Author has written 2 stories for Dynasty Warriors, and Avatar: Last Airbender. Weeaboos are the colon cancer of society. 'Tis true. :D Oh, and... THE CASTING DECISIONS OF THE LAST AIRBENDER IS WRONG. If you disagree then there is so much about America--and the entire world--that you don't know. The casting is a result of centuries-old discrimination. Institutional racism, white privilege, the Yellow Peril, cultural appropriation, reappropriation, orientalism, eurocentrism, ethnocentrism, cultural relativism, yellowface, exoticism, cognitive dissonance--learn about it and quit being in denial. "This is an ancient, fantastical Asian environment, primarily Chinese. There are no modern things like electricity. However, the Fire Nation is in their industrial revolution. They use steam powered ships, lay tracks to move supplies." ~ Avatar: The Last Airbender I.P. Bible "Avatar: The Last Airbender is a truly unique comic adventure with rich animation and incredible martial-arts choreography. Creators Bryan Konietzko and Mike DiMartino designed a fantastical Asian world with compelling characters and interesting creatures that will capture kids' imaginations and spirit." ~ Marjorie Cohn, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming, Nickelodeon. (Baisley, Sarah. "Nick Premieres Avatar in Hour Special Feb. 21 ." AWN Animation World Network. Web. 05 Nov. 2009. .) The basic concept was all there in our pitch: the world and the overall structure of the story we wanted to tell. Eric Coleman had indicated they were looking for a "legends and lore show," so we thought, what if this was set in an Asian mythical world? A legend based on the past, but an alternate past. ~ Michael Dante DiMartino, co-creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender (Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck, page 196) "You know, we just pour our heart, souls, and life experience into the show every day. We've been lucky because this is exactly the show we wanted to see and wanted to make. Nickelodeon has supported us all the way. What you see up there on the TV screen is definitely our vision." ~ Michael Dante DiMartino (Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck, page 196) http://seeking-avalon.blogspot.com/2009/07/white-ignorance-racism.html
I'm, uh, Debbie and I'm bored. Hella bored. Oh, yes. I'm never coming back here. Occasionally, I will come by and read some fics but that's it. No more updating. Blame it on FF.net. It kept on deleting "Frivolous," Yot's and my masterpiece. We're sick of FF.net. We are boycotting its existence by not coming here anymore. Yes, "Frivolous" still lives. Please check it out at the Dynasty Warrior Fangirls forum. =) Have a nice life, everyone. And remember: BOYCOTT FF.NET!! 09/01/2008 I chortled reading the above. That was me a couple of years ago. I think I haven't logged onto this account for a good five years. I don't know why, but I randomly decided to come back and redo some things. My ID was Chunsa back in the day. I had two fanfics: "Frivolous" (the one mentioned above that was co-written by Yot) and "One Inch of Love is an Inch of Ashes." The former was taken down multiple times by FanFiction.net while the latter was left incomplete, collecting dust for five years until I removed it from the site last week. It was actually the reason why I came back; I thought of it a few weeks ago and had an urge to finish what I had started. Rereading it, I was unsatisfied and decided to start all over from scratch. So now the only story I have up is "An Inch of Ashes." Hopefully I finish the story this time around. :3 I left this site at 13 and I return to it now at 18. Time flies, eh? 08/13/2009 'Kay, decided to tell y'all about myself. :D Wee! I'm a 19-year-old college student. ...alright. I think that's sufficient enough. No, really. I wasn't going to tell you much; I was only bothered by the stuff I wrote last September. Haha XD I'm not 18 anymore, so I just wanted to set that straight. Toodles! Oh, wait. It really grinds my gears when people favorite my stories, put them in their alerts, and/or read them without leaving feedback. Yes, I admit it: I really like feedback. I'm sure all writers do because it tells us what our readers enjoyed, what they might want, how they felt. It's also one of three things (the others being the title of the story itself and the summary below) new readers use to decide whether or not they want to read a story. True shit, y'all. So, be a bunch of sweeties and leave feedback because knowing that people read and like a story is what drives writers to keep writing. ;D Even a simple, "Good job!" warms my heart. :3 | |||||||
