Author has written 17 stories for Robin Hood, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and Harry Potter. About Me: My name is Sarah, and I'm from Somerset in England, but currently living in Leeds. I'm at Leeds University doing my nurse training, which I love. I love to write, read, I love music and mythology. I used to like Twilight, but now it just pisses me off, which is a shame because a friend bought me a Twilight poster for my birthday, and I have to put it up because I don't want to offend her. So many other things I could put up in its place... I seem to have a major problem with writer's block. It's struck me on my two longest and favourite stories, but only for parts of it. The rest (including the endings) have already been written, they just need linking with the rest of the story. I also seem to have a problem with finishing off my stories. Bad, I know... When I am reviewing a story, I always try to give constructive critisism where ever possible, because I think its a really good way of improving your writing. I always appreciate concrit in return. In fact, I beg you for it. Ilove reviewing, I always try and review every story I read and give an honest opinion. If you want me to review one of your stories, just PM me and I'll give it a go, though I warn you, if I'm not familliar with the fandom, I won't be able to pick up on OOC characters, just the spelling and grammar and overall quality of the story. These are a few of my Favourite Things: Books: Lord of the Rings (the scope of what Tolkein created was/is actually amazing, and I would probably kill to have that level of creativity and dedication), Sense and Sensibility (love Austin, and this one is my favourite), Memoirs of a Geisha, Mists of Avalon (its the mythology in me), Forestwife Trilogy (again, I love legends and this is a really really great Robin Hood book), HP, Wuthering Heights (love the sadness), Angels and Demons (just a really good read) Films: Lord of the Rings, Tristan and Isolde, King Arthur, Hot Fuzz, Donnie Darko, Atonement, Pan's Labyrinth, Monty Python stuff, Walk the Line TV programmes: Mighty Boosh (ACTUALLY hilarious, the most random thing I have ever come across,) IT Crowd (sooooo funny), Bones, Britains Next Top Model (cus I'm really sad), Robin Hood (Some of the 1st series. The second series got silly and I refused to watch the third I don't even know if there is a third. But I won't watch it anyway. I also watched one episode of Merlin and think thats gonna go the same way. Stupid BBC), Black Books (I love Dylan Moran), Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Long Way Round/Down/Charley Boorman Ireland to Australia, Grey's Anatomy, ER (only the old stuff though. Not so keen on the new ones), Gavin and Stacey, Horne and Corden. Music: I love my music. So much so that I will camp for several days without showers, get hideously drunk and trample around in seventeen million inches of mud in brightly coloured wellies and raincoats, looking like I've crawled out of a drain just to watch them (YAY FOR MUSIC FESTIVALS!!). But I love all that too. Music festivals would not be music festivals without all that, and the fear and surprise of clambering into your tent at six in the morning to find some random already in there, and more to the point, that you don't care that they're there. Anyway, enough of that, here are some of my favourite bands: I love comedy, you might have guessed from the fact that more than half of my TV shows are comedies, and that's because I love to laugh. I'm rather light hearted, and I don't really like being serious (in real life, most of my stories on here are actually quite sad/angsty) Stories: Completed fics: A Cold Cup of Tea- this one is part of a little angsty collection of one-shots I’ve written that revolve around things that could be considered canon. In this one, Harry is an old man who goes to visit his cousin’s grave shortly after his funeral. He reflects on his relationship with Dudley, and how he turned out to be not all bad. About the Breaks of Day – part of my Robin Hood series. Well, sort of series. This will eventually be the epilogue to A Life in Sherwood once I finish it. It’s about how the legend of Robin Hood lives on, even though most of the protagonists and heroes are dead. A Stone from the Riverbank – this one is sort of my baby. It was written rather quickly (a couple of weeks I think) and ideas were coming at me from all angles. Basically it’s about the Resurrection Stone, and what happens to those that Harry calls back in Deathly Hallows. Russia Snow on the Mugglenet Beta Boards made me this wonderful banner for this story: http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww137/wooface13/Sapphirefinalfinal-2.png Dancing Petals – another one of my one-shots. I think that this was the first Harry Potter story I posted on here, and I’m fairly proud of it. It concerns the events after Aunt Marge whacked Harry round the legs with her walking stick at Dudley’s fifth birthday party. His Father’s Son – this was a one-shot, but is now a two-shot, but I’m thinking about changing it back. It was expanded upon for a challenge on Mugglenet, but I never got round to submitting it. It concerns everyone’s favourite Potions teacher, Professor Snape at the Hogwarts feast the year that Harry starts school. Justice – this one-shot is about what Peter Pettigrew feels and such in the moments after his death. Is rather angsty. Remembered – another of the one-shots inspired by Remembrance Day. In it, a little girl learns a lesson in Godric’s Hollow, long after the death of the famous Harry Potter. The Call of the Wild – this is another from the Robin Hood fandom. It’s about what Little John might feel and do after the death of Robin. Inspired by the prompt ‘a year after your death...’ Their Wasted Lives – yet another one-shot, this time concerning Remus in Prisoner of Azkaban after one of Harry’s anti-Dementor lessons. He uses Dumbledore’s Pensive to recall his own school days, and the friends he made. In-progress fics: A Life in Sherwood – this was my first fanfics that I posted up here. It’s about the Robin Hood legends told through Maid Marian’s eyes. I’ve gone up to chapter seventeen and have hit a rather large brick wall with it. It’s currently undergoing editing, so there is one chapter missing which means it might not make much sense. Bear with me, I’m working on it! Detentions – this is my little indulgence fic. It describes some of the ways James and Sirius might have got a detention in each of the lessons. They’re quite fun to write, but coming up with original ideas is quite hard! Morgan le Fay – the second fic I started to write. It’s a re-telling of the Arthurian legends revolving around Morgan le Fay. Like Sherwood I’ve hit a brick wall so haven’t updated for a long, long time. Oh, You May Not Think I’m Pretty – this is a little fic which each chapter revolves around the Sorting of a character from the Harry Potter series. I haven’t done anything with this one for a long time so I’m considering deleting it. Shine a Light – this is my current work in progress, and I’m really, really loving writing it. It’s a next gen fic, so is centred pretty much round OCs. It’s based on a book I read recently called Mariana by Susanna Kearsley. It involves a lot of flashbacks to the seventeenth century (which have been incredibly fun to write), and has a lot of little romances in it. This is the wonderful banner for this story, made by whomovedmyquill on the Mugglenet Beta Boards: http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww137/wooface13/shinebanner-1.jpg Tangled Webs we Weave – this is a Peter story. It will basically (and hopefully when I get round to writing more of it) concern the years that the Marauders and Lily were in the Order and the events that led up to Peter’s betrayal. The Third Brother – a Mugglenet challenge has got the ball rolling for this fic again. It’s a collection of drabbles that centre around Percy Weasley and who he was and what he did. Undecided fics: A Walk in the Rain – as it says above, this fic is undecided. It was originally meant as a one-shot detailing how Lily and James got together, but I began thinking and planning it out to be a series of scenes from their years at Hogwarts. However, this is the only one I’ve written yet. | |||||||||||
