Welcome to the profile page of a damsel who is very much in stress. Drowning in teenage angst but still finding time to write, read and review fanfiction, probably until the day she dies. Or grows up. Neither of which will hopefully be happening any time soon.

Firstly I'd like to introduce myself, I am a major reader and reviewer of fanfiction and secondly a passable author. Although I write in only a few fandoms, I read in a lot more. Outside of fanfiction I spend my days watching Pirates of the Caribbean, Doctor Who and many old forgotten TV series, occasionally creeping out into the garden for air and ending up sitting on a rickety bench reading Artemis Fowl, The Squire's tales, Harry Potter, David Eddings, Diana Wynne Jones, Tamora Pierce, The Edge Chronicles, Tolkien, or anything else I happen to stumble upon. I am still in school and this is my GCSE year, so I will have sadly be spending less time on the computer and more on working towards a future career.

I'm a bit of a geek, who masquerades as an arty-farty media person. I'm also a dreamer and a hopeless romantic, hiding behind a façade of scepticism and sarcasm. I am now at that age and temperament where I would, sadly, be considered a fangirl. I am 15 years old, obsessive and prone to loud fits of excitement over books, films, TV shows and characters. I would like to think that despite this chronic character flaw I can be forgiven as, unlike many fangirls my age, I can string together a coherent sentence when the occasion calls for it.

My pet peeves include: people who read stories on fanfiction and don't leave the smallest sentence of a review, people who shoot first and ask questions later, hypocrites, burnt toast, bus stations, unrequited love, tyranny and cruelty.

As far as my writing is concerned, I write about things that I know and things that I like. My policy has always been to support the underdog and I tend to lean heavily towards minor or unloved characters. Heroes can look after themselves. I write when I'm inspired and hop from fandom to fandom sowing stories and reviews in my wake. I live for reviews and think it's good manners to tell an author what you think of their story. I always review and review reply and am of the opinion that reviewing and replying are the foundations upon which fanfiction is built. I hope you enjoy my fanfics or perhaps my reviews.

Yours in greatest sincerity,

~Damsel

The Official bit..

My Disclaimer: I seldom remember to write one on all my stories, so here is a general disclaimer to cover my back, considering the ambiguous legality involved in writing fanfiction. Dear directors, actors, producers and writers, I am making no money out of the characters I borrow off you and, as I always give them back afterwards, I'd appreciate it if you don't sue me. I own nothing but a computer, a wide imagination, a deep love of the characters and too much spare time. Thank you to those people, who are wonderful, and vastly more imaginative than me, who have created the characters I love and given me this amazing hobby. ~(Signed) CJDennis, aspiring ff.net writer. :)

My Stories..

POTC:

One For Sorrow

A story set in Cutler Beckett's childhood, which focuses on him and his unfortunate mother. While the young and inexperienced Cutler makes friends with Mercer the beggar's son and his sister Marianne, his mother throws in her lot with Julian, a charming rogue she knew before she married. A little bit of love and a lot of pain sees Cutler Beckett well on his way to becoming the monster we see in PotC and his mother is the one who will ultimately pay the price. This is still in progress and looking to be quite long, so reviews and constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

A Matter of Perspective

Till Death do us Part

A Watched Kettle

A series of stories from the point of view of James Norrington's loyal, love-sick maid, Annie. At first the writing is a little rough but I improve over time with help from my awesome reviewers and my amazing beta-reader, Nytd. One rainy day I do intent to go back and smooth out the creases in the first story but for now I'll leave it in it's original form. The tales are foremost humorous angst, but do include a little romance in the final short story. Really they were written as a bit of fun and misadventure for an innocent and ignored, but, hopefully, fairly likeable heroine.

Innocence

A Beckett-centric one-shot. Exploring his unique personality.

As If She Were Alive

Written for a challenge over at the 'Broken Compass' Forum. A tale of Cutler Beckett, unrequited love, a mysterious painting and a death. Based on the poem, 'My Last Duchess'.

The Rise and Fall of Commodore James Norrington

A place for me to hide my shameless angsty Norrington-centric one-shots.

At the Sign of the Broken Compass

A collection of various drabbles inspired by prompts and challenges from the 'Broken Compass' Forum. This stretches a long period of time and my writing has changed dramatically through out it.

Labyrinth:

Nine Lives

No question about the fact my writing has improved and matured since then, but this story has a special place in my heart. Hopefully something different and fun, featuring a unique, furry, feline, heroine. Set years after Sarah first runs the Labyrinth, with an older Toby, an immature villain and a Jareth/Sarah flavour.

Crystal Clear

Again, not my best work, but full marks for creativity. This is the short tale of an unlucky goblin who was unfortunate enough to offend the Goblin King, and her ill-fated, amusing, quest for revenge.

Tempted

A short, mildly poetic, serious, one-shot.

Star Trek: 2009

Logical Conclusions

A one-shot exploring the evolving relationship between Kirk and Spock, written from Uhura's POV. Written as an outlet for my sudden Star Trek obsession and bridging the gap between ST09 and TOS.

Doctor Who

Walking in Eternity

A series of hurt/comfort style one-shots featuring my personal favourite companion, Sarah Jane Smith. If the plot bunnies keep behaving, more will follow..

The Edge Chronicles

Twilight Hours

A few drabbles I wrote on those wonderful fusty academics, the Professors of Light and Darkness, after I had cried at the end of 'Midnight over Sanctraphrax'.

10th Kingdom:

Sheep Worrying

My first short attempt at fanfiction. Nothing special but hopefully a lot of fun. :)

Reviews are always welcomed! :D

Mothers of the Caribbean: A collection of one-shots, each by different authors about different characters, inspired by the mothers of our beloved pirate rogues. I wrote the chapter on Cutler Beckett's mother.

Begun by Blood: "Begun by blood, by blood undone". These are some of the stories of the recovery of the 882 identical pieces of cursed gold.

I have joined the review revolution.

Look at me,

I will never pass for a perfect bride, or a perfect daughter.

Can it be, I'm not meant to play this part?

Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart.

Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me?

Why is my reflection someone I don't know?

Somehow I cannot hide who I am though I've tried,

When will my reflection show who I am inside?

~ Reflections, Mulan
