I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had.

We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us because she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men.

I am the mother who is not even allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised; the court says I am unfit mother because I now live with another woman.

I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman.

I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men.

I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until somebody told me only lesbians do that.

I am the woman who died when the EMTs stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual.

I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn't always have to deal with society hating me.

I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind.

I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most: love.

I am the boy tied to the fence, beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to "teach me a lesson".

On Gay Marriage...

1) "Being gay is not natural". Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, liposuction and air conditioning. The fact that there are recorded homosexual behavior (in humans) as far back as the ancient Greece means nothing, as done the fact that these tendencies are also found in animals.

2) "Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay", in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3) "Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior." By lowering the standards of marriage people may wish to marry their pets because a most pets have legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. Additionally, gay marriage will increase the popularity of polygamy, but most people who support polygamy don't feel that gay marriage is right, and polygamy is widely condemned throughout western civilization.

4) "Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all;" Then women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal. Which isn't true.

5) "Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed;" The sanctity of Brittany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed, because marriage should be about representatives from the different genders vowing to love 'till divorce, or death; marriage should not be about two people who love each other. Is that what you mean?

6) "Straight marriages are valid because they produce children." So what you're saying is, gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry either, because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children?

7) "Obviously gay parents will raise gay children," That doesn't make sense, you see, because straight parents don't only raise straight children.

8) "Gay marriage is not supported by religion." We don't have a theocracy, sweetie; one religion is not

9) "Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home." Then why don't we, as a society, forbid single parents to raise children?

10) "Gay marriage will change the foundation of society;" We never adapt to new social norms. That fact that we have changed our lifestyle to support the new social norms of cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans means nothing.

Generally, I'll let anything go as long as it's well written. I don't really appreciate the canon ships--and I certainly hate the canon HG. Why? Because Harry needs a partner. Someone to pull him out of his angst, and to watch his back. Someone who will take care of his insecurities, and who can support him. Canon Ginny could be that, but we just don't know. Sorry Jo, you did fantastic everywhere else, but not on romance. The good fanon HG features a matured, powerful Ginny who has Harry's back, and supports him through thick 'n' thin. The good HHr fanon needs a Hermione who's more emotional as well as less reliant on authority. (I stole the ideas in that from somebody else's profile. Don't sue! :P )

But of course, we all know HarryLuna is the best ship. Seriously! It's my personal fav. I just think they'd be good together. Better than canon Ginny/Hermione, anyway. Sigh.

Speaking of which, someone explain Ron/Hermione? Hermione? I can see Ron...but really, Hermione?
