Harry Potter vs Twilight

Here is a list I found on the net that says Twilight is better than Harry Potter. Let's take a closer look at those reasons.

1- the writing is better

Stephenie Meyer uses the same words in her descriptions over and over again. That's not very creative, there has to be some variation. Twilight is also written from Bella's point of view in first person, hence she cannot know when she blushes red like a tomato and the like, a mistake Meyer has made.

2- the actors/actresses who film the movie are talented

Robert Pattinson is talented yes and let me point out that he was in Harry Potter and the Goblet og Fire way before Twilight was made, and I'm assuming the person who wrote this list meant to say the actors in Twilight were better than the actors of Harry Potter. I'm not going to say too much about Kristen Stewart, some people may say she has no emotions but I think it is the Bella Swan that lacks the emotions. I didn't even know most of the Twilight cast before the Twilight saga so they can't be that extraordinary talented.

3- bella is a role model (she teaches people to hold on to their friendships and stuff and keep their secrets)

The only thing Bella has taught me is that it does no good to keep obsessing over a guy, which she keeps on doing. Bella is a Mary Sue (an implausible character that is too perfect to be able to exist in the real world), here are some examples: She smells very good to vampires, even better than other people, all the guys want her (in her high school that is), she doesn't care about the danger of the werewolves or the vampires she is nice to them anyway, she is a very good cook and takes care of her dad and the house, everybody likes her except the bitches and the evil ones.

4-it has a PLOT!!

You're right it has a plot and I can sum it up for you very quickly: A girl moves to a new town and meets a vampire and falls in love with him, he leaves her, she gets depressed and starts hanging around werewolves, the werewolf falls in love with her but she goes back to the vampire, more problems come and the eventually get married and have a kid, someone wants to kill the kid but they manage to stop them and they live happily ever after.

Now let's take a look at the Harry Potter plot: A boy moves in with his aunt and uncle because a dark wizard killed his parents, when he is 11 years old he goes to a boarding school where he learns to use magic, he gets lots of friends and helps save the wizarding world multiple times by defeating the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, that's the shortest summary I could make, because I don't feel the need to explain the plot of Harry Potter in detail because you should already know it.

5-the scenes in the movies are exciting

And the scenes in Harry Potter aren't exciting? The Twilight saga wasn't exciting for me because I always knew everyone was going to make it, no major good character dies, you always know the good ones will win, it's not exciting at all and Edward barely dares to touch Bella, Harry Potter has more kisses than Twilight, longer kisses for sure.

6- the effects are amazing

The effects in Harry Potter are WAY better, enough said.

7-a story about a vampire, werewolf, and mortal beats a swinging wand boy and his enemy the beast

His enemy the beast? What does that mean? Harry Potter has a werewolf too, and he was created way before Twilight, and the wolves in Twilight aren't even real werewolves at Edward states too in Breaking Dawn, they are merely shape-shifters who turn into wolves, which you will very well know if you are a twihard, a real werewolf is a human that turns into a wolf at the full moon. There is a vampire in Harry Potter too, only briefly mentioned but it's there and that's REAL vampire. And everyone in Harry Potter is a mortal.

8- the actors and actresses are attached to their character and love them

No they aren't, Robert Pattinson said himself that he hates Twilight and liked his role as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies better. Furthermore the Twilight saga only lasted about 4 years and Harry Potter lasted 11 I think, so the cast of Harry Potter have had WAY more time to get attached to their characters.

9-the characters are not all good or all evil

If this person is suggesting that the characters in Harry Potter are either all-good or all evil then let me just say: Draco Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Severus Snape, Horace Slughorn, Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Rufus Scrimgoure, Dudley Dursley, Petunia Dursley, James Potter and I could keep going.

10-the evil people are villians for a reason like the newborn army in eclipse who almost killed the whole city of seattle or the volturi (they are not evil evil they have some good in them)

What does this have to do with Twilight being better than Harry Potter? the only pure evil people in the Harry Potter series are Lord Voldemort and Dolores Umbridge.

11-the characters in twilight are nice and have a great personality and they are hot and cool too (they are lovable for that)

The Harry Potter characters have better and more believable personalities than the people in the Twilight saga.

12-the cover of the books are drawn beautifully

So are the Harry Potter covers.

13-the posters of the movie looks verrrry cool

Why is this relevant? So are the Harry Potter posters.

14- creative and great ideas of the vampire form

Vampires? You mean fairies that drink blood.

15- you can make your own stories out of the chapters of twilight
(you can make stories out of harry potter too but twilight turns out better than harry potter)

The Harry Potter fanfiction stories are interesting and alternative twists and the multi-layered personalities off J. K. Rowling's character allow for great turns and plot-changing twists, the majority of the Twilight fan fiction I've read are about porn and sex (actually fifty shades of grey originated from Twilight fan fiction)

16- the phrase twi-hard is cool

What does that ahave to do with the saga itself or Harry Potter

17-the mashup name renesmee is so creative

Again who cares?

18- Meyer made the werewolves and vampire unite even though they are enemies to each other

Harry united students from different houses when he taught Dumbledore's army and they all fought together in the final battle against Voldemort.

19-the book is an international bestseller and an award winning book too (chosen by book critiques)

Harry Potter is the fastest selling book-series in history and J. K. Rowling is the first author that ahas achieved billionaire status solely for writing her books

20-there are lessons you can learn from twilight (the thing u can learn from harry potter is how to do a spell on your friend so he can help u)

IThere is so much more you can learn from Harry Potter. For example that you shouldn't dwell on dreams and forget the real world, and funnily enough the idea for Twilight came to Meyer in a dream.

21-the emotions are deep in twilight and is a wide imaginative world (unlike wand boy)

Severus Snape. Enough said.

22- she replaces small simple words to long big words for people to be more educated not use simple words everyone can understand

And she quotes from Shakespeare and others instead of being original.

23-twilight has a theme of a mystical and imaginative world

Twilight takes place in our world. Rowling created a whole new world and universe.

24- twilight is read by a massive audience

Yeah lot's of teenage girls. Harry Potter is read by everyone.

25-the fight scenes are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo amazing and you feel the fight by someway

Have you seen the fight in Breaking Dawn part 2? It wasn't even real, it was a vision.

26-the twilight quotes are really nice written and you feel the creativity in them

Like I said before Meyer quotes other authors.

27-Meyer left clues for you to know the identity of each and every character

Rowling has left way more clues than Meyer, she spent five years making up every detail of all the seven books, if you have read the books and go back to reading them again you discover more and more clues all the time. If you keep reading Twilight you discover more plotholes.
