Now that I have covered all the greetings I would like to give to you where ever you are in the world, I should like to introduce myself.

Call me Lampwicke. What can I say about myself which will make any indelible impression? I will say:

I am startled by cruelty, but acknowledge it as a catalyst for change.

I am obsessive and wonder if you are too.

I wonder, but about the wrong things.

I long for transcendence, but stare bewildered at the diaper pail in my son's room, the dishes in the sink and the marking in my bag.

I love: the sound of the wind in October, sunlight falling on a glass of wine, and profound loneliness broken by a kiss.

But most of all, I love to write and write and write...
