Author has written 22 stories for Transformers/Beast Wars, Doctor Who, A-Team, Facts of Life, Dead Zone, Torchwood, X-Men: Evolution, Twilight, Misc. Movies, StarTrek: The Next Generation, and Wizards of Waverly Place. Greetings fellow members of the human persuasion. I have to say, I am in awe of how brave anyone who has posted on this site is. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there for people to see, read, critique, etc… I would never have had the courage to post an emoticon here, let alone a story had I not been dared by a friend. Curse people who remember what I was like in school. There really isn’t much to say about me, except I tend to talk a lot and I don’t really watch what I say at times, so I am sorry if I offend anyone. I write – obviously, but didn't start writing fan fiction until a friend of mine approached me about it after the Transformers Movie came out. Although I may have a story I wrote about the Popples from when I was younger, if anyone can remember them. I get bored easily, so I tend to spend time writing (or doing something else!) on one thing then leave it until the desire hits to write again. I have a general rule to finish something before I post it, thanks to my friend KC since she tends to verbally kick me up the backside if I don't finish. Most that I write will probably be short unless the demons keep me up at night. Because of this I also tend to find different things interesting at different times, so I will probably not stick to one or a few fandoms, but end up writing about too many and get lost trying to sort it out. Go figure. My Age – Old enough to know better, young enough I could probably get away with it. I have a degree in Elementary and Middle School Education, but the pay teachers receive in the US is quite abysmal, so I am in the process of moving to South Korea so I can teach and learn about other countries at the same time. What better way to learn about a culture different than mine then to go there! We start teaching in the beginning of March, so I am actually currently in South Korea; waiting patiently to travel to the Gyeongbuk Provience on the 27th of February. My only dislike - The act of someone allowing ignorance to keep them from learning everything we have been offered. My favorite book is "Tim" by Colleen McCullough - there is a beautiful movie with Mel Gibson from the 70's and another from the 90's. I also read Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice at least once a year. Things no one wanted to know : 1. I have been banned from using Star Trek references while at work. 2. I have also been banned from discussing Skippy’s List and Chucknorrisfacts.com content. In addition, anything that is said on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, is not allowed. (I obviously like Skippy's List.) 3. I am allowed to reference Doctor Who, though no one knows what I am talking about. 4. I have to limit my Transformers references to eight times a day. 5. I am no longer allowed to burst into song for no apparent reason, especially television theme songs. 6. I translated the birthday song into Klingon and sang it to a friend who had turned 27. 7. I reference Shakespeare in everyday conversation, more than I probably should. 8. If I am reading any of your stories on this site, via my phone, while at work, I need to keep from cackling like the Wicked Witch of the West. 9. Referencing anything that someone might not know anything about, like obscure books from the 1800’s, graphic novels, television shows and actors from before I was born, need to be kept at a minimum because people don’t know or don’t care. (I tend to overact while at work, using a lot of movements I learned from watching way too many Charlie Chaplin movies. It makes people laugh, especially when I do the "Roll Dance" using pizza slices or the like.) 10. I am no longer allowed to text message my friends at two in the morning with questions like : do you consider me clinically crazy or warm-fuzzy crazy? The answer I got back was clinically, because of the time of day. On normally asking that question, it would be warm-fuzzy. I live with two dogs and am bummed since they have to stay behind when I leave for South Korea, at least until it's warm enough to fly them over. My first dog got her name because of my head being somewhere in outer space, so I call her Nebula. My second dog got her name from the great David Hewlett (Stargate SG1 and Atlantis); she goes by Lovey, but her name is Beloved. I’ve been given three great compliments in life : The spaceship that dropped me off here, needs to pick me up and take me back home. I know, freakin, everything (which isn’t true, I just do a good job of pretending). I could rival the filibuster Jimmy Stewart’s character did in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. (Though a friend recently commented that I talk like the people from the "Twilight" series do. Not sure if that's a compliment, though she is enamored with all four books, so I will take it as a compliment.) I have recently started a page on the sister site for original ideas. If you would like to check it out - http://www.fictionpress.com/u/626614/ If you have continued reading this far, I drop my hat to you. | |||||||
