Updates:

Chasing the Dragon: I'm currently slogging away at finishing off the elusive Chapter 33. Watch me work :)

Hear ye, Hear ye:
Any fans of CHASING THE DRAGON:
The lovely Phoenix Fire-Feather of The Hogwarts Library c2 has set up a forum to accompany her community and has been kind enough to offer up a thread for anyone who wants to discuss Chasing the Dragon (as well as a bunch of other fantabulous YGO/HP crossovers and some general discussion on the YGO/HP phenomena). Anyone with any questions about the story who want to ask me anything, do some guess-work as to what the hell the tangle I've gotten myself into will resolve itself as or have any comments in general are welcomed to go hither as I've promised to keep an eye out and answer any questions. It's a nice way to discuss the story in a less formal or individual setting than the reviewing system. They also seem like a lovely bunch of folks! (Run, quickly, over there before I use the word lovely again. Oops. There it goes.)

New STORY:
The Prewett Boys kind of snuck up on me and wouldn't leave me alone, don't really even know how that happened. As yet only the Prologue is posted, but I'm hard at work on the first chapter and investing in some hard slog of research and planning. Wish me luck.

Obligitory Crap About Author:
I am part-bogan, part-no good third year art student and (like the majority of art-students, fanfiction writers or just writers in general) part-flippin'mental.
I'm a pisces (for those of you playing the game at home) and fall under the influence of the Ash Tree under the Celtic Calendar.
I like alot of things including; singing the Captain Planet theme song, bogan music and mythology.
I dislike an almost equal amount of things including; fish (ironic, I know, Pisceans are weird that way), drama when it's inflicted upon me and has nothing to do with me and people fighting and bickering (it makes me edgy).
My name begins with an N and ends with an I.. or an A, depending on who you are.
I dabble in universes, usually have a million and one stories on the go at once and very rarely will any of them see the light of day.
I am one of the worlds biggest procrastinators. Woops.

Might Be An Interesting Fact If You're Really, Really Bored:
I've been considering changing pen-names for the past 6 or so years, generally around about an hour after I first chose it, but have always thought that I'd try to at least try to finish my ongoing sagas before doing so. The current obstruction in my goal to rid myself of this penname is Chasing the Dragon, I'll just say that I'm working on it. One day it will happen.

Random Thoughts About the Fics:

I am not particularly proud of a lot of my earlier works (Pride of Ice, Imaginary, Playing With the Boys, Fall Fall Fall, Seven Deadly Sins) - written in that somewhat loopy stage of teenaged years where I limboed between hyperactive lunatic and super-EMO-kid with more than a few demons on my back. I still can't bring myself to remove them, however, partly because they were unfathomably popular among some readers and partly because I still retain the hope that, one day, I'll go back and fix them. I like to think that my writing has improved since then and will continue to improve as I go, leaving me mortified at how bad current works are. Somes of these I've toyed at starting to re-construct already, (see first two (three?) chapters of Imaginary, and the odd teaser-trailer of Seven Deadly Sins) but I'm not sure whether this will ever eventuate into anything concrete or endworthy.
One-shots are my way of feeling out a fandom or a character if I'm feeling particularly inadequate. They're also a way of chasing off the somewhat rabid plot-bunnies that hassle me when I don't have the time to devote to writing of any sort. Winter's Breath was my first of the Yu-Gi-Oh studies and I'm still oddly fond of it, needs abit of cleaning up but it's odd and poetic and I'm still slightly bewildered by it. Walk the World for Him is all bitterness and oddity, Do You Like It? snarks and bites and is unbearably whiny, Lullaby lurks in dark corners and sneers at me. Of all of my Yu-Gi-Oh one-shots, The Sky is Falling, while absurdly-emo-angsty and cliche in subject matter, still holds a special place for me and is dedicated to a very dear friend who didn't quite make it to her teenaged years. For that reason alone I get a little bit teary-eyed whenever I get a review for it and love each and every reviewer who gives this pieces a nod just that little bit more. I like to think that I pulled out one of my 'take-a-cliche-and-turn-it-on-it's-head' rabbit tricks for that one, but I don't think it necessarily matters. A little bit of sap never hurt anyones soul. Through and Through is my most concise, profound reformation of Pride of Ice and thoroughly supercedes anything within that story, because somehow I ended up liking Draco Malfoy even if he is a great big git.
As it is the work that I am most proud of on this side is a silly little PotC one shot about everyones favourite, surly ex-Commodore. I still maintain the hopes that one day The Dark Side of Ambition will progress in some way into something else. It snarks and rolls and is awfully drunken, it's my pet-love.
In contrast the simply epic Chasing the Dragon is something that has taught me a lot about plot development, weaving of fandoms and where my weaknesses are. I worked for a long time on developing my very own mythology for this story and weaving it into both the Harry Potter and YuGiOh worlds and realised that I still have a lot to learn. It also taught me that I have an inordinate fondness for taking the worst cliches and turning them, absolutely, on their heads. This work is my most ambitious yet, being a sprawling spiderweb of concepts and off-the-cuff ideas that formed after some extensive and gruelling research, that all tangles up together to form something that I hope is utterly unique to the HPYGO crossover juggernaut. It's also about perserverance - no matter how long it takes me to update, I will finish.
The Prewett Boys sprung itself on me in a rage of sudden, absurd AU. Born out of an odd fondness for all things Prewett and Weasley (and somehow managing to ensure that I want to kill over half of the poor ginger buggars off. Go figure.) Lets say I was struck dumb by adoration for the Prewett brothers after reading, Lyin's masterpiece, 'Fools'. Read it and know what it is to read greatness.

Why I write what I write; I bounce around between fandoms fairly regularly (attention span of a goldfish) but there are a few that I continue to write for. Yugioh is probably the oddest of the lot because it is so unerringly sugary, optimistic and friendtastic that it makes my teeth ache with this lurking darkness underneath that the dub completely fails to try and gloss over. There is also such a carefully planned, underlying web of Egyptian mythology in the series that it makes me cackle with glee. The thing that really stood out to be about this show was that placed into the near-center of this saga that was about friendship there was this character that was so completely anti the morals of that universe; Seto Kaiba be his name and the unapologetic, complete assiness of him completely captivated me. I love the idea that even in the sugar-coated Yugioh world, there was one character that stubbornly refused to be redeemed and just didn't care.
Harry Potter still holds me ransom, because despite the ends that so many of my favourite characters met, the toys that JKR gave us have produced some spectacular material for the world of fanfiction. Inspiring, eh?

"Can I call you 'Bob'?"
"You may call me 'Murray'! I am a powerful demonic force! I am the harbinger of your doom! And the forces of darkness will applaud me as I stride through the Gates of Hell - carrying your head on a pike!"
"'Stride'?"
"All right then, roll! Roll through the Gates of Hell! Must you take the fun out of everything?"
- Murray the Talking Skull.
