| Kaiko Aozora |
Author has written 6 stories for Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Hikaru no Go. Hi! I'm Kaiko. Not my real name, but why would I tell you that? Do you want to know? STALKER! Those who know me from some of my fics, not that there's that many of you, I used to be Kaito. Which I was using happily, until I was browsing BehindTheName.com and guess what? It's a male name. I fail. Thus, I am now Kaiko. 海子, or かぜこ. The kanji for my last name is 澄. Translation=Ocean-child Blue-sky. I like to think I am unique. This does not mean that I am senselessly random and hyper, because senseless randomness is the norm. I can be random if I feel like it, but random people tend to gravitate towards other random people, whereas I am pretty much a social leper. That leads me to believe that my brand of randomness is completely different from most other peoples'. I live by two philosophies: "Things happen. No one knows why." Also, "No matter what happens, there will be a solution when it happens." Readers of Terry Pratchett or Shaman King should recognize them. I read. A lot. As in, seven to fifteen books a week depending on length. You name it, I've probably read it (though maybe not; I'm not very good with classics). If you read like I do, PM me. :) I'm always open to book discussion. Anime I Like, In No Order At All: Current updating status (Last edit 31 October 2009): Chapter status: Assignment count: Nothing major. Current Anime/Manga addiction: Hikaru no Go. Other: My updates happen when I finish the chapter, unless stated otherwise. I'm on really bad writer's laziness, though (excuse), so don't expect updates for a while... RE My Writing: I have a bad habit of starting stories and not finishing them. This is due to my overactive imagination. No sooner do I publish a first chapter than I come up with another idea for a story. So, I wind up with way too many first chapters... But I will eventually get around to finishing them. At some point. I am anti-yaoi. I am not anti-gay-rights. I am, in fact, pro-gay-rights, though not a lesbian myself. Are you gay? Yes? No? I couldn't care less. However, I do not have to read pornographic fics with virtually no plot about two characters who used to be perfectly decent, may or may not have any base at all (or a negative base, more often than not) on which to write a pairing, one or both of whom may be below the legal age of consent, and have no reason whatsoever to have suddenly decided that they're gay or are even obviously straight (-cough-Allen Walker-cough-), and I choose not to. The feeling of wanting to scrub my brain with hot water, soap, bleach, a wire brush, and maybe some hydrochloric acid is not a pleasant one, ne? I do not ship. I refuse to believe that any fic with a certain pairing is awesome simply because of that pairing. On the other hand, I will not shove my favorite pairings down your throat. You don't have to like them to read my fics. RE Fanfiction(My Beliefs, Preferences, and Crap You Probably Don't Care About): Regarding feminine and effeminate: Effeminate is how guys think girls act. Effeminate is also how the stereotypical gay guy acts. Feminine is how girls really act. A guy who is feminine is most likely not gay. (coughFujiwaranoSaicough) And he has an excuse; Heian-period guys were supposed to be feminine. Why are there so few people who support HikaruxAkari? I mean, really. She obviously likes him. And I think he likes her back, but doesn't really know what do do with the feeling, so expresses it by trying to annoy her--very Calvin and Susie-ish (If you don't get this reference, read Calvin and Hobbes NOW). This has roots in personal experience, too--I know what I'm talking about. (Maybe that's why...? I don't think it's that common a situation.) Hikaru No Go fanfiction archive is depressing. The yaoi fangirls have even metastasized there, to a fandom populated mainly by sixth-eighth graders and one thousand-year-old ghost. It used to be just the occasional fic, but now I'm looking and there's more and more every day. It's sad. These people must be seriously sick... I mean really. SIXTH GRADERS? No. Just NO. Another problem with yaoi fangirls: Their very existence affects my ability to write any interactions whatsoever between male characters. I'm constantly having to edit it, making sure that there is no implication whatsoever of yaoi/shonen ai. Because I don't need to give myself brainbleach. Am I seriously the ONLY person who's picked up on the parental thing between Sai and Hikaru? The ONLY one? Jeez, people. You can get shota(read:squick), but not parental? That's just... sad. And kinda creepy, too... Nothing to Do with Anything "English should be the national language. All these immigrants should have to learn learn it before they come here. English is the language of the land." "Everybody has a secret world inside them. All of the people in the whole world. I mean everybody. No matter how dull and boring they are on the outside, inside they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds. Thousands, maybe." The comma is a gentle creature, peaceful, with an unassuming presence and a cautious nature. It makes its home between clauses, in front of introductory phrases, between lists and near certain conjunctions, with smaller herds breaking off and living elsewhere. Its close relatives, the em dash, the colon and the semicolon, while rarer, are also larger and more distinctive, having similar tendencies and temperament. Fascinatingly enough, its closest biological equivalent, the period, which looks almost exactly like the comma, displays a far more aggressive personality and fierce pride, always making its territory clear and presence obvious. This is natural. Part of life. But the problems begin when bad fanfic authors take this innocent beast and misuse it. In most places in the world, the comma alternately suffers neglect and abuse at the hands of its owners. Yanked from its ancestral home and stuck into strange and unfamiliar territory, it does not know how to support itself and survive. While steps have been taken to preserve and cultivate these poor creatures, they prove largely ineffective due to public disinterest. Join the Purple Ribbon Foundation for the Preservation of Commas. Show that you care. MY NON-DEAD CHAPTERFICS: COMING SOON (or not-so-soon): Ellîniká--Series of five oneshots. Projected titles--Agapê, Eros, Philia, Storge, and Thelema (All Greek words for love, with different meanings). NOTE: Eros will NOT be smut. I doubt I'm even capable of writing smut. I have absolutely no desire to write smut. And Eros doesn't necessarily denote physical love. There will, however, be copious amounts of fluff. POSSIBLY COLLAB (KAIKIRA): | |||||||
