When we are writing, or painting, or composing, we are, during the time of creativity, freed from normal restrictions, and are opened to a wider world, where colors are brighter, sounds clearer, and people more wondrously complex than we normally realize. - Madeleine L'Engle

Hey there! I’m Glora, or Artificial, whichever you want to call me. If you’re here than I suppose you’ll want to know SOMETHING about me, so here you go: I’m twenty-three, I live in Texas, I want to be a writer (like half of the other people here) and I’m a college student who works in retail off and on.

I am attempting to review more often then I have lately. If I've recently added you or your story to my favorites/alerts list and I haven't reviewed, you have my full permission to kick my butt.

Also, under my 'homepage' is a website for my Isis fanfiction, which includes a way to join the newsletter. If you like Isis, please check it out!

Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand. George Orwell

A lot of the stories I have here are crap. I'm the first to admit it. But I'm leaving them there in hopes that one day I'll actually go back and rewrite them!

Here are some of my better stories:

ISIS, for Mummy fans who can take a bit of Mary-Sueness. Alex O'Connell's friend Paige has come to visit, and while in Egypt she accidentally raises Imhotep. Strangely, he seems to know her...

STRANGE WORLD, for Raoul/Christine fans, though I would hope E/Cers would read it, too. It's very E/C friendly. It is the third anniversary of Erik's death, and Christine reflects on him and how things have changed since she last saw him. I wrote it hoping that hardcore E/Cers would read it and see that Raoul fans can love Erik, too. SADLY, the formatting seems to be off now, and since it's a songfic I'm scared to go in and fix it for fear it'll be removed.

THE MAIDEN, for Phantom fans who enjoy a bit of a crossover now and then. Erik spends his last evening on a stroll in a graveyard, and meets an extraordinary woman, and then witnesses her unusual death. Unfortunately, there are a few errors in here that I didn't catch the hundred times I read it before I posted it. Honestly – how could I not catch Ursula major?! Curse you, spellcheck!

INSANITY, for hardcore Erik fangirls who hate every other character. Just 'cause you need to learn a little somethin'. (ON SEMI-PERMANENT HIATUS. But the first two chapters are more or less self-contained.)

CINDERELLA AND PERSEPHONE, for Tom/Ginny fans. After the last battle, Ginny looks for a quiet place to be alone as she reflects on her memories of Tom Riddle. Memories that seem to haunt her.

SHADOWS, for Tom/Ginny fans who would prefer a longer story. No matter where she goes or what she does, she always hears his voice. Out of the corner of her eye, she can see his shadow. He can see and hear her, too. And more than that...it seems that Tom Riddle wants complete control of Ginny Weasely.

THE FLOWER GIRL, for Erik/OC fans who would like a more realistic story for once. Looking for shelter from the rain, Erik ducks into a flower shop. It's there he meets a girl of no unusual beauty or talent. The girl he would one day marry.

Currently Being Brainstormed:

I once had a lot more stories here, but now that I'm older I need to admit that I might not have time to write all the fanfic I would like to. Here are the ones that will definitely be written:

SCENES BENEATH A LILAC TREE: Phantom of the Opear, Leroux-based. The lilac tree had always been her place, where she sought peace and comfort. It was where some of the most important moments of her life occurred. But over time, a place of such perfect happiness could only become twisted and dangerous. Either a one-shot or a short story containing scenes between Christine, Raoul, Erik and the Persian through a period of eight years.

THE JUDGMENT OF ERIK: After his death, Erik must face the underworld, his judgment by the Lord of the Dead, and the inevitable punishment for his crimes. Phantom of the Opera. A long sequel to my one-shot The Maiden, though it can be read without having read that.

THE LAW OF GRAVITY (OR, THE RISE AND FALL OF LA CARLOTTA): Plotbunny at the moment, we'll see how it grows.
