Anything sort of goes with these (not too long though! XD) - the thing that irks me are the long 'conversations' between the characters and the author... Disclaimers: Actually, if your story is published on this website, you really don't need a disclaimer anywhere in your story! After all, it is called fanfiction.net for a reason. All the stories on here are pretty protected by the official terms of service. Lemons/Lime: I've written a few myself (but haven't put them on this site). Yes, I'm perfectly fine with reading them ;D I'm not a big fan of the really dirty stuff, though. I read from K to M, but tend to work around any real violence, or fantasy-based plots. (Excluding Kingdom Hearts fics) Lengthy Reviews: Long reviews make authors feel happy inside - the longer the review, the more they'll appreciate it. Then again, length isn't everything - three heartfelt sentences has more weight over six sentences of stuff like 'OMG I LOVE THIS STORY PLSSSS UPDATE!!1!!'. I love it when I get a really sincere review, and will also review their stories in return. Love Triangles: I almost never read stories where the main female/male character can't choose between two others. It's okay if part of it is onesided, but if it's really confusing and full of drama? Nope. I read this really terrible story, where Roxas liked Kairi, who liked Sora, who liked Namine, who liked AXEL, who liked...Roxas. O_O! No thanks. Original Characters (OC): I actually have no problem with characters the author creates, being part of the story. What I don't like is when the story is based on three or four OC's, with canon characters being the romantic interest. It just...bothers me. Review Replies: I believe that if the author takes the time to reply to reviews, it shows they truly read and care about what the readers have to say. A reader is more likely to review the next chapter if their first review is replied to. Songfics: Most of us are guilty of thinking about writing them, but let's be honest - how many people actually READ the lyrics? They may perfectly capture a certain moment or couple, but they just take people away from the original writing. If a song fits a chapter/oneshot, just stick a little note at the bottom or top with the artist and title. Though I know of a few songfics I've enjoyed - who knows? Yaoi/Yuri: Not a huge fan of either, to be honest. I'm not 'grossed out' by them (except Namine/Kairi or Roxas/Sora, which is just wrong in my head) - I just prefer Namixas over Akuroku.
