August 17, 2008 My family and I went down to San Diego for a weekend trip. It was a lot of fun, and San Diego has a lot to offer. If you haven't been there, I really recommend you visit. Old Town was filled with cute shops with Mexican crafts and food, especially food =). We said there during the opening of the Olympic games and say the Opening Ceremony on t.v. I wished I were in China instead of San Diego, but not all wishes come true. That will be something remembered for years (my mom is ordering the dvd online). Anyway, back to San Diego. We also went to the Wild Animal Park, which is not the San Diego Zoo. We went to the zoo first, but then found out it was the wrong place. The animals were so BIG. I got tons of great pics too! I even got to feed ducks in the pond. At night my family went on a gondola ride during the sunset. On the last day, my dad and I went mining in Pala, a few miles north of San Diego. I found some black tourmaline crystal (not that good), but my dad found some rarer green tourmaline and a huge aquamarine. My mom and brother didn't want to go because it was tiring. It really was, an hour into it and I was exhausted. After that, it was water skiing. I swallowed at least a gallon of salt water. My brother did a little bit better (but he still drank some when he feel in). It was gross, I mean I drank fish crap! I was actually kinda glad to go home. San Diego was fun, but nothing beats home. School starts in eight day, so I probably won't be writing as much. Sorry
