: I don't have an extreme position on slash. I generally prefer non-slash, but I don't go out of my way to avoid it--there are some really great slash fics out there. And in some fandoms it's just impossible to avoid anyway coughGoodOmenscough XD I personally don't write slash, however. This is simply because I am no good at it. If I write up a relationship between two characters, it has to be canon, otherwise I just can't get it right. And then it bothers me, and I go crazy. Six Words: Somebody once challenged Hemingway to write a story in six words. He came up with: "For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn." Chilling, eh? So then other people started writing stories about their lives in six words, and I kind of got into it. Here's my latest: Excessive free time. Get a job! | |||||||||
