This is my very first fanfic published online. I was 7 when the original Speed Racer anime came out in 1967, but until recently I hadn't paid that much attention to it. Then all the hoopla about the live-action film came about, and I went back and watched a couple of the original eps. I was hooked!

My writing goes beyond Racer, however. I began doing Knight Rider fanfics back about 1995 ("Knight Feud," "No Honor Among Thieves") in which I incorporated a group of my own characters, the Copperfields (a family rock'n'roll band), into the Rider universe. I also completed a stand-alone adventure for the Copperfields, 1998's "That's Croc 'n Roll," again incorporating Michael Knight, Dr. Bonnie Barstow, Garthe Knight and KITT into the storyline (Garthe Knight was now a good guy and Michael had retired from F.L.A.G. to become chief of security for the Copperfields!). But this is my first effort at a Speed Racer fanfic, along with my co-author/editor Janee Rutledge--and we had a blast doing it.
