Carrie ;) YOU KNOW YOU'RE A Torchwood Fan WHEN... ...when in a revision pop quiz in school everyone else calls out "buzz" or "Bounce" or "boing"...you call out "Doctoooor!!" ...when you wanted to use "captainjackharknessiantojonesmarthajonesowenharpergwencoopertoshikosato" but they wouldn't let you ...when Torchwood is a taboo subject in school ...when in the car, on the way home, once Friend A has gotten out you immediately turn to Friend B (a vague Woodie) who's giving you a lift and rush to tell her news about TW ...when you get up really early so you can get a seat with Friend B on the bus so you can talk TW on the way ...when you go on a trek across London, stranding your Mum in Sheperd's Bush and going to visit the Who Shop and end up having 15 minutes there before it shuts ...when 10 of those are spent drooling over the life size Dalek ...when you're so so so happy that you're parents old mates are moving to your town as they are religious whovians ...when it just about makes your day when one of them asks the other if this risotto is "canon" or "fanon" ...when you explain this to your dad, and his face is hilarious ...when you explain it in DW terms (ie Rose telling the Doctor that she loves him in Bad Wolf Bay is canon, but any implied stuff or fanfiction wishing that they were more together than on TV before this is fanon) ...when you spend tooooo much of your study leave on a DW roleplay site (votesaxon.org.uk, check it out!) ...when you watch blink on iplayer about 5 times in three days, then go to your friends house and watch it on DVD ...when you yell "Duck, you fool! Duck! DUCK! DUCK NOWWW!!" at the screen, and can time the "NOWW" bit with when she actually ducks ...when people copying what you say (even three year olds who think they're just being funny) reallr creeps you out ...when you can reference anything and everything to DW ...when you get very excited when you realise that your physics teacher has a big brown overcoat that swooshes out behing him as he walks ...when, now you think about it, he also says "Brilliant" far too much, and goes off into long long sidetracks about black holes or something ...when you almost expect him to satrt going. "Physics...physics...PHYsics...phySICs...physics, physics, physics..." ...when you're actually disappointed that he doesn't ...when you start liking physics anyway ...when you stop liking physics when he starts talking about Martha. I mean, really! MARTHA! GAhhhhh!! ...when you look at things and think "What colour would they go if they were sonic?" ...when you try to apply for the Tonight's The Night competition even though you're too young ...when your relative, an actor, gets you Matt Smith's autograph ...when you now want him to get Matt Smith to give a workshop in your drama class ...when you want to be an actress, and the role of a lifetime would be Companion ...when you read this list back and realise how much you miss the show ...when all of this is you ...when you feel quite proud of that :) | |||||||||||
